It's a shame the service was so terrible because otherwise I would go back. We were ignored for 15 min before our drink order was even taken even though it wasn't busy at all for a saturday afternoon (I am a former waitress so I can

I'm usually not one to review unless I'm really ecstatic about a place, and well I just couldn't resist writing about my wonderful experience at Mudville 9.

My best friend just moved to Tribeca a week or so ago, and has been to Mudville 9 three times already so she of course made us all come join her for what she says are the best ribs, wings, and burgers in town. Being total BBQ lovers we had to try the place out for ourselves before completely agreeing with her, which we of course did!

Besides the wings, ribs and fantastic beer selections she totally failed to mention the awesome mac & cheese, we will all be frequenting this place on a regular basis!!

This place is great!!

Pros: The BEST Craft Beer Selections in Tribeca!

Cons: I wish I was there right now!

.

I went to watch the Yankees games during my lunch break yesterday. There are not that many great spots to watch sports and eat lunch by my office in Tribeca, by Mudville 9 is defintinely that.

I ordered 4 different types of wings, medium spicy, jerk, honey mustard and I had the sweet and sour bonless wings. All were amazing!!! The bartender offered me numerous different beer pairings for each flavor of wings.

There craft beer selection is tremnendous and from what the bartender told me it switches daily.

Cons: I drank too much

Mudville is a great Football bar, the staff is friendly and will try to help accommodate you when you want to watch your game. The french fries are yummy and they have a good veggie burger. From what I hear the wings are good.

Food is superb. Beer selection is surprising. Price seals the deal. They always have a game on, which makes unwinding after work really nice for me.

This place is wonderful. It makes for a good pregame on the weekends featuring beer towers (about 8 pints) and a rotating selection of craft beers on tap. The wings here are exceptional (except for the sweet BBQ flavor was not all that great). They have about 10 flat-screen TV's in the place always showing the hottest sports (NFL, UFC, etc.). Friendly staff and a great owner also keep me comin' back time and time again.

Pros: Best Wings in Lower Manhattan

Cons: Not much room

.

We had a reserved table and asked to watch the football game we were there to see. Despite promises, after an hour of waiting and paying for 3 rounds of drinks, the manager refused to change the channel on any of their TVs, despite having 3 TVs playing the same game right in front of us. He then told us to "chill out, it's just football" which seemed senseless considering that's why people show up to your bar at 1pm on a Sunday in the fall.

After cursing and insulting our table of 7 people, he groped one of our friends and stood next to our table telling us why he hates football fans.

Looking at the other reviews, this seems as if it's not the first time this has happened. I would suggest spending your time and money at any other bar in the city.

Pros: The manager was dim-witted enough to beat in a fight

Cons: Service, Ability to watch a football game

The worst experience to date as a paying customer. I was with a group of six friends with a reservation for drinks and food. The inebriated and profane manager made unwanted passes at my female friends and was confrontational to the men of our group. We cut our losses after our drinks and never ordered food. After paying our check, as we were leaving we got a final round of curses from the manager. Save your time and money. We??ll never go back.

Pros: When you leave, you are no longer at Mudville 9.

Cons: Service

.

I went to Mudville 9 a few weeks ago after it was recommended to me by one of my co-workers. I called them to make the reservation for 15-20 and they had no problem accomodating us. It turned out to be a party of 20+ and It was a tight fit but that staff made sure that we had enough chairs for everyone. The service was great. We didn't have to ask for refills. They just kept them coming and the food was good for bar-type food.

I will recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a fun but not overly crowded place to chill after work and hope that they enjoy it as much as we did.

Mudville is your typical bar with lots of televisions tuned to sports. It has your typical bar food. Except the wings are anything but typical. They have, BBQ, sweet and sour, and other sauces but you have to go for the hot wings. The hot wings go from mild to super wow. With the super wow your eyes tear and your mouth burns just from the aroma. Once you get used to your preferred level of heat you can't get enough of them. The wings are moist and flavorful.

I saw the website for this place and brought some friends for a "wingding." It was definitely not worth the trip from the Upper East Side where we have great wings at places like Blondies. The wings were dry and to top it off, they were out of one of the the great 99 beers on tap. If you are looking for some great wings, quality beer and a great sports bar there are much more convenient, great sports bars out there!!

Re: Worst Customer Service

Agree with you 100%!

