I always enjoy coming to Community Book Store of Park Slope, because I love that it is never crowded and that the staff is always accommodating and helpful. The staff always has great suggestions and recommendations and really know their stuff. I prefer coming to this book store then any other, but I'm not always in the area so its hard for me to do so. I highly recommend checking this place out at least once.

This store has been in the neighborhood for quite a while, and luckily, it has stuck around despite the arrival of Barnes and Noble. It may be a fraction of the size of the chain store giant, but it manages to pack in a decent selection of a variety of genres, and the best thing is that if you can wait a couple of days for a book, you can have them order it for you. B+N acts like they are a discount bookseller, but for the most part, they are not at all. If you're going to pay the cover price for a book, you might as well pay it to a friendly local store committed to serving the neighborhood. It's also much more fun shopping at a friendly little place like this than at a huge, sterile, crowded chain store.

Every neighborhood needs a good bookstore, and this is Park Slope's jewel. Though small, the Community Bookstore offers every genre for your reading pleasure and a helpful staff of knowledgable well-read employees. The stacks are narrow and tall so passing can be difficult, though shoppers are courtious. The best part of the Community bookstore, asside from the selection, is the price of their books. Selling used and new books, one can pick up a long russian classic for under $5 or a brand new hardcover for around $15. This is a must go for all readers!

PROS: Price and Selection
CONS:
