I ordered a drink margarieta which previously in another boulder creek I paid 8.00 for this boulder creek was 13.00. This was college point Queens not Manhattan. The steak my son ordered for 28.00 was not worth it full of fat, the next day my dog did enjoy it and didn't complain about the fat. Service was Good !! Food was not.

Pros: good service

Cons: over priced food and drinks

Terrible Place. Went there with fiance after seeing it while shopping at Target, and regret it completely. The hostess was nice, but we couldn't believe that she would actually consider sitting us near the loud drunks sitting at the bar.

After requesting to sit away from the bar, we were taken to a dirty table, which was cleaned by what seemed to be a very busy lady. Our waitress took our drink order, and received the drinks from the busy lady that cleaned our table. My fiances soda was flat, and my pineapple juice was warm-no ice.

We ordered stuffed potato skins (terrible). She ordered ribs, the ribs came alone on the plate, no sides. I had a rib sandwich with mac & cheese. The sandwich was very dry, and the mac & cheese was weird. We believe that they ran out of cheese and poured some weird liquid on the pasta. It was terrible, and a waste of money.

We would never go back there. In fact, we agreed that for such a nice looking place, the service and food truly was more of a poorly managed, lousy cooking, soon to be out of business mom and pop shop.

If you're considering eating there, don't. You're better off just eating paper. Trust this post. And I gave 1 star in this rating only because ratings are required. I would prefer to give it 2 thumbs down.

Pros: Parking lot is close enough to get back into car

Cons: Horrible food; Terrible Waitstaff; Loud Drunks At Bar Area

I had never been to a Boulder Creek before, but when I was shopping recently at the College Point shopping center I saw it and figured I would give it a try. BAD IDEA! Things started off fine. I came in on a Thursday evening and the bar was roaring. I paid no mind to it, and since there was no wait and the place was pretty empty I asked if I could sit furthest away from the bar. I soon realized that even the furthest point was still not far enough. We were sat at a dirt table, but a gentleman was "nice enough" to clean it for us as he rolled his eyes. The waitress was friendly, but she barely did anything and was never around. Someone else brought us our food and drinks, and the waitress only came around to drop off the check. Not good service at all! The prices were crazy! I ordered crab cakes for $10+, not realizing they were going to be bite sized. Then for entrees (which took forever to come out), one of my friend's steak came out over cooked. It was a slow night, and still somehow a medium steak turned out well done. I ordered their chicken and shrimp pasta, and the pasta was grossly under cooked, and the chicken tasted like it had been sitting there for a while. We passed on dessert and was brought the check only to find out that my bottle of Heineken cost $7. I can buy a case for a couple of dollars more at the Waldbaums next door. The bill was high (an appetizer, a small steak, pasta, and a hamburger cost, two sodas and a bottle of beer = $96) , but after looking at the menu before ordering I figured it would be high. I am just not the type of person to get up and leave after being sat at a table. My overall verdict - avoid Boulder Creek. It's not worth the money, the food is bad, the service is terrible, it is too noisy, and the manager who dropped off the "re-made" steak was unapologetic and rude. I was better off at the McDonalds across the parking lot.

Pros: The fireplace

Cons: Food, atmosphere, decor, service, noise at bar

.

The food was expensive and the service was ho-hum. Also, the food quality was poor, and the steak was not good.

Like the other 2 people mentioned, the bar has a negative affect on this place.

The restaurant has recently changed and all the prices have been raised and the food is the same. Very annoying servers bother you all the time asking you if you need ketchup(which is not on the table). appetizers are 10+ and entrees are 20+. The food is not bad but 50/50 whether or not your steak is cooked right. Not the worst dinner you could have but at the price not really worth it.

Perhaps I go at off-beat times, but I have never run into problems eating here (as the other reviewer did). It is a steak house so if you really want a medium steak, order it medium-well. I LOVE the fact that they offer baked sweet potatoes as an option to go with their steak, and their creamed spinach is out of this world, simply delicious, be sure to order some. The steaks are tasty and nicely prepared for all steak lovers. Yes, don't sit right near the bar unless you want to be part of what is going on there - however the place is large enough to be quite a distance from the bar. I have a particularly helpful waitress there, Linden, who is helpful, honest and all together wonderful. Recommended!!

