Seafood? check, Service? check, Hot Hostesses? check
by brooklynka
Great place to grab a beer (or 5) after work or come for a lunch break. Love the wings on Fridays there are like 6 sauces to pick from. They have 3 TVs at the bar which is cool for sports, one is usually used for the Wii though, Im not into the Wii, but people seem to enjoy the bowling. Go figure. Customers are cool people, mostly Wall st. guys, service is good. Favorite foods are skirt steak (great chimichurri sauce), sea bass, and calamari, and of course Stella :)
There are a lot of other restaurant on Stone Street and they are also adequate, good food, beer, tvs, but Waterstone is my staple since Im a seafood lover and I have come to know the servers and bartenders its a very welcoming atmosphere.
Pros: Relaxed atmosphere, at home service, outstanding seafood
Cons: AC is a bit chilly sometimes

Very romantic place for a date, awesome seafood options
by samlevitz
I took my boyfriend to this little downtown spot after shopping at South Seaport. It wasn't as little as I thought, looking in the window it seemed almost like a cafe, but we got seated upstairs in an amazing room. Well lit, perfect music for my mood, a kind of upbeat, chill music. We had a wonderful meal. Started with the lobster bisque and coconut shrimp. I got the bass entree, it was cooked perfectly, he got the mango salmon. and we shared the chocolate brownie for dessert (it was huge, but we took some home). Anyway, I would've never guessed that there was a cool spot for dinner like this on a street full of bars and pubs.
Pros: great food, ambiance, not touristy
Cons: hard to find

Your Wing night rocks
by ryanjack
3 Words...I love wings... And I havent found a better deal with wings this good in the city. Went here last Friday for 25 cent wing nite and almost ate 50 myself! OK, sauces, my top 3 are Hot (of course), Hot honey, and Sweet Thai, also love the fact that you offer pitchers, don't have to wait for beer as long. My friends also enjoyed the wings, but they couldnt hang with the 50! To bad the Yankees lost.
Pros: Awesome wings, TVs, good music, nice happy hour
Cons: a little dark, menu is huge

Thursday Shrimp fiesta was a real treat
by penrodus
Me and about 8 friends went out to dinner last thursday and Had made reservations to eat at Waterstone Grill. I'd been before but most of them hadn't I wanted to show them my favorite restaurant downtown. When we sat down we were told that it was the first week of Thurday night shrimp fiesta, which is all you can eat shrimp for $25. Now, I LOVE shrimp so I knew what I was getting. You could choose between shrimp cocktail, popcorn shrimp, or shrimp scampi, and you could switch between the type too. I ate so much shrimp I could have burst. I know where I'll be this Thursday :)
Pros: SHRIMP fiesta on Thursday!!
Cons: a little cold near the door way

Brunch was exceptional
by edcantona
went to waterstone for brunch with a group of 6. Ive been to waterstone before for lunch but didnt know they were open on weekends. everyone in my group was very pleased with the food and service. I got the quesadills with fried egg and it came with sides of salsa and guacamole and sour cream and a little salad. excellent. my friends were impressed with the hash browns and the little muffins you get with your meal. Also, I almost forget the reason why we were there for 3 hours. Unlimited drinks for 10 bucks. Actually we got the option of 1 complementary drink or unlimited for 10 bucks. great touch to a great brunch.
Pros: unlimited drinks, awesome food, open on weekends
Cons: had to wait for a table

a gem downtown!!
by sampsonlq1
I found this place when I was walking around the finacial district downtown, showing my in-laws some of the sights. This place is tucked away on this charming little cobblestone street. So my wife and I and the in-laws had dinner and some wine. Nice server, decor was pretty average. Music was a little loud, but it was adjusted after we asked. Food was great, had the lobster and they had the skirt steak and one of the salads, and my wife had the special-duck breast-her favorite. Also the wine bottles were 1/2 priced on Tuesday when we went, a pleasant surprise. Never felt rushed, courses were delivered in a timely manner. Dessert was delicious, a small lemon mousse cake.
The owner even stopped by our table to thank us for coming in and told us about the brunch on the weekends.
In a place where not much is open on the weekends, we shall give it a go.
Pros: awesome food, prompt service, enjoyable atmosphere
Cons: parking, seats near door were cold

Tried it, loved it, will be back soon
by chauncey33
I walk by this place everyday on the way to work, so Ive been eyeing it. Finally, I took my husband downtown and we stopped by Waterstone for dinner. We went on a Wednesday and to my surprise, Prime Rib was a special that night. Its my favorite AND it came with a glass of wine. My husband got the filet mignon with lobster tail, he thought it was fantastic as well. The server (Kimia, I think was her name) was delightful, we had commented on how new the restaurant looked and she told us that they had just re-painted the entire restaurant. It was a very romantic dinner, with a nice setting. 2 thumbs up!
Pros: Romantic dinner, great food, service
Cons: financial district is far from our apt.

Amazing Ribs!
by financial25
Ok, so me and my coworker went to grab a quick drink after work and we choose Waterstone Grill. The bartender (think his name was Russ) was very friendly and told some funny jokes. We both ordered Stella pints and he asked if we were eating. We hadn't planned on it but he sold us on trying the BBQ ribs. Easily the best ribs I've ever had, granted I don't eat ribs everyday, but these were fall off the bone tender and the sauce was great too. So now before we grab a bite, we call Waterstone to see if the Ribs are on special.
Pros: Food, bartender, great location
Cons: need more bar stools

Tasty Fast Lunch in the Financial District
by reset4energy
My girlfriend and I went here on our lunch break last Thursday. The food was surprisingly good and speedy. Some of the places on Stone St. are just Pub fare. She got the Lobster Tart and I got the Special of the Day grilled bbq scallops with some kind of pineapple salsa. Bottom line it was excellent and we got back to work on time. The service was slightly above average but the ambiance made up for that. We got to enjoy the beautiful day sitting outside on Stone St. We will be back and we plan to try the restaurant next door to Waterstone too, says opening soon.
Pros: food (specials), outdoor seating, ample seating
Cons: slow drink service, remodeling unfinished

oasis in the middle of the financial district

For a quick lunch the sandwiches, burgers, and salads are fine. For more exensive fare the bisque, seafood and pasta are great.

Great Fin'l District Venue
by carlye58
Waterstone Grill is one of the more attractive and comfortable restaurants in the Fin'l District south of Wall St. Whenever I've eaten there, the food has been tremendous and the specials are fantastic. I highly recommend any of the seafood dishes. As an after-work drinks place, the place is really cool with excellent bar food. The wait staff is courteous and efficient and the outdoor cafe out back on Stone St is worth the wait. I take colleagues from work or have friends meet me there whenever I can. There are times when there is a long wait at lunch so be safe and make a reservation.
Pros: Great specials , Superb lobster bisque

Don't try delivery
by nycmember
Called in an order for delivery. Waited 45 minutes. Called to confirm. Waited another 20. Called to cancel. No explanation or apology given. The restaurant is less than 2 blocks from the office. Don't order by phone if you want your food and expect it in any timely way.
Cons: slow, unresponsive

Embarrased by the mediocrity
by sluigij
I took some business guests to Waterstone and was embarrased by a very noisy place which served mediocre food. The waitress was nice and tried hard to please. Too bad she didn't cook the meal, as the "chef" overcooked my chicken to near-rubber consistency. All 5 of us were disappointed.
Pros: pretty waitresses, decent service
Cons: noisy, mediocre food
