Message from Ko Sushi

Excellent Rated Sushi Spot
  • Fresh As Can Be
  • Affordably Priced
  • Special Lunch Menu

Ko Sushi features blonde wood and welcoming service, this "little bit upscale" place serves a crowd ranging from teens to seniors -- most of them sophisticated Upper East Siders who won't compromise on quality but still appreciate a good deal. Ko Sushi has been compared to Nobu, but without the high prices. The menu, which includes such temptations as Sex on the Beach (shrimp tempura, white tuna, avocado and caviar) and the Lovers Roll (lobster, mango, avocado and mayo). The chef favors a French-cum-New American approach to the food, carefully arranging each dish and drizzling it with sauce. Sensitive souls may not want to meet the beady eyes of live lobster in a nearby aquarium awaiting their inevitable fate-on-a-plate; others will just dig in with gratitude for the sumptuous privilege.

Great sushi! Fast and good service 4 Star Rating - Very good

I lived in Tokyo for 8 months so I'm a self-confessed sushi-snob. I like my sushi traditional and very fresh and Ko sushi meets my expectations. I'm glad this restaurant is in my neighborhood so I won't have to go far for good everyday sushi. Try the salmon tartare!

Pros: good suhi and friendly service
Cons: need wider selection of sake

Great Place 5 Star Rating - World class

Being a well travelled and an avid food fan, especially Japanese food, I am so glad to find a place in my homecity of New York that offers good Japanese food and a wonderful dining experience. One can be expected to be greeted by gracious hostess upon setting foot into the establishment. Whisked promptly to your seat, which could either be a window seat with a perfect street view of the 2nd Avenue, or a more secluded area inside, woven with traditional japanese bamboo that exudes a calm and serene dining ambience. The food is competitvely priced, but never disappoints. The staff are ever pleasant and attentive, besides having a good knowledge of its food served, which i find many recomendations a good choice made. Either having a drink after a long day or a visit to satify my cravings for japanese food, this place is the first that comes to my mind. I would recomend Ko Sushi to anyone, who truly enjoy his/her food and a wonderful dining experience.

Pros: Good Food, Great Service
Cons: Food is not free

loved it! 4 Star Rating - Very good

went to ko sushi recently with a small group, were seated fast. They had an original/creative sushi menu. Enjoyed the hot sake and delicious sushi. Helpings are generous and reasonably priced. This is my new 'go to' sushi spot- friendly service, good food at decent prices. Must mention the black cod- beautifully cooked and delicious with the miso sauce.

Pros: sushi, price, service, speed
Cons: enh decor

The prices on their website need to be updated 3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

The sushi was just okay. There was nothing special about the quality of the sushi. The tuna wasn't even the freshest cut. Also, don't go to the web site because the prices on there are inaccurate. I would just go here if you are in the neighborhood. i have had better.
