Loved Baked clams and free Mussel Bar. I have been there several times and always welcomed and they treat me like a family. Great Service and Food. I had Veal Parmigiana and was delicious. And Fried Calamari is a MUST. You can not get better Fried Calamari at any other place!

I've been here a number of times because I've been in the neighborhood and now I'm inspired to write a review after sampling numerous items and being disappointed time and time again. The cold seafood antipasto and grilled calamari were both lacking flavor and desperately needed something else in order to taste good, same goes for their salads. The seafood skewers were alright, but the pasta that comes with certain dishes is just plain and not very tasty.
I also don't like how they only take cash or American Express, yet when my friend tried to pay with her AmEx card the waiter said we had not ordered enough and still had to pay cash.

Came into the restaurant roughly around 4PM on a Thursday and the place was COMPLETELY empty. Strangely enough the waiter just happen to seat us RIGHT next to the bathroom (maybe because we had a groupon?) which is so tiny that I was barely able to maneuver and REEKED of urine. I ordered the seafood fettuccine and it was meh ok, I've had better at 7A, some of the pasta was hard. My boyfriend got the chicken parm and it was lukewarm. The place had flies everywhere and most of our time was spent fending them off of our food.

Bottom line: The service was bad, took 15 minutes to get my check. The food was way too mediocre for the price. The seafood wasn't as fresh as they say. The bathroom and restaurant were not very hygienic, my chair had crumbs all over it. The many flies. The cups weren't very clean, when i pointed out to the waiter that there were white floating particles in my water he didn't believe me so I had to take a knife and stir the water until all of it floated up, the pieces we actually VERY visible to the naked eye. I would never come here again coupon or no.

I had a birthday gathering last Sunday and made a reservation online.

When I got to the restaurant, Nick, the manager with whom I had been corresponding, greeted me personally almost immediately and let me knew that once my party assembled my table was waiting.

Even as my party size grew and grew (who knew I had so many hungry friends?!) the restaurant was graciously accomodating. Our server Jay, never missed a beat the entire evening and a good time was had by all.

Oh, I had the seafood lasagna (Jay's recommendation) and it was filling and delicious.

The price is more than affordable. The restaurant is lovely and the staff even more so.

I have no complaints at my time spent here, tell all my friends about it and I will definitely be back.

Pros: Service, Food, Hospitality

Cons: None come to mind

I'm sorry but I am keeping this one short. The food is cheap for a reason because it's just not that good. For a couple of extra dollars an entree, I can imagine it being much better, but the food is priced so cheap for a reason. The pasta here tastes like cheap Chinese take-out lo mein. People are into this place because it is basically a crowded bar first and an Italian restaurant second.

I came to know this restaurant on timeout new york, visited their website...wow it's wonderful website, in addition, it attracted me to have had a dinner there.
I made reservation first because they suggest 10% discout through reservation. I commented I'd like to get a tabel at Garden...
Last saturday, I and my friends came in without any waiting, went though the way to garden. It's so beautiful..
We ordered summer salad, stuffed mushrooms, spinach salad as appetizer. They were all excellent. especialy stuffed mushroom was so fantastic.
And I had Seafood Lasagna as main...It was top homeade pasta. Wine and beer list were enough to enjoy them. In addition, service was so friendly, I never missed my smile during dinner time there.
I appreciate all of thme to Cucina and I'd be back!!

Yesterday, we had dinner to celebrate friend's birthday. I'd made reservation for 9 and then we didn't waste time to get seats. Their generous service was very impressive and even more sang a song to celebrate...it's really appreciated. Food was very yummy and winelist was very notable too. Atmosphere was very romantic due to lots of candle lits. We were very satisfied with all of their service. I will be back to Cucina.

