In general, I have nothing but admiration and appreciation for Planned Parenthood, and am eternally grateful to them for providing me with free birth control pills for the past 5 years. However, upon visiting the Brooklyn Planned Parenthood clinic yesterday, I learned that they no longer provide anything for free, even if you are unemployed and have no income (there is a sliding fee, based on your income). Furthermore, nearly everyone I had to deal with before I got into the examining room was rude and unfriendly (the examiner herself, on the other hand, was great). I also had to wait for nearly three hours. Of course, Planned Parenthood is understandablyvery busy, and I guess it's still worth going there if you want to pay $15 per pack of pills rather than $44.
