My visit to T Carlton exceeded my expectations. I found the salon itself to be a somewhat fast paced, crowded and noisy - a little overwhelming. But the staff was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and attentive to my specific needs.
My initial visit was for services at the day spa (pure bliss!), as I had received a spa package gift certificate. My second visit was for a color and cut. Monica, the stylist who cut my hair, was friendly and enthusiastic. I have to admit, I was a bit anxious, because she'sveryr young. But in the end, I had nothing to worry about. She gave me one of the best cuts I've ever gotten.
Lisa, my colorist, was also friendly andd seemed experienced and capable. However, as is typical with my auburn colored hair, the roots (gray) came up brighter and somewhat orange compared to the rest of my hair.
But overall, I enjoyed my visit to T Carlton. I felt pampered and cared for and am looking forward to returning for a touchup, cut and occasional spa service.

Christian fixed my hair and I can't thank him enough!
I had tried to dye my roots with a store bought box. BIG mistake- Christian was able to take me in short notice, right before the Holidays- he did a fantastic job fixing my botched job and I will never go anywhere else again!

Richard was one of the best stylists I have had the pleasure of meeting. He took his time, didn't rush, and gave me a precision haircut. He gave me some great suggestions for my hair style and agreed that a "bob" was the perfect cut for me. He seemed to make my fine hair thicker and fuller. Looking forward to my next visit.

It's hard to find a stylist who knows how to cut curly hair the right way. I have been going to Heidi for over a year now for color and hair cuts and she is the BEST! I like that my hair comes out the same each time. She always steers me in the right direction with both my color and cut choices.

I went there the first time in June for coloring and haircut. Lauren was great. She did a great job with the haircut and styling. The staff was friendly and helpful. My daughter also got her haircut. Her hair looked great. We will definitely return for to more services. We can't wait to try the spa services.

I have been coming to T. Carltons for a few years now and will never go anywhere else! The professionalism of the staff, minimal waiting if any at all and both the salon/spa are kept very clean and sanitary. I see Maria for color and she is fabulous!!

I just moved to the area and was happy to find T. Carlton's Spalon. I had a great hair cut, blow dry and facial. The staff was friendly and fun. I will be back for highlights soon!

I came here last minute for my hair to get done for my wedding bc Cactus Salon is horrible! They booked my appt 1 week before my wedding, I didn't even have to bring a picture, I just told Christine D what i wanted and she made it look beautiful! Went there about 3 weeks ago for color and cut and had my hair done perfect. Best hair salon in Suffolk County

They now have Spray Tans !!! I tried it for the first time last Tuesday, I look like i was in the Carribean for a week ! So much better than a Tanning bed, Thanks so much Veronica !! You made the coming fall and cold weather that much easier to deal with, I will be seeing you often !!!

I have been a customer for almost four years now & I have NEVER had a bad experience. The staff is always polite & well knowledged. I have had facials, massages & nail treatments, all with polite, energetic, and respectful staff members. I have been seeing the same girl for all of my facials & recommend her to friends & family. I could not be happier with T. Carlton's staff, knowledge of the business, appearance inside & outside of the salon, their services, prices, and the list goes on!!! Keep up the good work!

I am going to comment on this post:
I have to apologize for your disheartened reaction to T. Carlton's, but I must say that it was not me that had viewed your hair. You may have spoken to me when you originally called but it was not me that you saw when you came in. I would never had said that "I know nothing about haircolor" as I am a National Trainer and Platform Artist for an International Haircolor Company, as well as the Education Director for T. Carlton's. So, it is possible that you spoke to another manager whom does not practice in the field of Cosmetology. I will apologize for any misunderstanding, as you thought that you were speaking with me. Secondly, I will follow-up with my co-managers and see if quite possibly there was a message for me to follow-up on your situation as I was out of town for 9 days on business. I assure you that all of the managers are highly capable of assessing a problem and appropriately bringing into the conversation the appropriate person for that particular situation when necessary (as you stated in your post, a colorist was called over).

