Do yourself a favor and AVOID Bert's Service department AT ALL COSTS!!!!!! I brought my Sram X.9 rear derailleur to set the limit screw back in place. What did they do?!! They drilled a bigger (and heavier) screw into the derailleur WITHOUT TELLING ME THEY WERE GOING TO SO. What they should have done (which I didn't know at the time) was order the Sram rear derailleur stroke limit screws online or from their supplier but no, they forced it to work and quite possibly damaging the derailleur itself. To top it off, I was charged $10 for drilling a hole and quite possibly having to throw away my derailleur. What a waste. Never will I visit them again.

I took a bike into the Niagara Falls Boulevard location this past weekend, hoping to have it tuned up for spring. The bike is a vintage Schwinn, I bought it second hand but it has a Bert's emblem on it indicating that the bike had been purchased there (back in 1985).
I thought if I could get it tuned up, some air put in the tires, and buy a helmet that I might just get into cycling again (without having to spend big bucks on a new bike to find out if it??s a hobby I'll stick with).
I wasn't in the shop for more than one minute before the associate told me the bike was too small for me, though it felt like a perfect fit. He told me to put it off to the side, and then showed me a couple of bikes that were more my size (I'm 5'5", 120lbs). None of the bikes were under $500.
He said it would be virtually impossible to do anything with the bike I brought in. Not once did he say anything like, "Well, I can certainly have one of the technicians take a look at your bike, but its going to be a challenge to find parts if it needs any replacements because the bike is outdated."
I had no intention of buying a new bike that day. I'm a college student and simply can't afford to spend a few hundred dollars on a new bike. I wanted to take advantage of their "Lifetime Adjustments Program".
I admit I don't know much about bikes, but it just seemed like the associate had no interest in helping me with the bike I already had. I left without accomplishing anything and feeling entirely discouraged.
I plan on taking the bike to another shop, probably Allentown. Maybe somebody there will be as excited to see a vintage Schwinn and hopefully offer to do whatever they can to get me riding it.

People come and try a new bike shop like Dick's Bike Shop on 781 Niagara Street Tonawanda,New York,14150 If you don't like it then go back to Bert's and when you visit Dick's Bike Shop ask to try the new Masi Bikes which are made in Italy that are $800 to $1,000

Recently had my bike tuned up here. I had to go back to have it checked out again because the gears kept slipping. They always seem to be trying to sell you something you don't need. I only go to this place when I have to. Also, when I had my bike tuned up, they talked to my husband instead of me even though I was asking the questions and my bike was clearly a woman's bike! I miss Niagara Cycle Works which moved from Payne Ave to Lewiston.

If you are a serious cyclist, either mountain or road, then you already know the shops around that will be the best for you. Bert??s is a good place for beginners or folks who don??t want to spend money on high-end stuff. There??s nothing wrong with that, but that only caters to a segment of the population and I would be upset if I was a visitor from out of town and someone pointed me in Bert??s direction.

Every time I have been in to Bert??s to pick up some small accessory, customer service has been nil. This goes for both locations; there seemed to be a preponderance of young people who are not into dealing with customers.

The only bike I ever purchased from Bert??s was a Giant a few years back. I had a lifetime service guarantee on it that I had to keep using because, I later found out, the bike was assembled improperly and the left crank arm kept unscrewing itself from the BB. I ended up fixing it myself no thanks to the knobs who call themselves wrenches.

An ok store for clothing and accessories, not somewhere I??d buy a bike or get service.

This great bike shop in Tonawanada is my favorite biking store in Western New York. If you are a professional or a novice this is the best place because of the amazing selection and knowledge of their employees. This store doesn?t only sell bikes, if you are need any accessories they are fully loaded.

If you want a $50 bike they'll have it, if you want a $500 bike they'll have it. They have every kind of bike you can think of and all the supplies you would ever need. You can also rent bicycles.

We have been buying our bikes here for years. They have such a wonderful staff. They are always eagar to help you find what you are looking for. They take the time to fit the bike to you. They have a large selection of bikes and equipment. They also do bike repairs and the prices are fair. You might spend alittle more but it is worth every penny. They stand behind there bikes and work!
