Pest Away Exterminating Inc

When bed bugs hit my building and the apartment adjacent to mine was infested, I freaked out. After much research and an excellent reference from an old friend, I called Jeff at Pest Away. We retained K-Nine Dog for a number of apartments in my building and then Al from Pest Away came and did a Preventative Treatment. We also followed their instructions and have caulked all the cracks in the walls, particularly carefully along the walls that are adjacent to the infected apartment. Al summed up my sense of Pest Away's perspective on customers... when asked why he liked working in this industry, he said "I like to help people".

I can't believe how unprofessional this company is. my apartment was in pretty bad shape. I explained to the owner that the problem was throughout my entire place. He recommended I send everything out to be fumigated and then they would come over and treat my place. I spent a lot of money and time packing up everything and hiring a moving company. When the guy from Pest Away came over, all he did was steam my closet spray the same area and the window sills. I asked the man if he could take care of the entire apartment and he said no, that this is all that needed to be done. Of course this didn't correct my problem and since non of my phone calls were returned and no one came back to rectify the situation I hired a much more knowledgeable company. Pest away was a complete waste of money, unprofessional, overpriced, unknowledgeable etc. working with the other company is like night and day. How these people are getting away with what they do is beyond me.

I am friends with the super and so far he has received numerous complaints about the service people and the services pest away provides. the service people are not the brightest and make everyone uncomfortable. However, the biggest problem is they are not doing much. all the neighbors had the same problem and pest away hasn't rectified anything. I know our building is trying to break the contract (which they were in breech of) and go with a more professional company that does the job.

I have been an apartment resident of NYC for almost 15 years. I grew up on Long Island in a home. I have used many pest control companies before. Most of them were just plain terrible. They showed up late. They never showed up. They never got back to you. The office staff and customer service were simply awful. I asked around to some friends and family if they could recommend an excellent and outstanding pest control company. Most of them said that they have bad experiences as well. One of my best friends told me about Jeff Eisenberg and Pest Away Inc. in Manhattan. I figured why not let me give them a try. I was more than happy that I chose them. They have an office centrally located in a very nice area of Manhattan. The office staff and Jeff were extremely friendly and always nice to me. They always came on time and even came early a few times. I loved their customer service. They did the job pest control removal job more than extremely well and when I had any further problems they always came back to fix it. They answered all of my questions about pests and insects. I have been insect and pest free since I started with them with 4 years ago. Pest Away Inc. and Jeff Eisenberg really and definitely know what they are doing in pest control industry. That is why NY Magazine gave them the best company in the industry in a previous best of the year edition. I am sure that they will make the magazine again this year. I would give them 5 stars and highly recommend them to everyone. I have told everyone that has a business or apartment to use their pest control services. You will be really glad to have used them. All the people that I told about Jeff and Pest Away thanked me very much for the business refferal and were also really happy to have used their services. They know what they are doing and do it very well. Thank you.....

My problem was throughout my entire apartment and instead of going to the source of the problem, they just sprayed a few areas and the problem never went away. I called several times to get them to come back but the owner, never returned my calls. How they stay in business is beyond me.

after carefully researching companies, I believed the positive reviews and hired this company. I should have realized that the bad reviews were there for a reason. When I originally spoke with the owner, he seemed to be quite knowledgeable and offer an "eco-friendly" solution which I like, especially as someone with pets. However, the problem was never resolved and after numerous visits and being charged for each one, I realized he and his staff had no idea what they were doing. I had to hire another company and now everything is fine. He refused to refund my money is will not answer my calls.

I have called upon this company many times over the years to solve all kinds of various pest problems that brownstone owners deal with. I happen to misplace thier number and retrieved it from this site. At first I was dimayed to see the recent barrage of reviews but after careful review I see that they seem a bit contrived and is the antithesis of every experience I have had with them over the years. Some of the things thye have been accused of arent even part of their program which makes me highly suspicious of the actual writers of these reviewers. I would hate to see one of the few eco responsible companies in this city be trashed by one person. I have never gotten anything in writing nor ever neeedd to. They have taken my credit card, and they have come back free of charge even after the warranty has expired.

when I called Pest Away and spoke with Jeff, he couldn't have been nicer and he assured me he could and would solve my problem. There was a lot of construction going on in my building and was told this is why I had these uninvited visitors. He sent someone three time, and each time I was told, this should do it. After the construction was over, the problem still continued and he said not to worry that he would send someone again and that I didn't have to pay. This never happened. I left several messages but he never returned my calls and was forced to hire another company. I see now why in one of his complaints it said to get it in writing.