"Froboy" is obviously a cheapskate without a brain. He's also probably a lousy tipper who brings a calculator with him every time he goes out to make sure he doesn't spend a penny over 15% (if he even leaves that). Its amazing someone like that even has a girlfriend.

If you like great burgers, wings, ribs and cheap beer, you'll love Mudville9. On the other hand, if you're a penny-pinching cheapskate like "Froboy", please stay away - you won't be missed.

For the guy who wrote that review, what are you stupid? If you are so cheap and frugal over $0.50 per beer, why are you buying a six pack from a bar to have it delivered? Take your lazy self to the corner store and buy a six pack for $8....you would save $16!!!! Even better, send your girlfriend to do it. For a guy haggling over $3.50, that would probably make sense, don't ya think? I don't know whats worse, the fact that you did that, or the fact that you tried to write a review about it to tell the world how dumb you are. I agree with the manager go **** yourself! Mudville is a great time with good wings and cheap beers, don't listen to this momo.

I ordered wings and and a six-pack of beer from Mudville 9 on Sunday night. Over the phone, I was told the beer would be $3.50 per bottle. When it arrived, however, the bill read $4.00 per bottle. The delivery guy was unable to help, so I called the restaurant. Transcript below:

"Hi, I ordered wings and beer awhile ago - how much was the beer supposed to be?"

---"I don't know, what did I say, $3.50? $4.00?"

"You said $3.50, but it's $4.00 on the bill."

---"All right, then it's $4.00."

"But you told me it was $3.50."

---"These are bar prices, $4.00 is practically giving it away. It's $4.00."

"Well, then is it all right if I send it back?"

---"You're going to send it back over fifty cents?"

"Yeah, I am."

---"Sure, send it back. And go **** yourself, too."

And then he hung up.

I stared at the phone, totally nonplussed. My girlfriend and the deliver guy were standing there, so I told them what he had said. After all of ten seconds of deliberation, we decided to send the entire order back
(despite having waited an hour and twenty minutes for it to arrive). I felt kind of bad for the delivery guy. Anyway, I called the restaurant again to tell them that I was sending the order back, and to speak to the manager. Transcript below:

"Hey, this is the guy with the beer. I just wanted to let you know that we're sending the whole order back."

---"Fine, you do that, *******."

"Can I speak to the manager?"

----"I am the ******* manager, *********."

"You're the manager?"

"Yeah, that's right, so why don't you go **** yourself? *********."

And he hung up on me again.

I'll be making a more concerted effort to get in touch with someone in charge later this week (I can only hope that was not actually the manager).

Needless to say, neither I nor anyone I know will ever be ordering from Mudville 9 again. And I hope that you won't, either, now that you know about their particular brand of customer service.

A group of about 10 people walked in on a Saturday afternoon to watch college football. It was a bit empty but it was also a bit early in the season (first UT college football game). The game wasn't playing on their TVs when we got there but the staff found the right channel for us and made sure we had a good view. They have a bunch of great TVs - perfect for watching any sport!
We sat down for some drinks and good food. There are no beer specials but everything is decently priced. They have wings with 10+ different sauces... they were delicious. The cheese fries were pretty good, too! The bar staff was really friendly and I will definitely be back.

don't normally find myself in sports bars--but headed downtown to see the yankees friday night. mudville has great food--and is inexpensive. wings were great, salads were huge, burgers looked awesome. I also found out they deliver all over downtown which is great for me because I work downtown and order food in all the time.

this place is awesome---they have all you can eat wings and beer for 2 hrs for $18 per person. the wings are great. the best in nyc--i went for a work event and come back every sunday for football. the best part about the football is you can watch all the games at the same time.

Being from Buffalo, I will attest these are the best wings in New York City. They also have an internet jukebox with 10,000 songs, but the bartender has been known to skip your song if she doesn't like it. Great low-key hangout when you don't want to feel like you're in a city.

Just happend to walk-in for the first time, and felt right at home. The wings were meaty (I actually order too much), and the sauce was great. The Servers were a great conversation, and they had every game on. Plenty of TVs to go around if you want to watch something else. Great Place, and I will return!

Mudville has, bar none, the best buffalo wings around. They are terrific, very big and meaty and the sauce selections are delicious, so flavorful and tasty. Actually, the mild sauce has just the perfect amount of hotness, everyone will be pleased. Yummy blue cheese too, not the cheap watery kind. And I've heard the burgers are amazing. There's lots of joy in Mudville! Plus, they serve beer and they deliver all night!
