So I use to walk by this little place everyday and decided one day to pop in for dinner with a few friends. We were so disappointed with everything. Food was over cooked, very dry and old clumpy rice. The table next to use had the same complaints (the only other group in the place). Manager argues about taking food off the bill so we paid, left and will never return.

I have been a customer at Mi Nadito for over 10 years now and when I'm in the City, it is my "go to" restaurant!

Tucked away along 8th avenue, it is one of Hell's Kitchen's little treasures.

Always serving up the freshest food and pouring the best margaritas in town - do yourself a favor and head over there tonight.

And ask for PK, you'll be happy ya did!

Pros: Food, Drinks and all...

The margaritas whether on the rocks or frozen RULE!!! The food is also great. I first came here with a friend who knows the owner. The prices are pretty (NYC standard) the food and portions are great. If you come around happy hour, it is loud and extremely crowded, but the prices are great.

Pros: margaritas

Cons: small dining and bar area

I went today feb 23 for lunch. I was at the bar. The food was fast, and the bartender Antonio was very nice and friendly. I had the burrito lunch special served with rice and beans and a little salad, there was a free bean soup which was Ok, and free soda. He brought me nachos and salsa -the salsa was very tasty. The prices are great for the amount of food. I tried the strawberry margarita and was very good. I will definitely bring my friends here for a girls night out to get some margaritas.
I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Just last week I was in NY and my mother and I happened upon this little place in the heart of NYC. Its a small Mexican restaurant with a wonderful latino ambience. There is a very friendly wait staff as well as a full menu of favorites as well as some yummy and not well known dishes. It was rather quiet and well lit bit not too bright. We had drinks and dessert. The Mexican fried ice cream was wonderful. The prices were very modest, especially for the location. I know I will go there again if I get back to NY!

My husband and I really enjoy coming to this restaurant: Excellent food, service and overall experience. We moved here from California and thought there were no places with good Mexican food on the East Coast, but this place definitely proved us wrong! Everything is fresh and made-to-order and it has that true Mexican atmosphere. And for those who are wondering... the margaritas are awesome!

Any time I am in mid town Manhattan I try to visit Mi Nidito. I probably have eaten here 10 times over the last 5 years and it is great every time. It isn't authentic mexican food, it is more like California Mexican. The menu is huge and they have many vegan vegiterian selections.

The ambiance isn't anything to write home about, but it is clean. The service is friendly and fast.

Prices are high, buy hey, you are in Manhattan. I bet you the rent is pretty steep.

Mi Nidito has been here for at least 5 years and that in it self is a testament for a restaurant in Manhattan!

Pros: GREAT FOOD, large selection, vlarge egetarian menu

Cons: None!

Food is actually good. Beens are different (in a good sense). Would not call it authentic Mexican but the taste is good.

I find the prices a little too hight for what it really offers. Not sure if it will stay in business for long since "chipotle" just opened a branch literally next door.

Frozen margaritas are a must try!

Walking up to the restaurant I was nervous because of the fading old storefront signs and cheesy logo, but we marched in anyway with hopes of the food proving itself worthy. Oh no. We tried the bar lunch menu which is supposed to be cheaper but is actually way too much money for what you get. The place smells like garbage, the bar smells like cleaner and the food looks and smells like your summer camp cafeteria. The 'free' soup is beans, the side dishes are beans and the teeny burritos and chimichangas have no meat inside and taste similar to the Lean Cuisine version. The margarita is okay and you'll probably get excited with the real fruit in the strawberry and raspberry versions, but you might as well have gotten a smoothie instead because there's zero alcohol in these suckers.

I was really excited to try one of the overhyped margarita's, but was extremely disappointed in the drink when it arrived. It was barely cold, too sweet and tasted like it didn't have any tequila at all. for $11+ a drink, it was really disappointing. The food. The portions were decent for the price, but I asked for a side of hot sauce to accompany my dish and was served a sweet garlic chili sauce instead. This place is definately not worth the money or the effort to get there.

MiNiditos is the best place to get a Marguarita. It is smooth and strong. I have been going to MiNiditos for at least 10 years recommending it to my friends, especially woman friends, as a place you can go alone or with friends to relax and enjoy a healthful Mexican menu with the freshest ingrediants and the best Marguarity you will find in many states.

