S&S Heating and Cooling were listed on the Lennox web site as an authorized repair company. Boy did I make a mistake hiring them!

My central air conditioner was overflowing its emergency overflow tray with water spilling onto my floor and through the ceiling below. Tech rep, (Wilson G) came and immediately tried to sell me a new tray saying it was too small and it that it was leaking. I refused saying the emergency tray's exhaust pipe should be repaired (cleared) first because it's not letting the water out of my house from the emergency tray. Furthermore, my tray was not leaking, it was holding water and overflowing its sides and onto my floor! He also tried to sell me a overflow cutoff switch which I also refused because it did not fix the root cause of my problem. So after fussing with my system for several hours he assured me I would not have a problem. 2 hours later I had another flood! Argh...

Well, I had them back a total of 5 times paying them over $1000 and they still could not fix my problem. They just kept trying to sell me more replacement parts. During the 5 service calls they claimed that my internal drain pan was cracked and leaking which I was skeptical about because the unit was not leaking from inside the chassis (which I later discovered), would have indicated a problem with the internal drain pan. So, I told my wife to instruct them to leave the old pan for my inspection when I get home from work. After checking the internal drain pan, I discovered the pan was not cracked but, a (difficult to detect) hole looked like it was punched through the bottom of the tray. And, later that evening I had another flood!

I've made several phone calls, sent email and mailed a certified letter to the owner of the company (Frank Sofia) complaining of my experience. NO RESPONSE

I then hired another company the following week and they agreed that the damage to my internal drain pan could not have occurred on its own. Furthermore, they fixed my problem in 2 hours flat for $400! I haven't had a problem since August (it is now November).

I have logged complaints with Lennox, the Better Business Bureau, Nassau and Suffolk County Consumer Affairs about this.

I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH S&S HEATING AND COOLING AGAIN! They also go under the name of S&S Fuel Company in addition to the name listed on this web site (i.e., Perma H&C Corp).
