This place is out of control! There is so much drama! I went in with my sister who had a guft certificate from an auction we attended and within a moment of walking in the door I saw one of the gentleman that works there yelling at the receptionist and another younger girl whom im assuming was a stylist. I couldn't believe it! I kept hearing how nice the customer service was, and all though the coffe and tea gestures are pleasing its never enjoyable when someone is screeching from the other side of the wall. To top it off I found out he was the owner. Wow. Even after mys sister's hair was done I had watched two hours of betting when either the receptionist would cry or if the owner would just shuttup. he was still ranting when I left. Not to mention half the stylists in there need a makeover before they start helping others with their looks.

I've been going to Industry since I was a teenager (I'm now 25). I didn't even live in the area until this past year and would travel from Albany or NYC just to get my hair done! I've never trusted a stylist like I trust Matt. He is AMAZING. I've literally told him he had free reign over my hair and that I didn't want to know anything til I was done, and I've NEVER been let down.

I came crying from an appt in NYC that cost me $300 and left me looking like a skunk the day before a photo shoot to Industry and within 3 hours I loved my hair again.

It's worth the money and time to me to walk into a salon and not be scared about how I may look when I come out.

Any good salon is going to have a waiting list... that's how you know it's good! All you have to do is make your follow up the same day and you'll be fine.

They are also all very nice over there. They know their products and are in over all good moods. Always smiling, always friendly and professional.

I even go there for my up-do's for Halloween and such.

If none of that made you want to check them out then maybe the fact that Matt resembles Johnny Depp will :) lol. <3 them.

Pros: The coffee while I'm waiting!!

Recently had a cut and color @ Headquarters in DeWitt by Jason at the referral of a friend.

I was impressed at how down to earth and friendly they were.

The salon is not flashy, maybe a bit outdated as far as decor goes, but they took the time to listen to my concerns and gave me what I wanted (no suprises!).

Would definately return and recommend them to anyone.

I went here a couple months back and had some hilights. They turned an ugly shade of ORANGE. I have dark hair and it's hard for me to find someone who can actually give me what I want. (not orange). No compensation given. Just aggrivation... In a long attempt to find somone I finally did at Liz Lanza's. I am not sure why people in Syracuse can't do what my new colorist made seem so easy..hmm. I don't recomment this place. If you want professional and expert service, try Jillian at Liz Lanza's!

Matt and Brian are both amazing- I went to them for years and even trusted Matt to cut off my hair that was past my butt (yuck, I know) to above shoulder length when I was in my early 20's. The thing some people need to realize is they are very honest- if a color or cut will look stupid on you, or not work- they will tell you! I appreciate that. I live in MD now and I have been allover trying to find a good place. Every time my sister & I visit Syracuse we get our hair done b/c no one can manage our crazy hair but them. I pay over 300$ to get my hair done here, and I'm still never totally happy. If I could I would kidnap them.

Ya know, I have heard about the buzz at Industry from a couple people. Ummmm, not sure what they are thinking! I had my hair hilighted and cut and styled. My color was so ugly and unflattering to my skin tone. My cut was uneven. I have never left somewhere so unhappy. I asked for a compensation and got nothing! I am so mad so I am on here to let everyone know not to waste your money. After scrambling for a new place to fix my hair, I found Liz Lanza's. Luckily my new stylist knew what to do to get rid of my brassy tones and cut my hair straight. So, kudos to her. The prices are similar to both, but at Liz Lanza's, it's money well spent! Industry is a time and money waster. Just because it's in armory means nothing!

I just moved to the syracuse area and had tried many salons and just did not walk out satisfied. I have fine hair that is hard to cut and most stylists tend to leave me with that mushroom hairstyle I hate. A customer of mine had a great haircut so I asked her where she got it done and industry was her salon of choice so I decided to give it a chance. When I called to make an appointment the women that answered the phone was so helpful and nice I didn't know what to do. When I went in for my appointment I came to discover that it was a full service salon so like to all women a day of beauty sounded really nice. I ended up having a great cut and color, and a very relaxing manicure and pedicure which might I say lasted FOREVER I don't know what she did different but my nail never looked so good. My overall experience at Industry was great I made my 6 week follow up appointment and can't wait to do it all again.

I have been getting my hair and eyebrows done at Industry for about 4 years. I have always been extremely satisfied with the results I get there. I have been to a majority of the stylists, and theyre very personable and innovated; theyre always onto the newest things in hair and I have always left there feeling very satisfied with my hair and eyebrows. Not to mention, having Bumble and Bumble hair products only adds to my overall satisfaction with the salon. I'll never go anywhere else!!

Went in thinking that this place would be great for special occassion hair (something that didn't look like a prom updo), as this was my 2nd time as I was so pleased by my haircut with Amanda. Ended up getting Jayme and she was negative from the start, saying that what I wanted prob wasn't going to turn out how I thought (Half up, messy w/ big curls) Told her my hair didn't hold curl well and that rollers might help. She ignored all of my comments and threw it half up with a ratty look to it. My girlfriend was with me and wanted hers half up as well. She told her that I don't want yours both looking the same "So I'm going to do more of what she wanted but I didn't do." Neither one of us were happy, even after I asked her to fix mine. Left there feeling like I could have done better myself and made us completely late after she took almost 2 hours to do both of us with not much hair.

I have had my hair cut at this salon by a few of their hairdressers. They have all been average but none of them have done a great job on my bangs. If you have straight hair and need a quick trim, I would recommend it, other than that, I would go somewhere else.