Great surprise here! I never knew this place existed before even thogh I'd walked by hundreds of time. How did I miss it I will never know!? Great food, lots of options but not too many, completely tasty appetizers and main courses, romantic atmosphere with friendly wonderful service that I haven't experienced. This is just as wonderful and special place! I simply loved my meal here and the entire experience - and will be back very very soon. Thanks Cucina - you're one of the best surprises I've had in NYC in a long, long time! Bravo!

Reminds me of being in Italy and having a fabulous dinner. I love their pasta. In fact, I am eating here the night last Sunday.

The flavors are great, service is great. What I really like about this place is that I never feel rushed. I can sit and relax and really enjoy my meal. The manager is always there and stops by the table and says hello. He is very friendly and attentive.

I love this neighborhood resultant and I am so glad that it isn't in NYC flooded with tourist.

I came here with my bf to celebrate his birth.
Inside of cucina, atmosphere is very great. Candle lits is really sexy and romantic. Outside of cucina, probably 5 groups are waiting..I agree that it is worth.
We had many dishes and one of them, I highly recommend "spinach penne". It is really really delicious..when we got order, my frined mentioned code "cucina since 1986" to get discount...
I am sure that cucina will be great dinner table for you.

Absolutely love this place. Very romantic, non-pretentious, great service. Food was spectacular. I went there a few months ago but I haven't had a chance to do the review. All I remember was everything was great. You have to order the Rigatoni Melanzane pasta with Ricotta cheese. I still think about it until today. I will definitely go back~

My experience :

Wine : A+
Dishes : Seafood Skewers A+ / Monk Fish with creamy lobster sauce A+

Service : A+++

This quaint restaurant oozes romance and serves up some delicious fare to boot. We had cold seafood antipasto in a complex tomato sauce, and the monk fishes to start. Second dish was the fresh spaghetti. We finished off with the sea bass. Everything was tasty and nicely cooked and the recommended wine from their extensive list paired well with our choices.

My friend really enjoyed it when he visited Cucina.

Service and pacing was excellent.

What more can you ask of seafood than for it to be FRESH?
Definitely the freshest shellfish I've ever had in my life.
So good. Not a fancy place decorations-wise but it's fun, friendly, and very very very delicious. I went there last night and had the seafood skewers and the cioppino and am veal marsha. They never disappoint. Everywhere I go now I order shellfish in hopes that it will stack up to Cucina.

I came here with my boyfriend and sat at the bar. We really enjoyed our night chatting with the couple next to us who were probably the most friendly people we've ever met. Big thanks to them! and Big thanks to Cucina Di Pesce for a dinner and a lovely night in Little Italy, NYC.

Read the dessert menu! and take his advice.

I and my friend came here last Saturday and were pleased on vestibule because the staff here were all friendly. They led us to great place around the window. Fortunately, we saved the much time to wait.

We had seafood Skewers & Monk fish with wine. The foods are sooo good and nice price for us.

I think this place is good for a date.

I've been to Cucina many times for many years and because I had already thrown one dinner party here. Cucina accepted our party plan and has a lot going for it! In addition to the big portions, affordable prices, and casual but cozy atmosphere.

The pasta is cheap from $10 to $13 and homemade. Portions aren't huge. This isn't the Olive Garden after all. But there is always a nice complimentary veggie antipasti and bread. I had the pumpkin ravioli and the sweetness of it was sooo great. It's also a plus that my vegetarian friend can happily find something to eat here.

FYI :They offer special price on next month to celebrate cucina's 30 years history in East Village.
It will be probably 30% off for next month.

If you find Italian restaurant with affordable price, I recommend Cucina here.

I've been to Cucina many times over the years (after a friend introduced me to their awesome Early Bird Special!) and because I had already thrown one dinner party here earlier this year, I was doing everything in my power to try someplace new for my birthday! Alas, it was not to be. But not to fear - Cucina has a lot going for it! In addition to the big portions, affordable prices, killer Early Bird, and casual but cozy atmosphere, it also has a beautiful back room that's perfect for groups. I really wanted the back room again for my birthday fete -- glass dome-like ceiling, romantic vibe, fits 50. Long story, but I was very happy when Rizzo, who oversaw my party, stretched his limits to accommodate my 30ish guests in the back room. At the dinner, our waiters def earned their tips. I especially appreciated when one of them brought me (w/o prompting) extra forks so that I could share my birthday slice (which appropriately came w/ one fork) when he saw that I was offering bites to my friends.

