.

I went to this place to get an estimate for replacing the exhaust manifold on my Chevy Caprice. I went there because the yellow pages ad promises "we fix cars cheap! and we're honest" (that should have been a tip off). The shop is covered with signs how they are cheap and how they don't cheat (another tip off). I asked for an estimate. This is what they did (the manager and another guy, maybe the head mechanic), in between calls on their cell phones, some of which lasted 15-20 minutes or longer. They asked me which side needed the replacement, I didn't know (as if that mattered, I wanted an estimate to compare prices, give me an estimate for both then). They went to my car in the crowded and narrow parking lot, and the manager guy asked the other guy to start my car, to put it in drive, to step hard on the gas and to step on the brake at the same time, so he could determine where the leak in the manifold was (how stupid). The car lurched forward, barely missing the other cars and us in front of it. A pop was heard and a puddle of brake fluid appeared under my car. My brake line burst because of their stupid experiment. After this happened, there was no concern on their part that they damaged my car, no concern about my safety (or others' on the road), no offer to fix this, some BS response when I asked that it be fixed ("mechanics went home"). I went home (on the other side of town) without brakes, in hilly Syracuse, a very hair raising experience, a hazard to myself and to others. And because of the time, there were no shops along the way that would fix this. Luckily, no accident. These guys are totally reckless and irresponsible. As for the estimate (they still didn't find out which side it was), their estimate for this and their shop rates are no different from the others, so that part is a crock, too. And, by the way, if you want to find where the exhaust leak is, you raise the car on the lift and you look under; if it could have been seen from above the engine compartment, I would have noted it myself.

PROS: none
CONS: untruthful advertizing, irresponsible, no concern for safety

.

Nase provides car repairs inexpensively. I had a broken door handle, and the dealer wanted over $400 to repair it. Nase did the job for $99, and was able to do it on the day I brought it to them! Dealers think that you can wait forever for car repair.
