We have been taking both our pups to them for years, but for the last few, we had cut back due to financial situations. All we wanted was to talk to the Doctor before we took our Sara in. We had an emergency and no one answered at their office, so we took her to another recommended Vet. She was diagnosed with cancer. Called Dr. Barry Buchalter's (Dr. B) office to talk to him and the woman (Lucy) on the phone was extremely rude. I was really embarrassed. She talked down to us and talked about Sara like she was a "product" and not part of our family. She wouldn't even leave a message for the Doctor. What happened to your practice, Dr. B? And this woman Lucy, should not even be near the Customer Service Industry let alone a Doctor's Office. I would never visit them again. I was very disappointed.

I moved back to NY almost 2 years ago and I interview all my Vets. Dr. B and his staff while are very busy are the best I have had the pleasure of working with. Zachary is now a little over 13 and I am very sensitive to his age and his health. Zach is in top form and Dr. B helps keep him that way.

My boss gave me an unexpected day off so I wanted to try and get my dogs to the vet. It's rare that I have a day off when everyone else is working. I tried to call and was met first thing with a recording that told me that before I could make an appointment I had to fax over my pets record from our other veterinarian. My last veterinarian was in Baton Rouge and I don't remember their name. I do have receipts I've kept so I tried to speak to the receptionist to see if this was ok or if I would be turned down but was again met with a message that there was no one to answer my call and the mailbox was full. I decided after three more tries that if they were going to be that hard to communicate with, I didn't want them as my vet anyway.

Pros: since I never got to talk to anyone I don't know of any

Cons: for a business that deals in such a personal caring area, it was very inpersonal treatment
