This restaurant is now closed at this location. It is still operating at the W. 4th. St. location where you can get decent, cheap eats. I like the Japanese breakfast.

The food here is perfect, the service is not. But if you're a student or on a budget, this is the best place for cheap vegetarian food. The tahini sauce is nothing short of amazing.

As far as affordable eating in NYC goes this is the best! I've been going to Dojo's for about 17 years now. It's great to eat on the budget, but the service is consistently terrible.

This place has food on the cheap for the starving art student or tourist on the budget. You can get a decent vegi burger if you are vegetarian or vegan.

Anyone on a budget and living in NY has most likely ended up at Dojo's on St. Marks at least once in their lives. Many a vegetarian I know has gotten hooked on their soy burger or hijiki tofu dinners. The food is cheap (the bill for my date and I on Saturday night was under $10 for 2 meals) and some of their dishes are great By far, my favorite thing is their carrot tahini sauce. You could slather it on an old shoe and call it dinner. Deee-licious. My only compaint is the service. No matter when I've been there, the servers have been rude, inattentive and in a major rush to get you out of there. They'll take 15 minutes to bring you a drink, but have your check on the table the second you put your fork down.
