I have been a Proud Customer since 1976. Automat has taken all my cars over the years to a Better and More Enjoyable Level.
In February 2014 Automat started Restoring my 1964 Amphicar. It is now better than Original Condition !!
They have also Customized my 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser, 1972 Volvo 1800 E, 2008 Audi R-8, 2002 Mercedes CLK 430, and 1966 Alfa roadster.
Their workers are Truly the Best in Mechanical, Electronics, Upholstery and Solving Problems !!!!!!!!
The Craftsmanship is PERFECT !
The Completed Work was on Time !
You will be Very Happy with the Results from Automat

I called them to re-do my motorcycle seat as it was very uncomfortable. They advised me that they do such work and to bring down your seat for an estimate. I met Tim (Owner) who was welcoming at first and greeted me with a smile. We spoke very briefly about how he will make the seat more comfortable and then said it was $200. When the seat was done it was more uncomfortable than before. After getting into a heated argument sparked by Tim's unnatural way of handling a customer's simple statement that "I am not happy with the result and craftsmanship, may you please fix it", he stated "I added foam on top of the existing material if you don't like it go buy another seat" I had told him that this was not what we agreed upon, please either do what we agreed upon or return my money. He insisted this was what I wanted and refused to fix it and after insulting my grandfather and I, he walked away with no urge to satisfy his customer. This is not a real way to run a business.

7/15/2013 We at AutoMat are a family business for over 57 years in the automotive restoration and customizing field. We have achieved success by turning out great work and treating people right. More than 2/3 of our business is from repeat customers and those they refer. Occasionally a problem may arise, and we deal with it like gentlemen. In this case, our customer (Nabeel) has voiced a complaint, but he has left out many of the details that would give a clear picture of the issue. Nabeel originally brought his motorcycle seat to us and said it was uncomfortable because it was too hard. I told him we can add a layer of memory foam to it to soften it's feel. I then set up the seat as a test with memory foam on top so he could try it. After testing it he asked if we could add two layers. I then set up the test with 2 layers. He tried it and approved it. I then showed him the black motorsport vinyl we would use to reupholster the seat with built up padding. It very closely matched the original seat and he approved that as well. We wrote up the work order accordingly and agreed to a $190 price. Once the job was complete, he tried out the seat in our showroom, saw we did the work he had requested and once again approved it. A few days later, Nabeel came back and said that now the seat was more uncomfortable and wanted all of his money back. I explained that we did exactly what he wanted, and that we could modify it further but that he would need to tell us exactly where he felt adjustments should be made. He showed me a another seat he had tried with an entirely different design. I told him that we could not turn his seat into that seat as is was quite different in fundamental shape. I suggested that if knew that other seat is inherently more comfortable that he should buy it. One of the two other men with Nabeel voiced his opinion that we should restore Nabeel's seat to it's original condition and give him all his money back. I explained to him that it was all custom work that Nabeel had contracted for and that it was all done to his specifications and with his approval. I further explained that we could not refund Nabeel, but were willing to work with him to further modify the seat according to his instructions. As I was in the midst of assisting several other customers at the same time, I asked Nabeel to think about what he wanted to do, and that I would be right back to discuss further. When I returned soon after, he was gone. Despite his public complaints, we remain willing to do the right thing and work with Nabeel to make his seat more comfortable, and ask that he return at his convenience.
