When I finally grew tired of the hideous grey backsplash in my Soho flat, a friend of mine suggested Country Floors. Being a Londoner, and a new transplant to the colonies, I mean States, I thought my friend had gone mad. Why would anyone go to a place called "Country Floors" to update their kitchen, let alone any room in their home. Well, this friend happens to have impeccable taste, and is also an incredibly talented designer, so I thought I would give him the benefit of the doubt, and at least humor his sensibilities. I also bet him a dinner at Nobu that I could never find any tiles at a place called Country Floors. After walking into the showroom I could hear him in the back of my mind already ordering the Kobi beef which I would be paying for. The range was nothing short of gorgeous! The most wonderful salesperson helped me select and design a random glass pattern for my kitchen which is absolutely to die for, and I left with so many ideas for other projects. Unfortunately I can't start any of them until after I finish paying for that dinner!

Pros: Fantastic Selection, Wonderful Service

Cons: None

We've ordered a number of tiles from them and been disappointed twice when there have been problems as they really made no effort to help solve them. In fact, one of the employees yelled at me when I came in to discuss the problem.

Pros: Good selection

Cons: Expensive and may not help when there are problems

The tile selection was no doubt gorgeous here- even the window display is just beautiful. However, the store was not too busy when I went and I had to wait a whiel to be helped. They also were not too helpful at suggesting tiles to show me when I asked, but they were informed when I asked about specific tiles. They have some very high-end tiles here, restored tiles and antique tiles, some beautiful italian and french imports too- but these are obviously very expensive. Given the neighborhood and selection of several expensive tiles, I was surprised to see that there were some cheap ones avilable too- I found ones I liked at only $3 a tile.
