I went to purchase a football jersey. I asked for assistance from one of the floor managers (Alfred) to unlock the security cord tied to the jersey. He ignored me for 10 minutes because he was too busy flirting which a bunch of girls that walked into the store. To top it off, the other workers saw that I wanted help but no one was even bothering to help.....never again will I go back to that store.

I bought rollerblades for my daughters at Modell's. The people there were actually really helpful when I needed help with the sizing. I was impressed with the service - for a big chain, they actually made it feel personal.

I resented this place when it opened on Church Avenue. They shut down the huge Loews Theatre in the neighborhood and the owners sold the space to Modells and another discount store named Danice.

We don't need another sporting goods store in the neighborhood (we have three of those already). We do need a decent theatre. That said, there's nothing wrong with the store. It has two floors (it is part of an ex-movie theater). They have more clothing for men; the women & childrens section is upstairs and is considerably smaller. Some of the stuff is expensive (as they carry name brands) but you can always find many bargains here and they have a substantial clearance section (mainly for men---but some of the stuff like joggin suit jackets are unisex). Surprisingly, the sneaker section is very limited. They also have fitting rooms there.

PROS: Acceptable merchandise, friendly staff, Clearance Items
CONS: I want my movie theatre back
