Bracker Susan Dds

by Adolf H.

Bracker Susan Dds,Went to this butcher before I finally woke up melted my wallet for x-rays and fillings, that were not covered by my insurance. The waits were long and her office is full of laughter and gossip, very unprofessional, she cannot drill a tooth without bouncing off another also I don't think she can see!I would not recommend her.

Doctor Susan Bracker

by suzanne r.

I am a professionally employed registered dental hygienist.

It is so easy to judge a professional, when you are not one.

Step back when judging ,...

Take care of you children's teeth.

Make them brush.

Stop blaming the dentist...
Look in the mirror.

Did your parents take you to the dentist every 6 months...
probably not...

its your neglect,..their neglect...
that makes you so mad...

Step back..listen..Our teeth are thd

Find.

Our teeth are thee only part of our body that will not repair itself.

Painless and affordable

by Bill L.

I have been going to this dentist for many years. She is wonderful, caring, and thorough. My family of four goes regularly, my wife and kids almost always have perfect check-ups. I have had a fair amount of work done over the years; always pain free and mostly covered by my insurance. Dr. Bracker always does a predetermination for insurance coverage and if the procedure is not covered she makes sure we understand the costs and our options. When I have owed her money for co-pays and deductibles she is very generous in her collection policy; she never has charged me a late fee or sent anything but a standard billing statement as a reminder. One time I broke my front tooth on a Saturday night and had an important speaking function on Sunday afternoon. I called the emergency number and she met me at her office Sunday morning, made a temporary tooth and charged me no more than she would have during normal hours. Dentistry is not cheap and it can be painful. This dentist works hard to prevent pain and to keep costs down. She is great.

a wonderful, loving and caring dentist

by ellarae b.

I had started seeing her a few years ago, I had neglected my teeth for awhile due mostly to fear and money. I knew there were issues I did not know exactly what they were I an not trained in that area, Entering her office I felt it was warm and comforting, she obviously cares about the way it presents. I've been to some offices where the carpets were 20 years and the walls were all mucked up. She cares that patients feel they are in a clean up to date place. During my consultation many dental issues were explained to me. I found it interesting that they use a laser to help find decay at an earlier stage than with the pick thing. This may account on why one of the patients I had read had a different dentist who did not use this and therefore could not find the decay. She also explained to me the complications that could happen because some of my cavities were very deep, and these included the possibility of needing a crown or even a root canal. She clearly showed me the area on x-ray and in my mouth. She has handouts for all procedures they do that explain all the possible complication from the treatment. They are read to you and you sign that you understand. I was given plenty of opportunity to ask questions. When treatment began she explained we always start with cleaning and a complete exam. In my case I already had the beginning of gum disease and needed a deeper kind of cleaning, and if after one year if no improvement I will be sent to a specialist.Next we took care of all the cavities, Crowns were recommended on some and one tooth does need a root canal. But, doctor bracker explained it is best to get all the cavities done so I will need less higher cost procedures, We have now completed the cavities and are consulting on how and what pace I can afford to finalize my treatment. How best to utilize my insurance, and possibly look at care credit. They have all been nothing but helpful. warrwn

I wouldn't go here!

by Stacey K.

I just want to say that in April of 2007 I went to see Dr. Bracker for the first time. She told me that I had 4 cavities which I found hard to believe because I had never had a cavity in the past. So, I decided to get a second opinion and go to a dentist my friend recommended. I had Dr. Bracker send the x-rays to the new dentist. After the hygenist cleaned my teeth I asked her if she saw any cavities. She said she didn't. I then went ahead and told her and the dentist my story about Dr. Bracker. The dentist did an extra careful search in my mouth and studied the x-rays that came from Dr. Bracker's office and said that he had no idea where she saw any cavities in my mouth! I'm glad I didn't go back to Dr. Bracker for needless drilling!!!

Too many patients at once

by Arthur C.

I picked Dr. Bracker because I saw her office being built and the practice accepted my insurance. I found this site AFTER my first visit.

I went in for my consult which resulted in a round of X-rays and some drilling. I had 2 cracked fillings that needed to be fixed. First visit she drilled out the first cracked filling and decided that it looked like the decay might have reached the root. It was too sensitive so I was packed with a medicated temp filling and sent home - come back in one week. Mind you I was there for 2 hours and only had the Dr with me for maybe a total of 1/2 hour (yes I was in the chair).

I found this site. Found a lot of similar stories, but I decided to give her a chance.

Second visit - fixed cracked filling #2. Although #1 needs root canal. Super sensitive, must have infection. Script and see you in 2 weeks. I don't remember having the infection last week. In chair for a little over 2 hours, maybe 20 minutes with doc.

Third visit - Finally able to finish root canal. Did not set-up appt for crown. In chair for about an hour and 15 minutes, 25 minutes with dentist.