I found this company first on here and then by a friend who has been managing buidlings for years. He swore by them. he was indeed correct. I don't really give credence to some of the trashing below and the fact that they dont take credit cards is not indicative of a good or bad company. They actually charged less than some of the other places i called that did take credit card. They asked all the right questions about my kids and pets and the techs were nice and did what they were supposed to. People should always do their homework before they engage in such services.

If I wasn't so frustrated with this company I would have never found these reviews. Bad reviews are there for a reason and I only wish I had read these before I use their service. They are very pleasant initially but my problem never went away. They don't keep their promise (which you should get in writing) and they don't take credit cards (that should say something). I paid them when they first came and each additional time and I'm so upset I did. I trusted them but they don't know what they are doing. They won't refund my money and they never returned my calls. I suggest if you plan on using them to get everything in writing (and stay away from companies that don't take credit cards).

These are guys are very very good. These three bad reviews seem a bit contrived to me and is so far from my experience that it seemd like Jeff has anangry ex girlfirend or a jelous competitor. I checked them out pretty well, with Btter Business Bureau and a number of other places . They have an excellent reputation I reccomend that people should not use only one source or the internet to check out these places. If they are good there will be lots of other good information.

They spent a good deal of time discusing my issues and more omportantly lived up to their warranty.

I'm so thankful for the internet being able to share my experience and frustration with others before they make a mistake. I only wish I had seen some of the bad reviews earlier. The company never rid me of my problem and they promised to send someone back and never did. I too question how this company stays in business. I'm going to see if there is something I can do to about the lack of service and being ripped off.

I completely concur with the last person's review. I don't know how these people stay in business doing what they do. They use chemicals that aren't "eco-friendly" and they don't do the job. this company is a joke and I hope someone shuts them down.

I'm not sure how they received any positive responses, I can only assume that they wrote them themselves. They call themselves eco-friendly and I'm not sure why. They use the same chemicals that my building monthly exterminator uses along with steam. Unfortunately, all it did was spread things around. It cost a lot of money for 5 minutes of their time and didn't do a thing. I ended up hiring another company and in my process to collect my money back from them, I found I wasn't alone.

Our building was infsted with bedbuggers. The board spent tens of thousands of dollar on different companies and it only got worse.I was out of my mind as I watched my 2 year old get eaten alive each night. Our managment co. found Pest Away and they made the difference. They used this intensive heat treatment and held a series of educational meetings to educate the shraeholders on bed-bugs. Their whole methodology was well thought out and took into account the whole building a opposed to just the apartments. Our nightmare is over.

I must say that Pest Away has proven itself time and again on a variety of tough problems I have encountered over the years. I have tried to use cheaper guys for what I think is simple problems, but it never seems to work. They refused to spray for my typical NY pest problems, and they do it to protect me and because their method is safer and more effective. I have found that sometimes I pay a few dolars more, bu I get the service I need. I going to remember that for now on.

It' s quite hard to believe that this company would spray all over an apartmnet for waterbugs. I originally wanted it, almost demanded it, but they reassured me that it was not the best way to solve a problem. I trusted them and they were right. I found them to be quite nice and very professional. The most impressive thing was 20 days after my 90 day warrranty was over they threw me an extra service for free. I had gone over 60 days without a problem and I saw only 1 more waterbug. They are nice good people, They were Best of NY in NY magazine for a reason.

We have no idea who wrote those good reviews but don't trust them. When we first phoned them, we spoke to one of their account rep and he sounded very nice and somewhat professional. We made an appointment for the following day. The exterminator that came over was not only incompetent but also rude and very unprofessional. We had a waterbug problem and he just spray all over our kitchen floor with no regard to our safety. Throughout the entire time, he kept staring at my wife making us very very uncomfortable! When we asked him to be careful, he got defensive and told us to "chill out". The story gets worst. When we paid him, he had the nerve to ask for a tip!!!! To get him out of our home, we gave him $5. When we phoned the rep to complain about the service, the rep couldn't care less about us and said, I quote, "you should have tip better".

This company will happily take your money but they won't solve your problem. I spent thousands of dollars and removed everything my apartment in order for them to treat my place and all they did was spot treat the closets. the problem came back after two weeks. they never returned my calls. I hired a new company that came to my place and assessed the situation. They ended up treating the floors where the problem was and all is fine.

I have been using Citisearch for quite some time. I have gleaned many very good stores and services from the copious reviews. I have used Pest Away on a number of occasions for a variety of diferent pest problems. In fact, I have given their name out a number of times and been thanked by those recipients . I happen to notice these two consecutive bad review that seemed to stick out from a barrage of so many good ones. Those two bad reviews were clearly not true in a variety of ways. Anyone who deals with them would never claim they are not knowledgable and are far from a small place. I happened to notice that these reviews were written a day apart . I would hate to have someone misled by somone who may not have been happy with their service but has gone far beyond the truth to make their point. The difference is clear to anyone that speaks to most other places that they have a safer approach. They were the only one place to ak each time if i have any small children, health issues and the like.

they may be "eco friendly" but they basically still use chemicals and they don't address the entire situation, they just do what most building exterminators do sprinkle a little spray and don't solve the problem and you'll end up starting from scratch with another company. Don't invest with this company - they are a tiny company with minimal knowledge and friends in pr - they should have their license taken away.

