Hands down worst club ever! Staff is sweet but are constantly being replaced. Manager is a useless, lying, lazy excuse of a man. Flies in the sinks. A.C never works. Something is ALWAYS broken at this club and management will not do ANYTHING about it. They billed me months after I terminated my membership and the Manager David was "out of the office" or "on the other line" or at lunch! DO NOT JOIN BATTERY PARK SWIM AND FITNESS!!!

Worst customer service, do not use. Cancelled my membership on January 5th and they still billed me for the entire month of february. Emailed several times before calling, never got a response. Better value elsewhere.

The facilities are small and often in disrepair. The staff is nice enough but management is slimey and unreasonable. CAUTION: they interpret your membership contract to require a 30 day cancellation period. They say that if you don't comply with they're reading of the contract, then you must pay for an extra month. They also have an elaborate process with no explanation why they need so much time to cancel a contract. My experience was that it was explained to me as a 30 day cancellation period at any time when I was signing up despite bizarre contract wording that is confusing and ambiguous. The cancellation process is almost comical with a huge red box on the notice they require you to fill out, which indicates that people complain all the time about the process.

Battery Park Swim and Fitness is a hidden "gem". Nowhere else in Manhattan will you find a gym with aerobics and spinning classes, a pool, hot-tub, massage therapist, free weights, treadmills and other machines for $70 per month. The only problem is that the gym is a "mom and pop" (i.e. not part of a franchise like LA Fitness or NY Sports) so the hours can be erratic around holidays and things that break down don't always get fixed right away.

Cons: they need more trainers like ammo

The facility could use renovation but the view of the Hudson river from the machines room is gorgeous and the pool is large. The yoga teachers are the best I've known in NYC, caring and smart, really know what they're doing.

The management here is incredibly unprofessional. It is very frustrating to get anything fixed (ie the ac in the cardio and weight room area). Raised the dues and it seems like everything is breaking and not getting repaired. It has a great view. The cardio and weight room area is extremely dirty and the machines are not cleaned enough and the a/c system is NEVER working properly. I like working out inside to avoid the summer heat, but here it is impossible to avoid the heat.

Anyone that say this a great gym works there. The view is tremenddous but the facilities are terrible. It's a nice place to eat a sandwhich while you stare at the water. Otherwise don't go.

Battery park swim and fitness center is ideal for someone who wants a quick in and out gym experience where there are few distractions. This place is very very spacious so you will not have to worry about bumping into other people, or having other people distract you during your workout.

It's like joining a gym in your friend's basement. Smells like the restaurant down below, which isn't a good thing. When I joined, the staff promised upgrades but has been very evasive ever since. No TVs - old machines and few of them. The pool is poorly maintained. It has a nice view but, so does running outside. Join crunch, equinox, nysc or anywhere else.
