Best hamburger around, good fries and ice cream. Wonderful place to take young kids, eat outside at a picnic table, go on a few rides (for 3-5 eyar olds), play mini-golf, or climb a tree.

Red Rooster is a great place to go with the family or a bunch of friends. The fast food is great with old fashion burgers and fries and not to mention their amazing milkshakes. The mini golf course is also a lot of fun.

Red Rooster has been part of the landscape of Route 22 in Brewster NY for as long as I've lived in these parts (1962-ish). It's a small old fashioned drive up burger joint very popular with local families as well as travelers who exit off I-84 headed north. It's got great burgers fries and shakes at reasonable prices. It also has a popular mini-golf course right next door. Don't count this place out as just another burger joint. It's even Zagat's rated!

The first time I saw The Red Rooster, I thought I had entered a time warp. It must definitely reminded me of the drive ins so prevalent during the 50s, 60s and early 70s. Before the chains invaded our great country. In fact, the Red Rooster looked alot like a business called Jakes, which my brother briefly owned in Bemijdi, Minnesota, which sadly was replaced by a McDonalds...

The Red Rooster is not only a nostalgic trip back in time, it also features good food. The burgers are charcoal broiled, the shakes tasty and ice cream really good.

The mini golf course is good fun, too. Of course, I'm a sucker for all this stuff, so maybe I'm biased. It's great to have a day outdoors, away from all the modern tech.

Birthday parties for the kids can be arranged, too.

There are a few picnic tables to dine outdoors. Some just stay in the car, too. Takeout is, of course, available.

I'd definitely recommend the Red Rooster, for family fun, mini golf and great fast-food. Here's hoping it won't be killed by a chain, like poor Jakes...

PROS: Good food, convenient location, good family atmosphere
CONS:

I have been going to Red Rooster for over 30 years and I still love it today as much as I loved it as a kid. The course is fun and my kids love to go. We always have a great time and the best part is walking next door and getting ice cream!