I was forced to use my landlords crappy exterminator to get rid of a these bedbugs. 9 visits later they were still eating me alive. They sent in a second company and they soaked the landlord for 12 visits. I had stopped paying rent, but i had to live in an infestd apartment. I spoke with a Landlord tenant attorney who actually reccomended these guys. They were great. They attacked the apartment in a way nobody else had. They used some new fangled heat technology and found nests in places nobody else bothered to look or spray. In under 4 weeks they had gotten my place down where i got no bites. They even wrote a letter to my girlfriend stating I had no more problems. I paid them myself and will be deducting it from future rent as per my attorney's direction. The conclusion is that most landlords dont want to spend for a reputable company.

I had this clothe moth problem that was eating at my expensive sweaters for 2 years. I had been through 3 exterminators that did not solve a thing. These guys explained the whole process, they came in with this heat machine and deep treatment. It has been 5 months and not a single hole. When you talk to them you just get a good sense that they know what thye are doing. I don't understand why other well known places cannot solve somthing that has been around for hundreds of years. This place has a real nice staff, and showed up rigt on time. Definate keeper for all my pests, hoefully this is th end of pests forever.

It wasn't easy, and it required a lot of vacuuming and some cash, but Pest Away saved my apartment. Those nasty biters are gone now thanks to Pest Away, and I can sleep again, and visit friends again: I got my life back. The staff is friendly and helpful but firm about procedures; they need to be. Follow their directions and you too will be good to go. If they could solve my problem, they can solve yours. There is hope.

I am just paying my respects here, for finding Pest Away on this site. I have a brownstone that had this rodent problem for the longest time and nobody seemd to be able to solve it. These guys are like scientists in the way they were able to determine how they were entering the place and where they nesting. I undertsand why they were rated Best in NY , by NY mag.

These guys I found to be really nice, smart and patient. I saw them written up a few times iin the Daily News and NY magazine so I called them when my cheap landlord kept sending me their crappy exterminator. They are more expensive than most, but they were worth it because they give you so much info and walk you through the process. I have not been bitten in 2 months. This is the first time I can say that since getting those little bl**d suckers 15 months ago.

I decided to finally abandon the yellow page non sense and do some solid research to find a place that would solve a incredible rodent problem. I was pleasantly surprised by the consistent high ratings and amazing coverage of Pest Away. Dateline, Prime Time LIve, CNN, Front page of NY times, and dozens of green and environmental places. I figured this is a must try. I went in with high expec tations and somewhat skeptical at the same time. These guys were superb on all levels. They call you back, they show up on time, the techs were very nice and gave you a comforting feeling that they can solve it. They ended up solving my problem and 6 otehr apartments in the building. The managament co was amazed themselves and I think they ended up using them in other places. The owner is Jeff E. He is a nice guy and talked me out of monthly service, that was refershing.

Thanks to Pest Away I can sleep again! When I discovered I had Bedbugs I thought I would never sleep again. Those creatures are worse than vampire bats....In a panic I called around to various exterminators they laughed at me - told me it would take months to get rid of and were totally unsympathetic. I spoke to Jeff at Pest Away and my problems were solved - not only did he "hold my hand" thru the entire process of extermination. He checked up on me. The employees at Pestaway were patient and informative...and within a matter of weeks I could breathe again. And better yet sleep again! THANK YOU!!!!!! I recommend them A++

After reading through all these great reviews and a couple iffy ones, I had no choice but to call these guys to help with my bed/buggs horror. I had paid thousands to two other companies that did nothing to solve my problem. Jeff and his crew kept me very calm, answered all of my 10000 questions and they delivered. They are certainly not the cheapest, but they warranty their work, and they actually solve it. How anyone can have a bad experience with the operation I witnessed seems strange. Thank jesus and Pest Away i am bed /bugg free for over 3 months now for the first time in over a year.

I have been a landdlord for over 30 years. i have had difficult #rodents problem over the years. I have used no less than 20 different exterminating places over the years. I almost came to the conclusion that they were all crappy. However, I must admit through alot if research of one of my tenants, they found Pest Away, who were very thourough, and essentially solved a long standing rodent problem in a short period. This was done safely. My experiences were quite positive. They were right on time for each appointment, kept to their prices, and were courteous and professional. I am pleased to see that there is such a quality exterminator out there.

