The pool, the classes, etc. are great here. It is rather expensive though, and the start-up fee is very expensive. I'd love to see them expand the weight room since it does get busy at times. But I love the windows and the sunshine, very motivating for excercise. It's the one thing I hate about gyms: that dungeon feel. The YMCA definitely doesn't have that, but they could use more space for the gym.
PROS: pool, sunny exercise room, track, classes
CONS: start-up fee, expense, small

I guess we all have a different rating system when it come to gyms. I am very happy with the Y because it's a great place to workout-plain and simple. It's not the newest or flashiest place on the block, but the are constantly updating the facilites, which means they are constantly striving to improve and not resting on their laurels. You will also find new equipment, both cardio and weight. Minimal time, if any, to wait for equipment. Great employees who are knowledgeable and friendly. Also, free babysitting is available during most classes on a limited basis- an added bonus.
