This store has the best service ever, you can call there, she bags the books with your name on them, you walk in and pay for them less than a minute you are out of there...if you like to browse there are great books in this store especially on the old Staten Island...........Love love love this store......

It's Good to Know Some Things Don't Change

As a former Staten Islander -- I left the Island in '98 -- I often wonder if Clove Lake Book Store has bitten the proverbial dust, like so many of the other, wonderful independent bookstores in New York City. It's good to hear that they are still around, and I hope that they are thriving. Is it still the crowded, dusty, inviting nest of books that it was in the 1990s? I hope so! Kudos also to their extraordinary staff!

Fabulous Independent Bookstore!!!

Small independent bookstore beats the larger chains by a mile! Great personalized service and much faster orders than the larger bookstores as well as some more eclectic and interesting books. Coffee and cake are good elsewhere - I don't need them in a bookstore. I need the personal and fast service that this wonderful neighborhood store provides.

Clove Lake is very lovely little bookstore. They have a very good selection of fiction, romance and self help books. The sales people are very friendly and will go out of their way to help you find a book. They even offered to order a book for me when I couldn't find what I wanted in stock. The shop is very neat and clean.

I love this place. The people are so sweet and courteous and want to be there. If they don't have the book you're looking for they'll order it. Overall, I have no complaints.

Clove Lake Book Store is a convenient place for high school and college students to obtain books and study guides. They carry a vast assortment of Cliff Notes and Barron's test prep books, and are always happy to special order something for you. Readers of any age will find books in every category at competitive prices.
