I went there last November for my birthday with a group of 10. The place didn't look too bad from the outside, but once we got in I could have sworn it looked like it was still under construction.

We had no problems with the reservation and the instructor explained how everything worked, but the quality of the equipment horrible. I had to switch helmets three times because the visor was so old and scratched that I could not see five feet ahead of me.

The paintball arenas were quite small for a group of 10 people. Apparently each round only lasts about a minute or two. I guess they do this so all groups get a chance to play, but it doesn't let anyone get into the game. For $50 + dollars, a total of 20-30 minutes play time.

Despite all of its flaws, its proximity to Manhattan keeps the business alive.

One of the best times we've had in a while. My kids drove me crazy to go to this place so I scheduled an outing on a sunday. My kids haven't stopped asking me to go back since.

The paintball center is located in long island city so the commute was real easy as we live in manhattan, all we did is hop on the 7 train at grand central and we were there in about 20 minutes including the short walk from the station. I was surprised to find the queens MOMA, and a big Ice skating facility on the roof next door to the paintball, I think it's called City Ice, plan on going there next month.

Anyway, when you first walk in your hit by the smell of paintballs, I'd suggest bring a change of cloths because the smell will get on your cloths but it will come out in the wash, so does the paint which is more liquidy than regular paint. Also make sure to wear long sleeves, definetly no tees as I saw one guy with a nice welt on his arm playing in a tee.

We paid and received all of our equipment about 15 minutes after we arrived, $42 per player which included 500 paintballs and basically all the equipment. My kids and my wife got the chest and back protectors for free but I had to pay $6 for mine. GET THE CHEST /BACK PROTECTOR!!!

It took a little while before we received our instruction/orientation from a referee which is one of my only gripes because it was about 25 minutes before we actually started playing. But when we started the fun never stopped. The refs were very strict with there safety rules and my son was made to sit out 2 games because he pulled his mask off in an area where you have to keep them on. He wasnt very happy about that but I was. We played with other walk-on players which were all rental players like ourselves so the competition was pretty fair.

Overall we had a great time. If your a competetive person like myself and my family and if you can handle the smell of paintballs and a little hurt now and then, you'll have a great time.

Overall I'd rate this place 4 out of 5 stars for adults, and 5 stars for kids. Like I said my kids can't stop talking about this place.

I was invited to my girl friend's office party which involved going to play laser tag as part of the nights activities. We started the night at NYC Paintball which is a paintball and laser tag facility, this review is for the laser tag, I plan on reviewing paintball in the future now that I know there's a paintball field here in the city.

I met my group at the facility in long island city. Getting there was easy by the 7 train and a short 3 block wall. Upon entering the first thing that gets you is the smell of paintballs which wasnt noticable in the lasertag room we played in. The field was more like a long room that appears smaller than it actually is. They have these huge inflatable bunkers which make you feel like a kid in a giant toy room.

They broke us up into teams of 3 and we had 6 teams. So you don't all play together at the same time if you have a big group like ours. They run 2 teams for a best of 3 which takes about 3 minutes and then they get the next 2 teams, and so on. We played a total of like 60 games in the hour and a half we played so we got alot of fun and very competetive games in. The games are so fast paced that this turned out to be the funnest aeorbic workout we'd all had in a long time,

We found ourselves cheering and also found out who the sore losers were. The payment was cheap, $17.50 per head for the most fun we had in a long time. I highly reccomend this spot, and oh by the way the laser tag guns are real paintball guns you shoot but no paintballs come out of them, its all hooked up to a computer system, absolutley hi-tech geek stuff but really cool.

Pros: Really easy to get to by 7 Train, Good Value, FUN!!!

Cons: Could use bigger field

.

So I finally got to make it out to NYC Paintball. I've played at every field in Long Island and some in Jersey and PA like Skirmish. I play both indoor speedball and outdoor scenario play so I have both woodsball and speedball equipment.

Having said that let me begin. I like this field. It's not the biggest field , they have 2 speedball fields, one is 100 ft x 100 ft and the other they told me is 125ft x 55ft, but they have tons of bunkers that are always inflated with the exception of the Giant X which they had to keep inflating every 1/2 hour or so. The carpet on the fields is not all pretty and green like there photos, photos are probably from when they opened, but patchworked with old and new carpeting, however it has been sewn together and the big field, although slippery, has got the best traction of any indoor i've been to so thumbs up on the turf. The smaller field is a little bit more slippery.

The play is very fast as it is speedball. I think I averaged probably about 1 min per game but this is speedball. The games with noobs ran slower. The noobs tend to sit behind bunkers longer so the games were probably about 3 mins each, definitely longer than the hi-tech players. I loved the fact that they seperated the experienced players with hi-end guns from all the noobs with rentals. When I played I played only with hi-techs which was great because I actually had real competition. At all the other indoors i've been to they mix everyone up experienced and inexperienced together which is fun if your a masochist but no fun if your a noob or looking for real competition. Again thumbs up. Also there were more adult hi-tech players than any speedball field i've been to. Usually it's all 13-18 year olds but this place had alot of 20 and 30yr old guys playing and about 4 organized teams that were drilling. Everyone was really friendly and I would understand why older players like playing here and not having to deal with kids.

The staff is friendly but they had some refs that were great and a couple that really sucked, probably my only real complaint. Some of the refs can be overbearingly loud and annoying with the safety rules. I read a prior post about people walking around without barrel sleeves. There is possibly no way anyone walks around without a sleeve because they kept on yelling at me to put my barrel sleeve on everytime I was coming off the field. This place probably goes overboard on the safety but I guess I understand. Suggestion less high school kids as employees as they can sometimes be obnoxious.

