The doctors at Patients' First are all top notch. I have been seeing Dr. Marin and his fine group at both the Bayside and the Manhattan office, since they saved my life one wintery day in 1995. I was having an asthma attack, and I didn't want to go to the ER. The treatment I received that day was life saving and I have returned ever since. Dr. Marin diagnosed my Gall Bladder troubles, and got me a top surgeon, who removed the thing and had me back home to my family in 8 hours.
I don't know who the cretin is that is putting up bad publicity about Dr. Marin and Patient's First, but he/she obviously has some mental issues.... Doctors serve the public, and no matter who you are, if you have insurance, they have to treat you.... Sometimes the folks who show up are not well.... and I don't mean physically!
I would NEVER go to another primary care physician. They have a full range of testing facilities. I take my entire family there, and recently, I had a "party," where I took a number of my friends for their check-ups. When we go together, we are able to catch lunch across the street at the delightful Sushi YOU.
Dr. Marin is a superb diagnostician. He would give old Dr. House a good run for his money. He actually spends the time with the patients to listen to them.
If you are looking for primary or emergency care, either in Queens or in Manhattan (I have a friend who comes in all the way from Connecticut for this group) go to Patients First. Both Dr. Marin and Dr. G are great.
There is always some mention of the office staff in any DRs review. All I can say is that they bill me correctly. I'm not there to have the office girls look down my throat. The nurses, however, are fabulous. I have very small veins, and the phlebotomists are beyond great.

So again- Patients' First- Go there, Get Well and Stay that Way.

I was misdiagnosed at Patients First Family Medical Care and nearly died. Dr. Marin is a terrible doctor that never spent much in each visit. For nealry a decade I had a large tumor blocking my air passage way in my throat causing obstructive sleep apnea. Luckily I caught it just in time and had it removed at LIJ. Patients Last Family Medical Care - that is what it should be called. See http://www.Glenmarin.com

I have been going to this office for years. The doctors are great, each of them, they keep a regular schedule so if you like one doctor you can go back on that day. The nurses are great, really friendly, and bend over backwards to help people. The best thing about this office is ease of scheduling. If your desperate, you can walk in any day and see a doctor within a couple of hours.

Dr Marin is the most unprofessional doctor I have ever seen. He was telling me about how he is sleeping with a 28 year old model, I am a grown woman why would he tell me things like that!? While I was trying to tell him about my problems. He treats his patients like they are friends or buddies like you are talking to in a bar. This man is ridiculous and can't believe anyone goes to see him.

Some of the nurses are nasty, and downright ignorant. One couldn't even take my blood... cause the doctor doesn't want to pay people what they are worth... and they have a factory in Long Island... Ughhhh

Where can I begin? Hmm.. with the amount of time it takes to see a doctor, their "clueless" staff, and the uncaring, indifferent doctors, let's just say patients FIRST should be called patients LAST. They claim that the patients are their first priority.. well, I beg to differ. When I had the flu a couple of weeks ago, I had a fever, really horrible headache, and I was waiting on line even though I had already made an appointment. It took me a year and a day to see a doctor. When I finally got to see Dr. Escobar (for the first and LAST time, I should say), I found out he was nothing but an imbecile who prescribed unnecessarily high doses of already strong antibiotics. He didn't even take the time to thoroughly hear out my complaints, and he had already had a written out a prescription for me. I told him I had the flu, not some incurable disease. Patients First is absolutely terrible. The title of their practice is nothing but a big fat LIE. Patients First should close down as soon as possible. I hope it does. =)

I too used to go to Patent's First but had to give them up due to incompetent staff and an uncaring doctor.I called the facility to say that I coming for blood work. When I arrived minutes later I was told that they could not take my blood because the doctor was off-site. As I was preparing to go the doctor came from the back. I let the staff know that I would be requesting my medical records for a new doctor, left and never went back. It was the best thing I ever did!

P.S. They do order unnecessary tests and medications - their favorite being stress tests, followed by cardiac catherizations and Lipitor.

I couldn't tell you how the doctors were, I didn't get that far, and I wont be trying again! The office staff was totally clueless, and at the end of the ordeal downright rude.

I made an appointment for a doctor only to find out that they scheduled me for a day that he was not in. What made it worse is that I had to wait until they called me back into the exam room and saw a nurse to find that out. Waiting to be called in to the exam room took 45 minutes. Since the office wasn't busy (and I couldn't understand why the long wait) at about the 40th minute i went up to the window and stood there waiting so long for someone respond to me that I had enough time to read my personal information as the office staff was copying into my file. (Yes, thats right the woman writing my information didn't even look up when I said excuse me) Finally, another woman walked by and said that i could have a seat. HAVE A SEAT? You never asked my why I was standing there in the first place.

Furthermore, another patient had arrived for an appointment while I was waiting. I witnessed the office staff take her insurance information, and then be unsure whether they took that plan or not. They asked her to fill out the paper work anyway while they called to check to see if they accepted her insurance. After about 15 minutes of waiting they sent her off... they did not take her insurance. DO YOU THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE SAID THAT WHEN SHE MADE THE APPOINTMENT?

Stay away, the incompetent office staff will end up wasting your time.

I have rated Patients First excellent because that is exactly what they are. The Doctors especially Dr Marin and Dr Escobar are the most caring and compasionat professionals I have ever met. Their staff is always there to help you and will go to extreems to get test and appointments made, I have been going there for approx 7 years and would never change doctors.

This doctor's offic is good if it's convenient-it's the nearest one to my house so I go-but they keep you waiting a long time, and then take more tests than necesary. I also wouldn't reccomend if are you not insured because the tests will end up costing a lot.