I don't think the food here is amazing Italian, but there are some standouts. The complimentary veggie salad / antipasto is good - veggies are more al dente than squishy and if you like vinegary foods you'll love this (it's a large portion too!). I also really like the pumpkin ravioli - creamy, filling, and a good vegetarian option. The chicken marsala and veal marsala are decent and tasty (albeit not the best I've had), tender cuts. They also come with sides of pasta (marinara or aioli), and it's a lot of food for a mere $11-12! I also took a bite of a friend's dish (off the specials menu) - don't recall its name, but they're "bags of pasta" filled with shrimp w/ marinara - YUM! My guests were also happy that the meal didn't break the bank.

I might otherwise give Cucina 3.5, but I'll throw in an extra half star (total 4.0) because of their willingness to work with my demanding seating preferences (trust me, I was verrry picky) and attentive service during both dinner parties I hosted here this year. Bravo! :)

Italian cuisine. Ordered calamari, stuffed mushrooms, and stuffed brook trout (shrimp, calamari and crabmeat).

I thought the food was good and at a very good price. The appetizers were cooked well and I enjoyed the stuffed mushrooms. They had this veggie type appetizer with the bread and that was good tasting too. The fish was very well deboned and the stuffing tasted good. I tasted some of the chicken marsala also, and it was done right. All of the entrees that are not pasta dishes come with a side of linguine in your choice of marinara or garlic and olive oil sauce. The pasta was cooked well, and the sauce was perfect, not too strong.

As you can see from this review, the food is good here! I would come here again. Only problem I personally had was that the meat menu was a bit limited. But since this place is called 'pesce' you figured most of their dishes contained alot of seafood.

Yesterday, I've heard it from manager they prepares special offer on next month to celebrate history of 30 years in East Village..

The foods are excellent...Service is very attentive and friendly, price is reasonable...

Pros: dimly candle light

.

special place~!!

Cucina di Pesce has enough wine lists which we can enjoy..
Absolutely candle lit sweetened up the vibe with us...
In addition, the service with all staff was excellent...
As if they are real family, we felt full convenient in the restaurant..
Although I am not fan of Italian food, I absorbed into the mood around me. I was happy there.

If you are looking for great restaurant in East Village, I recommend this place sincerely...

The wine list is very enough to choose and enjoy...
Foods were great with resonable price.

In addition, the vibe is dimly lit...it made us enjoy enough romantic time there.

A pretty cheap Italian restaurant dressed up as a fancy Italian restaurant. The vibe is very romantic with candle lit nice, and the service is very friendly and attentive. Entrees are under $15, which is remarkable.

The foods are good , too. We were not disappointed with them.

This is a good place to go if you're looking for an inexpensive dinner with nice ambience in east village.

Its very sad. My bestfriend and I found Cucina di Pesce over a decade ago. Since then we have had numerous dates there (blind ones, first ones, second ones, ones that we wished would end soon!)... We have had numerous girls night out...Suprize Parties... Birthdays... Even my rehursal dinner (yeah! One of the dates really worked out!)

And we got to know the General Manager Rizzo...

My now husbnad and I just went back after almost a year of not being there and Rizzo has left to start another restaurant. Though we liked getting the special treatment, his departure did not stop us from sitting down... But everyting has changed.

The prices went up (to be expected) but the portions went down! The drinks were weak and the new GM could have cared less when I told him about my history with the restaurant.

Disapointing. E. 4th streets gem is a little tarnished!

