Pros:
~Dedicated teaching staff. Most seem highly trained and if they are not they have me fooled! I have only personally seen one afternoon head teacher from the year 07 to 08 who was a complete witch to the children and parents. It appeared as if the director kept this teacher on board rather than face the embarrassment of terminating her. She was gone the following year so all is well.
Dedicated administrators to parents, teachers, and children. I have seen the director bend over backwards to make parents happy. They strive to pamper the parents!
Very clean- 100% satisfied with sanitation. NOT like a day care setting. NO chemical smells from cleaning.
Aesthetically pleasing. Very natural colors throughout classrooms. No bright primary paint to scare the babes.

Cons:
I have noticed and experienced a over analyzing of children and their development. At times teachers will suggest a problem or delay with development and evaluations show no problem. I have seen this happen often to friends and I tend to wonder if the teachers at beginnings have been trained to have to much expectation of the kids?
CLASS SIZE IN THE OLDER ROOMS. My toddler started out with 10 kids, the following year in the 2's room there were 12 kids. Following year in the 3's there were 17. Now there are 26 kids in the 4/5's. WAY to many. I would rather pay a higher tuition and know my child is getting more attention. 26 kids!? Feels like a public program at times. I hope the school reads this and takes my advice. It is a huge turn off to see so many bodies in one room with 4 teachers!

After my complaining I still recommend this school and it is mostly due to the teachers. A few in specific would be Jennifer, Shelly, Colleen, Odette, Chris, Loni, Lynnette, Claudine, and of course- Ellen! My child moved onto a private kinder program and it was certainly thanks to all the help from the entire school as one.

Cons: Class Size in older group, Judgement upon children.

This is a for-profit school: beware. That alone doesn't mean it's bad, but it should point you to where the administrators' heads are at...we landed there because it was in the neighborhood, stayed out of lethargy, and now feel it was probably a mistake. Teaching quality was uneven in the extreme: our child was virtually ignored by some teachers, celebrated by others. The school year is shorter than at comparable schools. The overall philosophy, if it exists, certainly doesn't percolate into all classrooms and more than a few of the teachers seemed semi-literate. Particularly now that we've moved on, and seen what good schools can offer, we feel the experience was average at best.

Beginnings Toddler Program is an amazing nursery school. The class size is smaller and there are 4 teachers per class room. The staff is so dedicated to the children and parents. The director is available at any time to talk and help with kindergarten applications. This place really has it together. I HIGHLY recommend Beginnngs!