The strawberry frozen margaritas are the best - real strawberries. The food is always fresh and tasty. It's sometimes a bit loud, but is a reliable place for a good meal. In the winter, the taco soup is the best - pretty spicy, with lots of veggies. As good or better than what Mom made.

Worst customer service (i.e. management) ever. Although the food wasn't bad, the service was so horrible, that I didn't even get to finish half of my lunch because the waitress never came back to my table after serving me. Ran out of tortillas for fajitas and couldn't get anyone's attention to come back to my table. Also never received one refill for my drink. Finally had to leave my table (in very cramped quarters) to flag down the bartender. By this time, my food was cold. Only ONE waitress was on staff for the rush lunch hour. To make matters worse, the assistant manager said she could only take $2 off my fajitas (priced at $16) that I had not even eaten half of. Had the nerve to tell me I should have gotten up from my table to find someone to serve me. TERRIBLE experience.

This was the worst experience that I have ever had eating dinner. The service sucked. The ladies were more worried about talking to themselves then waiting on us. The food was undercooked and was skimpy compared to the over prices on everything. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Chevys on 42nd street was the best experience I had this weekend in New York. Check that one out if you want true Mexican food in a true mexican atmosphere

Can't believe I have worked only one block from this gem for the past 3 years and never noticed it! I did a Citysearch check last night for a last minute meal for two, and saw this high rating, so we went to check it out. WOW! The food, service and atmosphere are perfect... great casual mexican! Be sure you arrive hungry... portions are generous. All of the ingredients are fresh and tasty. We shared the double layer seafood quesadilla as an appetizer... yum! The fajitas and burritos were delicious... along with the chunky homemade guac!

last month, I had my 30th birthday party here with 10 guests. a great time was had by all. the waitstaff was very friendly and the food and drinks were terrific. go on an empty stomach, the portion sizes are substantial. this is the best mexican food i've had since moving to nyc 2 years ago from texas. an extensive menu for vegetarians.
if you are going to have a large group, i would recommend calling ahead. it's a small place and i'm sure the staff would appreciate a heads up.

I've been going to Mi Nidito for years, since it's in my 'work' neighborhood. They have great lunch deals...and the servers have always been friendly and efficient. I love the homemade salsa. There's a nice variety of vegetarian entrees as well, (I love the vegetable chimichanga). It's not gourmet, it's good, so I give them a solid 7. The atmosphere is okay...not romantic or anything...but fun for groups. The portions are generous and I always leave with a smile on my face.

Mexican is my very favorite cuisine, and I've been on a mission to find an authentic restaurant here in NYC. I really liked the chips and salsa and Mi Nidito, and my entree (Cancun Chicken) was a delight as well! The margaritas also have a very wonderful consistency and texture and taste. Overall, a great experience, although it was a bit pricey. I read all the reviews about fresh ingredients and I must say - it is noteworthy indeed! My only gripe was that I left feeling fuller than EVER (and I only ate half my entree), so beware!

Went here before a show in the area. Maybe I was expecting more because of the prices or because it seemed to stray from Tex-Mex style. I had the mole and it was bland. The chips and salsa were good though.

I've eaten here many times, and we've never been disappointed. The veggie options are very good, the margaritas are flavorful and abundant, and the service is great. A very good value, and it's easy to get there! Good gathering place for post-game or birthdays.

I am not an employee or owner of this classic Mexican place, I am only a loyal fan of the best authentic Mexican restaurant in my neighborhood. It is a small place that serves great magaritas and I have never had a bad meal in here, so I don't know what they mean by mediocre, unless they consider Taco Bell authentic! (the review before mine) This is a great place and anybody who calls it anything less needs to go somewhere that is more flash and doesn't let their food and drinks do the talking! Mi Nidito can rest on it's laurels...why aren't they in the top ten in NYC??????

The ambience, margaritas, and food are amazing here. The portions are enormous (food and drink)! It's a great place to bring a date or a few friends. Our waitress brought us the wrong order, but quickly corrected the error, and the food was worth a few extra minutes.

I couldn't be happier this neighborhood Mexican is in my neighborhood. You may pay a bit more than other places around but the quality is so far and away superior, it would be worth much more. The place isn't much to look at, but homey and the staff is attentive. The best part-- if you want it spicey, they will actually make it spicey. Take out or eat in, you will not find fresher ingredients at any other Mexican in town!
