I've visited Guitar Center a few times and have always been impressed with the large selection of guitars, keyboards and equipment. I purchased the M-Audio for recording and so far have been very happy with it. If you can get past the pushy sales people it is a nice place to shop.

I have been forced to go to Guitar Center many times to get things. That is the good thing about them, they usually have some form of what you need. The bad thing is, it is a generic megastore with an incompetent and uninterested staff. They have boring instruments from mainly big name manufacturers whose standards have started slipping severely. Another problem with them is that they love price gouging, and the prices listed on their instruments reflect that. If you ever go in there, remember that in order to get your money's worth out of an instrument you buy there you have to barter. They mark the prices up so they can pretend to be your friend when they let you talk them down.

PROS: Large selection
CONS: Generally incompetent sales staff, high prices

The location of the store is ideal, as there is plenty of parking and it's location in a large shopping plaza sets it near several other stores like tops, office depot, and big lots. They have a large selection of guitars and other musical equipment. The only qualm I had with the store is that sometimes the staff seems more interested in hanging out with friends or return customers than helping out new customers. They are very knowledgable though. They can help you to find exactly what you are looking for and are good at it.

PROS: Good selection and location
CONS: Apathetic staff at times
