Great spanish cooking in midtown 5 Star Rating - World class

I stepped in here on Saturday night. First, the place was packed, eventually they sat us. The drinks came quick which was suprising. I ordered the chicken, rice and red beans. It was excellent. I don't usually eat spanish food but this was great. The prices are phenominal as well. i will definitely keep coming back for some good spanish cooking.

Pros: Delicious spanish Food
Cons: none

Surprised at so many bad reviews?? 5 Star Rating - World class

I am so surprised at the bad reports. I have been there twice. Had the snapper, tostones, pastelli's and the best margarita ever. I am Greek and PR and know what good PR food is. It may not be as good as my ex mother in laws food but very good.

Pros: everything
Cons: nothing

Undercooked Pork Chops and No One Cared 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Many years ago, in this same location, was a Cuban/Chinese restaurant where, on many occasions, I would order pork chops and yellow rice. It was the dish that made me fall in love with Latin food. On a return trip to the old neighborhood, I noted the old place was no longer there, but replaced with Old San Juan and I decided to give it a try. My hubby ordered an empenada for an appy and we were so happy with the taste we could hardly wait for our entrees. My husband's Chicharon de Pollo was nothing more than glorified Chicken McNuggets and my pork chops (grilled not fried like real PR chops) were pink on the inside - which I didn't notice until I'd eaten half of one chop. I showed it to the waiter, he looked at me then asked if I wanted them cooked more. I said I didn't because I lost my appetite. From then on there was absolutely no contact - eye or otherwise- from the staff. The probable owners - two fellas that looked very alike - carried on going back and forth, but could care less about their customer's satisfaction. Besides that experience, the food just was not tasty at all. Don't waste your time.

Pros: Clean bathroom
Cons: Food and service

Horrible service and ambiance 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

My boss (who happens to be Irish)recommended this eye sore to me so I decided to take my wife there for Valentines Day dinner and a broadway play at 8pm. We arrived an were seated at 6pm where the waiter promptly took our drink order. We ordered a half pitcher of sangria that tasted like cheap red wine with chunks of apples. It took 20 for the lazy waiter to return to take our entree order and 40 minutes later we decided to leave. I would not recommend this hole-in-the wall to my worst enemy.

Pros: I will never go again
Cons: service