WOW - this place is awesome to have a dinner party! I planned my friend's bachelorette party dinner here for 14 girl and we loved it. We had a large table set us in the back and the waitstaff and management were attentive and provided great service for the whole night. The pre-fixe menu we decided beforehand along with the 2 hours unlimited wine/beer price made it a no-frills and easy night for all. The food was delicious, a great value and awesome portions. I couldn't have asked for anything more! THANK YOU.

This place is an absolute favorite. What a find! Their food is delicious, atmosphere is warm and romantic, and they're a calm and relaxing restaurant! I agree w. the previous reviewer about the pumpkin ravioli! The BEST you'll ever find!!! We've gone there many times to celebrate special events and I can't wait to get back there again sometime soon. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! FIVE STARS!

Over the past 2 years, I've eaten here maybe a dozen times. Each time a good experience. There hasn't been a recent review of this place in over a year, so I wanted share my opinion.

Whether sitting outside, or in the cozy, albeit dark interior, the restaurants offers diners a good meal in terms of menu, service and atmosphere. I've tried about 5 different appetizers and dishes, and every one has managed not to disappoint. Prices are fair for the neighborhood, and service always good. I think they're probably good with larger groups but I've only been with 2-3 other people. Give it a try!

In a word, TERRIBLE!!!

My first impression was developed by a bar maid who seemed to be there to socialize rather than serve. With a rather empty bar to serve drinks to she found it was more important to talk to friends/fellow staff than take care of business and do what she was being paid to do.

It got worse. We ordered pasta and to my astonishment this so called ?Italian eatery? serves it patrons PACKET PASTA!!! I had one taste and asked the manager to confirm this, he said no. I called him out and he then admitted that it was?WHAT A DISGRACE!!!

My pasta dish was being served as an authentic, home made Italian dish but it turned out it was Packet Pasta?they should be ashamed of themselves?disappointment and highly recommend avoiding this place.

I'd eaten here a dozen times for new year's, romantic dinners, casual dinners, and so forth before getting engaged. for some reason, we didn't think about it as a place to hold our engagement party and then one day it all came together and we felt like idiots for not thinking of it.

wonderful place, wonderful food, great staff, and affordable for both dinner and large group. the back room is private and lovely, with access to back patio for smokers in your group. staff were so accommodating to our needs and everything was handled with patience and professionalism. they were instrumental in our last-minute planning and took care of our on-the-spot needs.

I'm sorry to those who wrote good reviews, but this is no where near acceptable italian, especially for manhattan. From beginning to end, this place was horrendous. The fried calamari looked like fast food onion rings and tasted even worse, it was so heavily breaded and so over cooked, it was like trying to chew through the rubber bands they put on lobster claws. Then came the entrees. I had the scallops, 4 of them, and they were slimy, and the side of pasta came with a teaspoon of 'marinara sauce', so they call it. My girlfriend ordered the stuffed trout which was supposed to be with a crabmeat stuffing, meanwhile it was more bones than meat and had a creamy broccoli stuffing, with no sign of a crab even swimming in the water near where this fish was caught. To top off the evening, I get the check and the waiter literally stood 5 feet from me, and was staring at me just waiting for me to pay. I agree that the place is very inexpensive, which scared me to start, but it's not worth paying anything for. No entrees were greater than $14, but i would recommend spending the extra few dollars and going to some place decent.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! The food is DISGUSTING here. Everything is drenched in oil, sauce, bland, ugly just gross gross gross. I don't care that it's cheap and that you get generous portions. What do you need big portions of horrible food for???!!! They really need to invest in a decent chef who actually knows something about cooking. The only redeeming quality is the stellar staff. Hardworking and friendly, no matter how busy it gets. I'd come here for a drink at the bar maybe but steer clear of the food.

This is a cozy & romantic place. The food is delicious - specials and daily menu selection are both recommended. The staff is friendly. The prices are amazing for NYC. One of my favorite affordable places to go to the city where I can feel romantic without needing a date.
