I went to try it because I had a Restauranrt com coupon. We showed the coupon up front because I think you're supposed to show it first. The girl made a face, then restricted the menu. The only stipulation on the coupon was a minimum

My favorite sushi place, most rolls are $2.50 and sushi $1. The price is right, servers a nice and the food is good. The only problem is that i have seen a bug dead on my table. I believe that most restaurants have bugs in this city so i let it slide. After coming here for so many years i have never had anything in my food, but i can imagine if i did i would never return.

Cons: Did see a bug in the place

this is the worst japanese food I've ever tasted. I couldn't finished 1/3 of the food I ordered. Both my brother and I found a small piece of fish bone in our spicy salmom roll. overall, I regret order food here.

i found a "critter" floating in my miso soup. if you're cringing reading this, imagine how i felt when i bought $30 worth of sushi late at night after a long day at work and just wanted to sit and eat in front of my tv. I had to take it back at least they gave me back my money but offered me a free meal-in that dingy place? never again no thank you. and another friend of mine saw a "critter" run by on their table after they finished a meal. don't eat here, it's filthy!

This has been my regular Sushi place for years now. I love going here, the people are always so friendly, and the service is fairly quick. The sushi is delicious, and most of their house special rolls are great. It's not hard to try something new here, or go with the usual. Not only that, but they cater to all different kinds of people, and keep their respectfulness. I highly recommend.

they have raised their prices yet they are still considered as reasonable prices. plus, they have started a point reward system. whenever you spend $ 10 there, you will earn one point. you can redeem some rewards with the points such as LV, Gucci wallets. hey, i'm not kidding. there are really LV wallets redeemable, but the points for that are rather high. however, they have some 'small' rewards for you to redeem so it is not hard to get something for free in the end.
they have a lot of house special rolls. i think about 100. i have only tried about 20 of them. i would not say most of them are delicious but MOST of them are YUMMY, such as ATOMIC BOMB (spicy though), spicy dancing kani, bagel. and those house rolls are fancy..
i tried some of their chef's special too. they are a little bit pricey but they are worth to be tried as they really taste good, such as the orange white tuna, and tuna arrow. i recommended these two to all of my friends and they all said good, especially the tuna arrow. you should really tried it.

I recently went to this place because i heard of half price sushi that is closer to home and it wasn't as good as i thought it would've been. The sushi pieces are small in comparison to my usual half price sushi place and the rolls are much better in taste. the selection here is pretty small and although the special rolls are buy one get one free... only perhaps maybe 5 are a decent value (meaning 8 dollars and under) and the rest start at 15 dollars and go all the way up to 30 dollars for six pieces! who in their right mind would order a 30 dollar roll for six pieces? if you want better half price sushi i'll recommend this place J.C. Chikurin. it's located on Ocean Avenue and Avenue M is the cross-street. that place will put this place to shame once you go there.

Omiya is my default go-to for sushi: The fish is always fresh (especially in the beginning of the week!), the staff are always friendly and helpful if I'm not sure what to order, and I've never seen a $12 Chirashi platter presented in so many unique and beautiful ways! I wish I could show pictures of some of these dishes, they are seriously put together with an artistry you wouldn't expect for the price. The fish is never "fishy", the variety of rolls available is wide and very creative, and I'm very impressed by the quality of the white tuna they serve (my favorite).

Seating has never been a problem, they make you just as comfortable at the bar as they do at the tables. I can't comment on the kitchen meals (ramen, teriyaki & such), but unless you're looking for something very fancy, this is definitely a good place to put on your list of where to go when you don't know where to go!

Pros: Value, Freshness, Flavor, Service

.

I like this place. They don't have all you can eat, but their prices are cheap, and for the price you pay, the fish is fresh. Never had things like terriyaki and such. The ambiance is okay, not special, but so far the service has been good. Seating is prompt.
Tip: I always order in from this place. I only eat at the restaurant if I happen to need to stop off at 86th Street on my way home from work. There are a few places in Bay Ridge that HAVE all you can eat, so I take advantage of those when I go out for sushi, but those same places don't deliver all you can eat and the prices for rolls and a la carte can add up real fast. With Omiya, the prices are perfect for those days when you want to stay home and order in.

I consistently come back to Omiya because they never failed me with their sushi. It's fresh and cheap. $2.50 for all regular rolls, $1 for each piece or sushi or sashimi and buy one get second special/house roll for half price. I've been so much other cheap and expensive sushi places before and it doesn't quite match up to Omiya. Their sashimi are fresh and melts in your mouth. The sushi's rice is not hard and does not fall apart. They always have new special rolls every so often to keep sushi interesting.

i was there a couple days back with a few friends...but to my astonishment the food there was excellent and the staff there were so friendly...the rolls they made very beautiful and tasty you will never expect a small restaurant with such low price to serve such beautifully made sushi which can be compared to those very highly priced sushi place in Manhattan...i was told that they have an even better place in east side brooklyn on Ave U i highly recommend this restaurant

i eat here frequently. whenever i have a craving for some katsu don, chicken katsu, udon w/ ebi tempura, FRIED ICE CREAM, dragon/tempura rolls, etc. the staff know me pretty well. i always get my fav. roll- the philly (philadelphia roll), the shrimp tempura roll, and boston roll. (all COOKED if you're curious. haha). their sashimi (raw fish) is pretty fresh and good, too. their a la carte and dinner menus are always decent priced and good portions.

a lot of bay ridge kiddos go there. it's yummy, the staff is oh-so nice and attentive... the music is never annoying, and good value. there's this one roll... sooo GOOD! it's battered on the outside of roll... deep fry for a min. and it's crunchy, chewy, and oh-so good. just like the fried icecream...a MUST-TRY!

Japanese restuarants are usually on the expensive side but this one is not. Sushi is quite tasty and the rolls are nicely wrapped. I order Ebi Tempura Roll and Rainbow Roll every time I visit. However, the only decoration in the restaurant is the handwritten Japanese words on the wall and a few banners.
