Scrumptious and delicious. My brother in law worked there and says it is very clean and he is often the one making the food; it is made fresh. Much care and love is put in to preparing these foods and it shows.

Used to work at the restaurant, food may look appealing but behinds the scenes is different. Food is never consistent and cross contamination is a big problem would not recommend eating their food. They clean the majority of their equipment with ammonia and phosphate based floor cleaner. Food sits around for days before being used to make preparation "easy". Majority of "classic" Phil's recipes have been changed for food cost. Chicken is held for storage bare on the floor inside the walk-in cooler which is dragged through plastic strips touching and contaminating multiple work surfaces. Food either close or past its expiration will be doctored with accordingly to make palatable. Witnessed on many occasions cooked ground beef and chicken wings sitting in open air for more than 2 hours in the hot humid back room. Many of the employees fail to meet even the most basic sanitation requirement such as hand washing and clean clothing. Many of the food they claim to be "homemade" are just packaged ready to cook food service products. Both downstairs and upstairs kitchen are filthy and covered in layers of filth, grease and residue. Many management decisions are made poorly and last second. Rotisserie fresh may seem like a reality but what you get has really been sitting in a holding oven until needed. Many years ago Phil's used to mean quality food but after seeing the operation behind the scenes i now see the primary customer is the all mighty dollar. If you want homemade quality i do not suggest Phil's but rather suggest to try making your own Cornell Chicken complete with real potatoes not potato flakes like the restaurant chooses to use.

...yummy! At least according to my hubby who grew up near Phil's Chicken. I like their homestyle-like cooking. Food is delicious. Better make a reservation on the weekends as it's almost always busy.