I had a partial highlight done at T. Carlton's. I did not have a blow-out done at the salon, so I didn't see how sloppy of a job it was until I got home and dried it myself. Wow... roots galore! My colorist colored my hair strands, but did not bother getting ANY of my roots. AND MY HAIR HAS ORANGE STRANDS!!! Ladies, I had over 3/4 inch of roots showing! So I called the next morning and spoke with Lynette. She said I could come in within the next 2 weeks to have it fixed. Unfortunately my schedule did not allow me to come back within that time frame, so I asked if I could come in the third week with a discount--not a free service, just a discount. A highlight should last 4-6 weeks. I think a discount on my next service is MORE THAN FAIR. (I'd have roots and orange stands for 3 weeks!!!) So, Lynette asked me to stop by so she could see the color, and I was in the area so I did the same day. She brought one of the colorist's co-workers out to look at my hair because she stated "I don't know anything about color" which concerns me that she is a manager at a salon...??? So I don't expect the other colorist to speak badly about her co-worker's job, but by the look she could tell. Who couldn't??? So Lynette said she would call me.... It's been 2 weeks and I have not received a call. I should have demanded a refund instead of a discount on my next service. I paid a lot money and tipped more than expected. How can a business be run like that?

In June I moved to this area from Great Neck and I needed to establish myself and become acquainted with my new neighborhood. I made an appointment to have my hair colored and styled at T. Carlton's. I was immediately greeted by the receptionists as if I had always been their client. The ambience was uplifting and the energy was positive. My colorist, Maria, was excellent and made my concerns hers. Through time she even moved me forward adding Hilights and adjusting my base color accordingly. I have never received as many compliments on my hair color as I do now. My stylist was Tom. He is compassionate and gives 100% to styling my hair. He talks to me and offers his opinions based on my vision. I always feel and look beautiful. In time, I have also become a client of their spa. In November I had a costume party to attend. Henry did my makeup, capturing the period of my costume (1920's). Henry devoted himself to making sure everything was perfect. I always look forward to my time at T. Carlton's Spalon. Everyone their is gracious, and at the top of their chosen profession. I could not be happier...

If you are looking for a world-class service; color, cut, massage, facial - T. Carlton is where you need to go.

I had cut and color done approx 12 yrs ago but (due to financial situation) could not continue to go there. I have since realized that if I want a color and cut DONE RIGHT, I need to spend the money. I returned to T. Carlton at their new location and I am thrilled as ever. The new facility is beautifully decorated the staff is friendly and helpful and Henry, Mia and Marie are all specialists in their area.

If you are going to be cheap, then be happy with a crummy cut and color at the small chain haircutters or tiny salons. If you want to look like a million bucks **without** spending it or travelling to NYC, then you must go to T. Carlton.

I highly recommend arriving at the appointment early so you can speak to your specialist before the service. This way both you and the specialist are not going at it blind. No communication = disappointment.

I booked my wedding services with TCarlton Spalon and there is an exceptional employee, Gina, the wedding coordinator.

Her calm, patient manner was a great help to me when my frustration was at an all-time high. Her knowledge of the business and her remarkable problem-solving abilities are rare indeed.

I had my hair colored for the first time ever as I was starting to see a few greys. Linette has cut my hair for the last year and has always done a phenomenal job, so, together we had decided "it was time" to color. I cannot believe the difference that just covering these gray hairs has made. It looks natural and a lot better. My husband has used Jade for facials as well and loves her!!! Definitely will continue using the salon and spa....

Worst haircut in my life. Stylist did not do a thing that I asked. All I asked was to keep the length the same, do not cut mt bangs and cut the top short. Hair was cut to my neck, bangs too short and i could have gotten this haircut anywhere on Long Island. Will not go back.

I use Lauren at T.Carlton and she is the best! She does my color and my cut which is great, alot of places you have to see 2 different stylists but she does both and they compliment each other perfectly. I literally get stopped on the streets! I pay $65 for cuts.... You get what you pay for ladies!

I just moved to the area and was looking for a hair salon...
I decided to try T. Carlton's in Smithtown based on some decent online reviews.
I made an appointment with a stylist (I believe level 2...the haircut was $33) and was looking for a overall trim including my bangs.
The stylist was nice but she did an awful job on my bangs. She noticed that I was upset and offered to "Fix" them but I didn't want her to continue cutting my hair.
Be cautious when making an appointment there- the place is huge (almost factory-like)...so request a particular stylist and don't just leave it up to the receptionist like I did.

I have been going to both the salon and spa at T. Carltons for over six years. The spa is my absolute favorite. The atmosphere is so serene you can help but relax when you are there. They have a great menu of services, and their prices are competitive with other spas in the area.