I usually head into a chain type steak restaurant with fairly low expectations, but this place didn't even live up to that. The best way i can describe Boulder Creek is that it makes Outback Steakhouse look like Smith and Wollensky's.

Anyway, we got there and from the get go the service was rude and unhelpful. There was no hostess to seat us for quite some time, when she decided to show up she gave us attitude. We got seated and were handed dirty food stained and greasy menus.

When we asked a few simple questions about our options for cooking the steak (i.e rare, medium, etc), and we got "uhhhh they cook it in an oven, or in a broiler" as an answer. Not very helpful.

Even though the place was 1/4 full, it took a full 30 mins to get our 2 steaks. When we got it, one of the orders was somebody else's (and not even steak), so we had to wait another 10 mins for that.

Ever go to a place and you get the feeling that everybody that works there doesn't give a s***? That's this place in a nutshell. In the end the food was OK, but pretty mediocre for the price...2 steaks and sides, plus drinks and tax, about $50.

Finally, it's important to note that the bar there is simply out of control. We were there on a Wednesday and it was like the degenerate truck broke down in front of the place and everybody congregated inside for cheap beer. The noise was unbelievably loud, with screaming, cursing and hollering, which killed any trace of atmosphere in the place. Honestly, I think personal safety could be an issue there.

Avoid this place (or at least this branch) and if you do go, be wary and avoid the bar.

Bad, bad food.
We've eaten at this restaurant a couple of times, always hoping it will get better the next time. On a whole, we've repeatedly gotten flat bear, greasy steak, and gross soup. We once ordered steak, onion soup, and beer. The beer was so flat we had to ask to have the charge taken off of our tab. The "steamed" side vegetables next to the steak were still frozen. And before we ordered, I asked the server if the onion soup had croutons, or just a big piece of bread floating in it. I was told that it has "bread pieces." I ordered the soup, complete with big floating piece of bread. Very disappointing. On top of it all, I wrote a comment on the Boulder Creek website mentioning the disappointing experience, and we never received a response. Save your money, go to Applebees or anywhere else.

Pros: fireplace at entranced

Cons: food, food, beer, beer, and food

Well, the table was so sticky when we first sat down that the skin on my arms burned after i lifted them off of the table. I asked that it be cleaned, and it was, by a very adorable 16 year old with a sponge. Other than that, our waitor looked and spoke like an ex-convict, everything was dry and overcooked, and they never gave us our salads. The waitor came by and said "more drinks?" we smiled yes, and before we could answer he flew off and ordered us another round of what we were having, when half of us at the table wanted something else. Skip it, spring for a real steakhouse...not Mcdonalds dressed up.

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Bad service, poor quality of food

Very bad steak, these people do not know how to cook a steak. Save your money and spend it elsewhere. Mcdonalds taste better.

I love this steakhouse. The prices are very reasonable, and the service is very courteous. Unfortunately the weekends it tends to get busy. But now they have a call ahead service to minimize you wait time.

The food is excellent, the prices are reasonable.

Great location - just seconds from the Cross Island Parkway, Whitestone Bridge, exit off of the Whitestone Pkwy / Van Wyck Expwy.

Cons: Busy Weekends

This steakhouse is not so shabby. The service is probably its best quality. The food is not five star but the prices reflect that. I've been to the Outback and I thought they were comparable to Boulder Creek except Outback prices were through the roof. If your looking for a high priced steak with high expectations this may not be the place for you. If you venture into Boulder Creek you will get great service and a decent meal (not the worst you can find but not the very best you can find). The place is family oriented and is crowded on weekends; weekdays it is more quiet.

The western atmosphere is great and the staff are all very friendly and courteous. But the food is a major let down. Disappointing steaks and burgers and the barbeque chicken was such a let down. This place reminded me of a very fancy diner with much higher prices. You just don't get what you pay for. Don't expect a quiet dinner neither, many families with screaming kinds frequent this place so beware.
