The Belvedere Hotel was a terrific place to stay on our holiday trip to NYC! My husband and I, and our two college-age children found it to be extremely clean, quiet, and spacious! It was a short walk to Broadway and to Times Square. The Theatre District location was perfect, and it was an easy walk to all the shops on Fifth Avenue, to off-Broadway plays, and to many other sights. The desk clerks were helpful and friendly. We would strongly recommend it as a family or couples destination.

The Belvedere Hotel was a great place for my Mom and I to stay while visiting New York for the first time one December. We had a large room for only $75 (hoteldiscounts.com) overlooking the street with two king beds. There was a breakfast room on the lower floor that was comfortable and clean with a buffet-style breakfast served for several hours each morning. It was an easy walk to the touring boats and Times Square with the 1/2 price ticket booths. We loved the location and the price! Great place for the person who isn't interested in paying $200 for a hotel room!
PROS: Big rooms; great location
CONS:

Belvedere hotel is a much nicer place to stay while on business than for your yearly family getaway. They are very accommodating to for last minute travel plans that may be deemed as too short notice for some larger, more well known hotels in new york city. Their staff is very pleasant.

Small creepy rooms, same for the hallways, window air conditioner, poor elevators, not interested in customer service, room not ready until after 4pm, when voicing disappointment manager charged $50. Not worth the value.
We've stayed at the Belvedere twice now. It's just off 8th avenue and it 's very quiet. It's a short walk to all the theaters. Rooms are average size for a room in New York. We had a king size bed-it was so comfortable that we fell asleep quickly and hated to get out of it. Bellmen are fantastic. They will help you with whatever you need and are NOT the kind that hold out their hands for a tip. Good courteous service from everyone. The only drawback is that the elevators are small and take too long to get to you. They can probably fit 6 people if crammed in and maybe 4 with luggage. Most people don't know to use the side elevator. It's to the right of the lobby near the stairs. The left side elevator is a service elevator, but we go on it a few times out of frustration. There was also no air conditioning in the hallways which made waiting for the elevator seem even longer. The air in the room was fabulous.
If you want a good hotel that is clean and decent and friendly, it's worth the money!
Pros: quiet; friendly staff; clean
Cons: small elevators
A friend and I stayed here and we were absolutely pleased with such wonderful service, clean, comfortable rooms, and affordable price. The hotel is located two blocks from broadway... so take in as many shows as you like. Next time I return to New York, this hotel will be where I stay!
Pros: location, room size, service
We stayed at this hotel for Thanksgiving 2003. It was a wonderful stay! The staff was friendly and very helpful. Always right there when we had special requests for extra towels, etc... They even switched our room when one of the beds in our first room was too firm for our taste. It is right in the heart of it all with a wonderful little Mexican restaurant right next door. It is within close walking distance to the Times Square area and the Subway is just a block away. The rooms are decent sized for NYC and the water pressure in the shower was excellent! The rooms are clean and the lobby is beautiful! If you are looking for a wonderful hotel in the heart of it all... I would definitely recommend the Belvedere!
Pros: Cleanliness, Staff, Location
My wife & I just returned from a six night stay at The Belvedere Hotel. We booked the "NY1" through the Belvedere and loved it! We made some requests when we made the reservations in April including arriving late(midnight) and our requests(King bed, 8th floor above) were set when we arrived without even asking! That was the first example of a week long attachment with quality service from all staff. The room was very nice and clean with good A/C. The only thing we would suggest is to have dresser and mirror in room together to allow another dressing area with power outlet. Bathroom could be larger especially the sink, but it is NYC and I have stayed elsewhere and bathrooms are always small in city. We enjoyed breakfast each morning and saved $ as a result. Incredible price value with this convenient location!!!
Pros: LOCATION!, PRICING!, FRIENDLY TOTAL STAFF!
Cons: , Mirror/dresser
My friends and I came to NYC last summer for a weekend trip and we stayed at the Belvedere. This hotel is amazingly CLEAN, the staff is very friendly/helpfull. (We wanted to know where we could find some cool places to eat and they were eager to help us and look through the phone book) The rooms are well put together and the marble bathrooms make a nice luxurious accent. The hotel is in a great, quiet location, only a short walking distance from Timesquare which makes everything easy to reach. My friends and I are going to NY this May and I made sure we booked this hotel again. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Pros: CLEAN, quiet, Quality
Wonderful hotel! First time staying in NY. This is a great value for your money. We changed rooms three times and hotel staff were very accommodating. I work for a hotel in Canada and am very picky about things. The first room was wonderful but beside the elevator. I had read previous reviews stating the rooms beside the elevator got unbearably hot. The second room was quite old and unrefurbished to the new style they are offering in other rooms. The third room was perfect. Great view and nicely refurbished to updated standards! We were also checked in before noon! Very spacious rooms with handy little sink and fridge for storing drinks and snacks. Great little bar right next door to the hotel for nightcaps as well.
Pros: Great Value, Very clean, sink and fridge
This hotel is wonderful. I have stayed at Helmsley and Salisbury. The Belvedere makes them look like 1 star hotels.
The rooms were clean and spacious. No wallpaper was peeling off of the walls. The bathrooms were marble and tastefully deocrated. The beds were comfy, too. The staff was more than delighted to help us anytime we needed something. It is close to everything. I cannot say enough wonderful things about it. The price is right so "come on down." You won't be disappointed.
Pros: clean, inexpensive, beautiful