Going to see a friend's dentist who is "family practice" and comes highly recommended for single service. I'm going to have him check out what work I have had done this time.

I tried to keep my review from being too negative since Dr Bracker is a very nice lady. I'd give her 5 stars for personality. The office decor is 5 stars as well. The PRACTICE itself is the problem. Having 3 or more patients requires multitasking and an awareness of each patients problem. If you give me a Novocaine shot and go away for 30 minutes, expect that I might not be numb enough and require another.

Check back in a week and I'll a review for the new dentist (search by my user name).

Top Notch Dentist

by Lisa J.

I would just like to say i have been a patient of Dr. Brackers' for over a decade and she has been nothing but the best. I first came to her office as a teenager where she eased my fear with her light sense of humor and gentle touch. Now that i am an adult and can see how her practice has flourished which could only be accredited to her confident and thorough work as well as the welcoming atmosphere of her office. I took a dental vacation when i went off to college a few years ago, but when i came back to see her establishment in full bloom i was taken back but i can say no matter how big her practice has become she still is the same funny, compassionate woman i came to know years ago. I have recommended her to many of my friends who now bring their own families which makes her practice more of a loving community rather than a stuffy old dentist office. I must not lead you into thinking just because her practice is big and nice is the reason for these praises, her work is impecable i have never been dissatisfied. I have had root canals, crowns and fillings and i must say i have not once thought the work was done in vain or for a quick buck. She advises her patients of treatment needs and alternatives but lets YOU decide what should be done and I can say she has never steered me wrong and for that i do trust her work and judgement. Remember bad news always travels faster than the good and for every horror story there are 10 great tales. I feel the slander must end and those who are behind Susan Bracker should stand up and say "Yes, she is the best. She's a Top Notch Dentist!! "t

Dr Susan Bracker DDS

by Anonymous

She did a horrible job on a root canal. The root canal has caused much pain and discomfort after it was completed. I have now gone to another dentist, only to be sent to a specialist to undo the mess she did. I was told a root canal was needed on the surronding teeth. I found that to be untrue. The issues were only caused by her lack of proper treatment. Dr Susan Bracker DDS is very money hungry. She sees multiple patients at 1 time and never seems to know what she is actually doing.

Great and Friendly Office

by Anonymous

I just can't say enough about Dr. Bracker and her staff. It has been a long time since i had been to a dentist and was terrified of going back to the dentist for the fear that I would need tons of fillings and shots. I was impressed that I was able to get an evening appoint- ment easily and was given a thorough exam. She was very compassionate and fun and her staff was very caring and calming at the same time. To my surprise, She told me I had no cavities, my xrays were perfect and my next visit would be in six months. The office was very clean, updated and I was in and out of my appointment within one hour. I highly recommend this dentist.

Susan Bracker, DDS

by Christina S.

Do not go to this dentist. I went to her office one time only and I am still trying to pay off the work I had to have done because of the damage she did to me. She drilled 4 of my teeth, one had an exsisting filling, that she said needed replacing, just like the other reviewer said. After leaving her office I needed 3, yes that is right, 3 root canals on 3 out of the 4 teeth she drilled that day. And I had to have one root canal right after the other. Within 3 weeks of leaving her office, I had 3 EMERGENCY ROOT CANALS. Do not go to her, tell all of your friends and family. I would like to hear from anyone that has had a similiar experience with Dr. Susan Bracker.
NOTE: To the reviewer titled "Top Notch Dentist" - So what you are saying is 1 out of 10 patients can expect to go through a "Horror Story with Dr. Bracker? And you are suppose to be Pro-Dr. Bracker?? I think those odds suck. And I speak from experience.

Drill 'n fill

by Benjamin S.

Very affluent dentist and office, likely due to the number of people including my wife who have paid her so much. She will recommend replacing existing fillings that are not troubling the patient in any way. This is a recipe for needing a root canal.
Ben's wife here...Within a few mos. of my 1st visit she gave me 9 fillings. I'd never had a cavity in my entire life & was shocked to need so many at once. At next check-up, she said I needed 2 more fillings. After that I started having horrible pain, vomiting from the pain. I saw her & another dentist, neither of whom could find any cause for the pain. I was completely non-functional for three days. She finally sent me to a root-canal specialist, who said I needed 3 root canals due to drilling for fillings.I had 1 that day, went back 4 days later for the 2nd one, but have put off the 3rd (it's been almost a year). Saw Dr. Bracker to get crowns for both root canals. At my next 6-month check-up, I had another filling. My next appt is coming up, and I am seriously considering finding another dentist. Our dental insurance only covers $1500 per year. That year between my husband and I, we had over $6,000 in dental bills, which we are still paying off. Another thing is, you make an appt, and then a week or 2 before the appt they call & say they have a lot of openings and want you to come in sooner. It makes me wonder if they have trouble getting patients, although they obviously have money to spare; you can tell just from the decor.