Cleanliness, well its a paintball field so your gonna get dirty, But they have bathrooms which is saying more than most fields. They also had AC but I dont think it was on because it was a little warm. There are plenty of vending machines and they let you order pizza so not bad.

Pricing was really fair. I came on a weeknight and they were running a player special which was $55. I got a full case 2000 paintballs , admission , and unlimited air!!!!! CHEAP!!!
I think rental players get a package of 500 paintballs and the gear for like $36 which is also cheap.

Overall I think this field is actually better than the local indoor fields like hi-velocity and Arena not because of location but simply because I had more fun here than the others. I think they need to have better reffing and definetly a proshop as they dont's have a real pro-shop. I've played here 3 times and sometimes it's been a mixed bag but overall it's a good field.

8 out of 10 Thumbs Up!!!

Pros: Close by, In-expensive, great play and competetion

Cons: not regulation size field, staff is a hit-or a miss

This has to be the most unproffessional paintball field that exist. i know its in new york city but does it really have to act like its in new york city. the place is ran by kids, the service and help was horrible. nobody explained anything. for example i told the guy behind the counter to help me bring down the bps speed on my gun cuz its my first time wit my new gun and he told me to go over to the booth and figure it out. wow. the ref's had attitude problems. the dont enforce the rules, for example, this guy snuck up on me and my friend from the left side, ran over to us, n shot us both multiple times within 10 ft. i told the ref about it, he said, theres no 10 ft rule in high tech paintball. how does that begin to make sense. so the low tech that isnt as bad as high tech gets a 10 ft rule but not high tech?...yea right. there shuld b a 20 ft rule with high tech. the intelligence was very low. didnt enjoy it all, the field is so small and slippy as f***. they barely have things to get cover from. they start you in the worst place possible so that as soon as you try n get cover your out in the open n probably shot about 3 times already. i stood a maximum of two games and then left with disgust. it almost made not want to paintball anymore. i highly recommend you DONT go there if you are serious about having good fun in paintball. i speak the truth, trust me, it is what it is, and thats what it is.

So i finally got to check out this field and was pleasantly surprised. I've read mixed reviews and know players that go there so I finally made it to the field.

Transportation was easy. I got on the 7 Train at Grand Central and was there in less than 15 minutes. Any players know this is a blessing as the closest field is at least an hour away. I usually play at Arena in Babylon.

The first thing I noticed is that this place doesnt look like a paintball field when you first walk in. Im used to grimey wharehouse like spaces, this place looked like a nightclub when i first walked in. It's by far the cleanest facility I've been to. However the field itself was quite slippery. The ref told me their carpet cleaning machine was out for repairs so the paint had built up on the field. He said normally it's not that slippery. When I go back I'll know if this is true.

The staff was a mix of High School Kids and 2 or 3 Older head refs. I played on a Friday Night and although there were like 4 or 5 other groups they got us on and off the field pretty quick. I liked the fact that they mixed the walk-ons by skill level so I got to play with some decent competetion instead of playing with noobs. Arena and most other fields dont do this, they just mix all the high tech players and noobs together which isnt much fun for either player.

Pricing was good. $20 for admission with unlimited air fills and I purchased 1/2 a case off paintballs for $35.

The ref staff was a little inconsistent. Some refs were definetly more experienced than others. It can get annoying havin a high school aged ref yelling at you on the field, but at least they have refs, unlike alot of fields I've played at. I think they should keep the older guys on the field is all.

Overall as a facility I'd rate it a solid 3 but because of the location I have to rate this place a 4 because of the convenience. Before I would have to plan my outings, now I can hop on the train when ever I need to blow off some steam.

I had a fun time because of the patience of my group but the adolescent staff and slippery slippery fields made that as difficult as possible. They have multiple rsvp'd groups and walk-ins that rotate turns on the field. The staff couldn't give straight answers about when people were going to go, get their gear, and were rough around the edges. I'm in my 20s and unless you were very aggressive then you were going to be pushed to the back of the line. I do not recommend

Wow, found a diamond in the rough. There's a paintball field in NYC! Never heard about it although it's been around 3 years or so.

Went for a bachelor party and now i'm hooked. I've been there 3 times.

Only complaint is you get a mixed bag with the refs. I've been there on nights were the refs are fair and safe but dealt with a couple of knuckle head refs who liked to yell alot.

This place is worth coming to. They should advertise more or something because not many people know about it.

Good place.

Brought my 13yr old son and 3 of his friends. He won't stop bothering me about going back. We'd never been paintballen and were nervous but it was alot of fun. I didnt play but my kids were mixed in with other kids that were rental players like themselves. I thought here were to many young kids like 17 and 18 year olds but they were very saftey conscience, maybe a letter overzealous with there strict rules, I don't know if it was a power trip or something,

The place smelled like paint but not to bad. The bathrooms were a little nasty but I got the key to the handicap which was better.

Over all we had a great time and like I said my kid won't stop bothering me about going back.

I'd highly recommend it for kids and I saw alot of adults, kind of a mixed crowd. Only real complaint is that the wait in between some games was a little long.

Worth the trip, be prepared to be barraged by your kid about going back though!

I wouldn't suggest going here to play paintball. The field isn't taken care of very well and they have bad refs that are mostly young kids that don't care to do their job. The prices are decent, but even then its too much for what you're getting. The location is convenient, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get there.