My husband and I stayed at the Belvedere on our vacation in July of 2003. What a great bargain! I also have never been in such a clean hotel room! Excellent location! We also loved the kitchenette. Nice to have a sink, countertop, and refrigerator. I can't say enough about this hotel. We will definitely stay at the Belvedere again! It was a bit hard to catch the elevator when we were checking out as it was full of other people (and their bags) trying to check out too, but that is a small price to pay for all of the positives about this hotel.
Pros: Clean, Location, Inexpensive
I searched far and wide to find a great hotel and great deal for our vacation in July and this was it. The lobby is beautiful, there are plenty of restaurants nearby and easy walk to times square and central park. We will stay here again.
Pros: kitchenettes, decor, staff
Quiet location, clean rooms, king sized bed (very unusual for midtown Manhattan rooms) were plusses. The only drawbacks are that the bathrooms are very small and there is no room service - but all of New York is basically room service since you can get anything delivered. High speed internet access was also unavailable in our room ("standard" room, perhaps available in "suites"). The kitchenette was great to have around, too.
Pros: Inexpensive, Clean Spacious Rooms, Kitchenette
Cons: Small Bathrooms, No Room Service, No HighSpeed Internet
In a city renown for overpriced tourist traps, the Belvedere is clean and unpretentious. You can choose valet parking or opt to park a block away in a valisated garage. Two blocks to Times Square and close enough to the Olympia Diner for an economical meal. The rooms are clean and fairly spacious, with in-room coffee, internet access & games, etc. Nothing will take your breath away, but if you want that, pay the money and go to the Plaza. The Belvedere gets you a nice room in the heart of the city at a price that will bring you back.
Pros: Reasonably priced, Valet parking avail., Business center
Cons: No pool, Don't go for the view, Lacks snob appeal
Hotel was great. Clean, updated, good breakfast, good value. My only complain would be the very small bathroom sink. Water gets all over the place when you wash your face. That was my only gripe. The location is fine with subway lines very near. It is near times square but far enough to aviod the noise. Our room was spacious and very quite. (we were on the 12th floor -very good!). Service was excellent and people very nice.
We just spent 3 nights at the Belvedere and we were very impressed. The staff is extremely helpful. The hotel is very clean (I'm a stickler on this!) and it was so close to everything that we wanted to see/do or was close to a subway entrance that would get us there. It was far enough away from the avenues and on a one-way street, making it relatively quiet, except for the fire station nearby.
Pros: great location, extremely clean, good value
Cons: near a fire station
This European style boutique hotel was very conveniently located in Midtown, though not directly (rather right off of) a busy street which kept the noise level to a minimum. The doormen and staff were very accomodating, and you got a strong sense that the doormen and other staff had your security in mind at all times (I was a woman traveling alone on business). A very eclectic mix of nicer restaurants and even nice cheap restaurants were very proximal, making it easy to find good meals at the end of a long day. The rooms were larger than most for this price. I couldn't have been happier, and will be a repeat customer.
Pros: Room size, Staff, Inexpensive
On a quiet street but very close to lots of action and restaurant row, this affordable hotel is hard to beat. Friendly staff and cool art deco lobby, plus decent rooms with fridge, coffee, and microwave in case you want to eat your leftovers - but who can, with all the great dining choices so close. My husband stayed here on a business trip, and I tagged along to take in the city. I hope the prices stay reasonable here.
Great overall experience, resonable room rates (even during new years) Nice service and friendly housekeepers (very rare in NYC). Stayed here for 5 nights after Christmas and through NEw YEars. Location is great, far enough away from TS to not hear too much noise, but close enough to get just about anywhere quickly on foot. Will be staying here again in Spring. Bathrooms are roomy.
Pros: location, cleanliness, housekeepers
This hotel was great. It is in a perfect location for sight seeing and walking to key places. The room was very clean and beautiful. The bed was comfortable and the service was excellent. The prices are also very good. I would stay here again. We stayed for 8 days and they took good care of us!
For the price, location, cleanlines, and unbelievable staff, I can't imagine ever staying anywhere else next time in New York. This was my 5th time in New York. I finally found my 'home away from home'.
Pros: Location, Price, Service
Cons: No Bar
what a great value! our room was very clean and the staff was so helpful. for what we paid, this was the best place in nyc we have been at in 2 years!
Pros: inexpensive, helpful staff
Never having stayed in the heart of the Manhattan, this was a first. Great location, beautiful rooms and great service.
Pros: Location, Service, Elegance
Cons: Only 1 ice machine, Back view lacking, Small elevators
great pace to stay. friendly staff, know all the best places to eat. close to Times Square and the Theaters. Will be staying there again. Bellman cute.
Pros: front desk, concierge, rooms
Cons: housekeeping, no parking, no bar
I chose Belvedere Hotel and had a nice stay there. The only problem is the housekeeping service. But the rest was fine.
. The rooms are big and basic this is not a 5 star hotel. The carpets need to be replaced in hall ways and the towels felt horrible. If your on a buget this might be your cup of tea but for an extra 30.00 bucks you could stay some where like the Avalon.
I love the Belvedere. I stayed there from May 18-May 22. It was the best hotel experience I've ever had. THE STAFF IS AMAZING!!!!! They cater to your every need with a big smile on their face. The hotel is so affordable and so nice. You get a nice room, convenient to everything, and it is clean and spacious. I could go on and on. You won't be disappointed. 2 blocks from Times Square, 2 Blocks from the Subway.........you can't go wrong with Belvedere!
Pros: Staff, Rooms, Cost
This is by far the best deal we found for a hotel, and we were not disappointed. Located on a much quieter street than other hotels, this place was great all around. Rooms were spacious and clean, staff was helpful (the bellmen & doormen were especially great). I HIGHLY recommend this place ! We were 1/2 block away from the Engine 54 Firehouse with the nicest firemen around. There's a great diner around the corner (Olympic Diner on 49th & 8th) where we had breakfast every day. We are 3 single girls and we felt totally safe at this hotel. We would definitely come back !
Pros: inexpensive, good location