I first started going to A.J. (Amanda) when she worked at Douglas Alan Salon. I must be honest and say I was not thrilled about going downtown, but I did. Truthfully A.J.'s salon was much nicer & more comfortable. Industry is nice and modern but not comfortable at all. I have always liked going to A.J. because I feel like she really does care about my hair. She does my color and always puts a gloss & some sort of special conditioning treatment on it (depending on what she says my hair needs). When she cuts my hair she always does a great job. She is very honest as to what she thinks my hair needs and what will work best for my hair & lifestyle. I have referred some of my friends there they all like her. The only thing most of them say about her is that she doesn't really talk to you too much. Personally I never really minded. I'd rather her concentrate on my hair then idle chit chat. The only other thing I don't like is that all they sell there is Bumble & Bumble stuff. I think allot of these reviews were pretty harsh and maybe you either weren't going to the right person or maybe you didn't express exactly what you wanted or allow them to do what was needed. Bottom line for me...After leaving my appointment with A.J. I feel and look great, so no matter where she is I will go and spend the money because great hair is priceless....

I have been in the Syracuse area for almost a year, I have finally found the right salon for me. Industry is NOT it. I went here 2 times to have 2 different stylists do my hair. I thought it was trendy and a cool place to go, it's not. Mediocre at best. A total rip off for the style and service you get. I did like the 1st girl who did my hair, but she is gone from there. I think they just through in some random people to care for the customers. It was a bad experience going back. I will recommend Liz Lanza's. Finally a place that is cutting edge modern with an excellent staff!

This salon always felt cold to me. I came out with amazing hair but to get it I sat through fights between owners and stylists, and many moments full of tension. It was ridiculous..Its a business and it should have been more professional keeping personal issues private. It wasn't worth it to keep going. It gave me anxiety rather than a relaxing few hours away from the kids.

I went to Brian for years before moving to Florida. I can't believe the complaints that are posted...craziness! Brian was always very sweet and made my hair look amazing with both cut and color.

To those that say they are overpriced, go to Supercuts and get your $10 worth.

I've been going to this salon since the day Matt and Brian opened up. Since then I've moved back to the city (NYC not Syracuse). This is a great salon for someone in a small city like Syracuse. I utterly disagree with the poster above re: their demeanor. Matt and Brian seem to think Syracuse is the metropolis of New York. Throw this average salon into a real city and what you have is just anther average hair cut mimicking about 100 others that waltz through their door.

In fact most women come out with the same cut and color at The Industry regardless of who is doing their hair. What I found incredibly disheartening was the fact that matt and Brian refuse to donate their heavily priced hair extensions to Locks of Love, a charity that provides hair/wigs to young cancer survivors.

Cons: Many..Keep Reading

I have been going to Industry since they opened having followed my stylist from another salon. Even now that she has left Industry I have decided to stay with Matt. He got me in when she up and quit without a word to me the day before my appointment. He did an amazing job and I am so happy that I am with him now. Everyone is super friendly and the new space is awesome!

We recently moved to Syracuse, and having never lived around the city it has pretty much been trial and error as we find places to shop, eat, etc.

When looking for a good salon you should avoid Industry at all costs, the staff is rude. My stylist Jamie butchered my hair to the point I question how she earned her licence to cut hair AND to top it off she gave me an attitude like she was all high and mighty-almost as if it were my fault that she screwed up. I wouldnt trust this girl to cut my dogs hair.

My name is Kristiana. I had just moved to Syracuse about 1 1/2 years ago, from Delray Beach. A neighbor of mine recommened industry to me after I had trouble finding a good stylist. I am so thankful for such a good neighbor, this salon is wonderful. First I was able to get in for an appointment despite the fact that my schedule is so busy. The receptionist was wonderful and was so patient with me and was able to schedule me in within 2 weeks. My stylist ,Michelle, was so amazing. I had asked her about updating my look. I wanted to keep it modern, yet proffessional and she did just that. She knew exactly what I wanted without even looking at a picture. She also showed me styling techniques and ways to do my hair that I could do myself. The entire staff was so friendly and personalable, you got the feeling that they love what they do. Another wonderful thing about the salon is that they carry Bumble & Bumble products. I have used Bumble & Bumble religiously for 4 years and I was so relieved I wouldn't have to resort to my sister shipping me products. The atmostphere of the salon was great as well, very modern & contemporary. I would definitly recomend this salon to everyone.

I recently went to this salon recommend by a friend and 1st found it very hard just to make an appointment. Then after waiting, I found the staff to be very rude and snotty. A owners sister Michelle is so rude and really needs to look at her face eye makeup. It is so tacky and ugly, reminds me of a child trying on makeup for the first time. Anyways, the salon does not do nails, no pedicures, they are way too overpriced for the services they do. The music is horrible. Some kind of techno junk that no one wants to hear. I found this plce to be overrated and just tacky in general. I would not recommend this salon to anyone.

This is the first salon that I've stayed with for more than a few months. I've been coming to Industry to have Steph cut my hair for more than 5 years now. She works with you, consults first at every visit. She also cuts my son's hair. Jess cuts my younger son's hair and she's great at determining what type of hair cut to do for a child.

Overall, this place is much better than you think walking in. At first glance, it seems to be all about the hip scene and getting a cutting edge hair cut, but I have found them very willing to work with me (a quite conservative person) and find a style that I love. Whenever I go, I see lots of men, older woman, younger cutting edge woman, etc. They treat everyone the same and will talk to you about anything. Sometimes they talk a lot about their products, but once you don't express interest, they don't oversell the products. The prices are a little expensive, but all of the hairstylists are worth it. You would pay this much at any other place of this caliber.
