I've been here twice and had good experiences both times. Both times I went was a Thursday for Karaoke. It was packed! and very hard to get a seat but we managed. It is pretty expensive. The second time I went I wanted to try a new drink

I'd like to share my experience in this place, which is not good by the way. Actually, it's far from good. I called last Friday to make a reservation for Sunday at 2pm, it was the Final of the Eurocup and we were a group of 20 Spaniards

This place is very entertaining! Maybe if these other "bloggers" know WTF they are talking about. Blue Moon, not made by Sam Adams. Seriously, if you were given a taste test of the Wheat Beers you couldn't tell the difference. As for the others, I don't know what an opine is and I'm not sure you know what spellcheck is either. Bottom line is it's up to the individual to have a good time. So lighten the f**k up and enjoy your life. You're "opine" doesn't mean sh*t in the long run. Go there and have a good time and stop complaining!

I have been going to Tonic every week for about 8 months. They used to have Blue Moon and Magic Hat 9 and I asked the owner/manager why they got rid of them. He said it was too expensive and decided to replace Blue Moon with Shock Top but funny thing is they are still charging the same as when it was Blue Moon. Blue Moon was even one of the highest selling beers there. He then asked me if I could tell the difference and I said I could, to which he said I was full of sh*t. Now that summertime is here they have started to carry Sam's Summer Ale, although it has been out a few times.

I keep going because the bartenders are really cool and fun. However, they have let a few go for no apparent reason. They also have ~6 big project TVs for sports.

Great bar as long as you don't have to talk to management, still a little surprised at how rude the owner/manager was.

Pros: Bartenders, good food, beer (if its on tap)

Cons: Management

I LOVE eating lunch here. The food is awesome, the portions are great and I love the relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Joe, the manager, is the best. If you haven't gone there yet, you should! You won't be disappointed.

I have been to this Times Square Bar twice. The first time was a busy Saturday night in autumn and it was very crowded. There was absolutely no place to breathe. I hated it then. But, last week I met with some old friends at Tonic on the night before Thanksgiving, and it was perfect. We had some good drinks, lotsa laughs, and got a table immediately. The service was good too, though the waitress had never heard of Blue Moon made by Sam Adams!!!

This place sucks..the bar tenders are dupery (this has happened twice now, that they have charged me extra for drinks and then later escape by apologizing ), the black bouncers are awful ( they r hostile, don't know how to talk or behave to customers. they don't deserve to be in NY ), the service is hopeless,pathetic..This place is not recommended at all. one person can be wrong but if 10 people have the same opine then it has to be true. I would rather quit drinking but won't go to this place again in my life..No matter what.

I live in Maine and while surfing the net I stumbled across the video of TONIC. WOW. This looks like a fun and wild place. I can't wait to try a lobster. Check it out if you are local and write some detailed news so we know what we're in for!

Times Square tourist trap with some staff who think they're working at a much cooler club. Although they do have nice TV's for game watching during the day, pay attention if you open a tab. From several experiences it's not clear that much attention is paid to drinks being assigned to the correct tabs.

I have been to Tonic several times and always enjoy the atmosphere, food, and drinks. My favorites are the Fuji Apple Salad, wings, and the fajitas. The scene is good, too. It just depends on when you go. After work there is a good happy hour and toward the later hour the music gets pumping and the lights are dimmed. One Sunday night I wandered in and they had karaoke. The bartenders sang as well- really entertaining. Overall, I would recommend this as a nice place to have a low-key after work gathering or come on the weekends with friends for the karaoke.

I was dissappointed when the drinks were soft, the admission for a closet space was $20, the environment very hostile, and the music will pop your ears, (very poor sound quality). The drinks have almost no alcohol, it tastes like the juice in my refrigerator. The dance floor was too small and therefore leaving no room to dance with an overcrowded club. I left after only after 45 minutes of boredom, which was a good idea b/c there are many other lounges/clubs that surpasses this place. But I wish I could get money back.

One of the better examples of NYC sports bars. Its only drawback is its in Times Square and is often packed with tourist types. I regular here after work. Its teh best place to catch a game. Great selection of beer. The lunch menu is one of the best, and its "only 9.99" for most of the lunch specials. The lobster special is one of the best deals in teh city. Great bartenders, who are all beautiful/handsome and do a great job. Friendly owners and great people. The music is fun, and not too loud. The TVs are huge and cover every sporting event, including priemiership football.

I come here often as I work in the area. The lunch specials can be suprisingly more gourmet than your typical bar/restaurant type fare. This place is quite the hang out in my office for happy hour and the bar food is so much better than most places I have visited. Favorite nachos bar none! The huge screens are a favorite among my male coworkers. They just need to lose the DJ, the music can s*ck at times. Otherwise, highly recommend!

This three-level bar, lounge and restaurant brings the bright lights and flashy TVs of Times Square inside. Giant TVs hang behind the first floor bar, where local business folks mingle with tourists. A striking red dominates the cavernous main floor, while the second and third feel more intimate with booths and comfy seating. The lengthy martini menu pales in comparison to the food menu that covers ground from onion rings and wings to rib tips and tuna steak.

The manager in this location was very unprofessional and rude. We where double booked for an event, we didnt even get a chance to complain since the manager hung up on us when we tried to speak!! I have never had this type of service anywhere in my life!! All of our invitations had been sent out, the least they could have done was apologies.