We paid Pest Away $400 to get help with out rodent problem. They had to come to our apartment three times over three months (two of those times, I waited for them and they simply did not show up, and I had to call to reschedule). We still have rodents running around and when I called to complain after the second frutiless visit, the idiots over there told me it was my fault for not installing a door sweep. During those first two visits no one ever suggested installing a door sweep. I installed one and we still have vermin. Very unprofessional and horrible customer service.

I have to say that I was somewhat unimpressed with this company. While others report PCOs coming for 4 hours to thoroughly treat a 1-bedroom apartment for bedbugs, the Pest Away PCO was only there for 20 minutes on the first spray. Plus, he was 2 and a half hours late for the appointment. He was very personable, but it was clear that he was far from a bedbug expert. He came back a month later to retreat when the problem reappeared, and spent maybe 45 minutes that time, spraying a mixture of an IgR and Suspend SC. So, for the $650 I spent, plus $200 on a vacuum and another $100 or so in chemicals that we sprayed ourselves, we received just over an hour of face time with a PCO. He did throughly spray our entire apartment, but it seems other PCOs that are more familiar with bedbugs do oh so much more. (The PCO stated that he was overworked - doing 10+ bedbug treatments a day on some days.)

That said, if everything works, I'll be incredibly happy. I wouldn't wish this on anyone (except maybe politicians and incredibly gifted research scientists, so that maybe a mix of legislation and new treatments can stop this mini-plague). But we'll have to wait and see.

The main thing is to follow their instructions - vacuum daily, spray Permacide in cracks and crevices and anywhere else they may hide, and launder and bag all clothing. (Among other things.) But we easily put 100+ hours into this, while our PCO put very little effort in. Maybe it's not as bad as some of the message boards state. Or, maybe it is and we're just at the beginning of a long, drawn out battle.

The people on the phone are friendly enough and act as part-time counselors when necessary, and Jeff (the owner) seems like a good enough guy, but overall my experience was OK, if slightly disappointed.

I have a nightmare of a landlord. He sent in some of the crappiest exterminating companies u will ever find. Afetr several moths of batlling it out with the bedbuggers, and seeing my 9 year old daughter get eaten alive I did my own research and after speaking with dozens of exterminators that just seemed like they did not have more than a 0th grade education I found Pest Away. SO knowledgable, SO nice, SO informative. Their reputation is all justified. They made me feel warm secure and guided me thur this hell. It is now 9 weeks and not a single bite on myself nor my daughter.

I had a hell of a rodent problem in my place. Between me, the super and the building exterminator we thought we had the place sealed and prtected. The problem persisted. I bit the bullet and called in Pest Away who had by far the best credentials, Best of NY, CNN and much more. these guys were really good. they found the problem they treated in the walls, sealed it up and have not had a sign since. It was a good decision.

After a really bad experience with Brdwy ext. I dound these guys alos in the area. The diff was immediately evident. They came they explained, they were thorough, and they got paid deservedly. Getting bit every night for months is not a life. Pest Away gave me back my life. That is worth alot.

i HAD THE WORST BED/BUG PROBLEM THAT WAS TAKING OVER MY LIFE. AFTER QUITE A BIT OF RESEARCH I FOUND THE SAME CO. THAT WAS HIGHLIGHTED IN NY TIMES, CNN, DATELINE, TODAY SHOW, NY MAG BEST OF" AND MUCH MORE. PEST AWAY CHARGED MORE THAN MOST BUT THEY WERE CLEARLY THE MOST COMPETENT. I had three other companies over 6 months make my bed-bug problem healthier. I spent a ton of money, had no social life and was miserable. I was reccomended to this company by NYU health PHD's. They were right on. I saw the difference in these guys right away. Smart, nice, efficient. They got rid of my problem in under a month. Thank god for these guys,

New to NY, and find the help I received from Jeff great! Found just what I needed for information and
help. I used the plastic covers over my double bed and found they work great and easy to fit. One of
the best experiences I have had in service. They were friendly and worked with my busy schedule.
No hidden cost.
I will call them again!!! No wonder rated BEST IN New York.

DO NOT BUY THE BEDCOVERS THAT JEFF SELLS. THEY DO NOT FIT AND HE WILL NOT TAKE THEM BACK OR TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR HIS PRODUCT! I spent lots of $$ on these plastic covers. They are very thin and do not fit. So they tear like Kleenex when you are trying to put them over your mattress and especially box spring.

After wasting alot of time , money and sleep. I went to the NY magazines best exterminator in NY, PEST AWAY Exterminating. They solved my problem of bed bugs after 3 well known companies charged me a fortune and could not kill anything. I highly reccomend these professionals