Tonic is great for happy hour. $5 cosmos & apple martinis. I've also ordered other drinks and they've all been great. My boyfriend loves the big screens to watch sports on and we've frequented Tonic with large groups because there's something to keep everyone happy. The buffalo wings & nachos are good, typical bar food. The lobster special is a good deal for the price, don't expect gourmet dining. Skin on the mussels and clams-puny, dried up and tasteless. So overall I wouln't go to Tonic for my last meal but it's a great place to hang out with a large group of friends for drinks and snacks.

First of all, let me say that the white chocolate martini is one of the best that you'll find in the city. I worked near Tonic a few years ago, and would frequent this bar for happy hour. The vibe is great, and so are the cute guys who come over from Lehman Brothers.

Now for the nightmare---I dragged my boyfriend here for a drink last summer. We decided to order the calamari, which we had never had at Tonic before, but enjoyed at all other restaurants. Three days later, I found myself in the hospital with one of the most severe cases of food illness (i can't say the p-word I guess) the doctors had seen. I couldn't eat for days, and had more than $1500 of tests done to figure out what was happening to my insides. (Thank God for medical insurance!!) My poor boyfriend was in Vegas for a bachelor party, and was violently ill on the plane rides there and back.

I recovered after six days, but will NEVER eat at Tonic again, even if I do love it deep down. They clearly don't take as much pride in making their food as they do in making their drinks. I was SO sick.

I was here on Saturday night with a friend & my husband for the Indian party upstairs (Bollywood Remix Saturdays) but we decided to grab food first. The music was so loud that when I asked for a Riesling the waitress told me they didn't have it, so I ordered a Grigio. Then I looked at the menu and clearly saw the Riesling on there, so I went up to her to change it. Then we ordered and appetizer & entree to split between my friend and I. The waitress specifically asked me if I wanted the appetizer first or with our meal, and we said appetizer first. We waited forever and our appetizer didn't arrive. Finally it arrived with our meal and it was too much food to receive all at once and I knew it would go to waste. We waited FOREVER for our waitress to get back to us and finally had to ask a busman to get her. When I explained the situation she was very rude and claimed that I didn't tell her I wanted it as an appetizer so she couldn't do anything. I asked to speak to a manager and had to wait FOREVER. The manager did visit us and was very nice when I explained the situation. She did take the appetizer off the bill even though the waitress claimed that they couldn't. After that the waitress refused to check on us and would not even make eye contact. She never refilled our drinks or asked us if we needed anything, and we had to flag her down to ask for parmesan and crushed red pepper (she brought black pepper, which we already had, and we had to flag her down again for the red). She was extremely pointed about ignoring us. That being said, the food was really good and the place was very nice. The music was FAR TOO LOUD for an area where you are trying to order food. The upstairs bar was nice and the indian party was a blast! Great, happening & very safe area. Will be back, but probably not for dinner since our server ruined that experience.

All around I was impressed.
Great ambience and even better projection screen tvs.
The staff was friendly and helpful in handling requests and as one friend put it the waitresses weren't too pushy.
The food overall was above average. Out of the few things I did try the Tonic Wings were noteworthy while their nonspicy version of chicken tenders was underwhelming.
I enjoyed the drinks I had but I have to say after happy hour only the beers were reasonably priced while their mixers were expensive.
As you go up each floor within the building the bar gets quieter because the music simply isn't as loud in the upper floors as it is in the first so if you desire conversation without having to cmpete with the sound system go up a flight or two.

My fiance and I were in New York last night (Saturday night) and after dinner we decided to go to a bar and see if we could catch the Giants/Chiefs game and my fiance spotted Tonic from across the street. We decided to try it out and we're sure glad we did! Outside is nothing great but the inside was gorgeous! We stayed on the 1stfloor where there are Plasma TVs on the wall and even bigger projection type TVs behind the bar. For a SAT night we were happy to see it was not too crowded in the bar section and we got a table near the bar. The waitress was attentive and such a sweetheart. Didn't try the food, but saw HUGE menu!

Try Tonic's Little Devil - Delish!!
PS. $5 cosmos martinis ect for happy hour

Have visted several times since it opened, usually in the late afternoon. Have always found the waitstaff to be pleasant and attentive. The dinner menu has always been good and the lunches are what you would expect. They are not Haute Cuisine but standard fare well prepared. We find the Calamari to be usually excellent. I would agree with one review that seemed to indicate that in the eveings the music and feel is much more suited to a club and not a sports bar. Because of that we usually visit elsewhere in the evenings. Despite that this is one of our favorite places to stop for a bite, some sports and food.

This can be compared to ESPN Zone although I think E-Zone is better. First, the establishment needs more waitresses to speed up service and change that annoying music-it sounds like chanting and crickets!. I must admit I had my hopes up before I went but expect ok food and horrible drinks-the margaritas looked as if they were served in a tea cup masked as a Margarita glass(two guaranteed hard gulps) and $7 for American Draft beer!. Its all Hype if you ask me. This a place where you stop in by accident dont plan to go there.

I gathered a few of my friends for a birthday party at this place and it was terrible. The food and service was horrible. We had reservations for 12 people and they gave us a crappy table under the stairs...all the other tables seat a total of 4. And the worst part, was the DAMN attitude from the waitress; we spent a ton of money here and all I can say it SUCKED...

Went to Tonic expecting to watch the colege football games on a Sat nite around 10pm. Only 1 game on (rest of TVs were on basketball). Music was so loud and lame(Dance techno rap crap) it ruined it. Left to watch games elsewhere.
Try playing some music for rockers , and drop the volume down just a bit for us sports fans
