This is a fun shop to get ideas and you will definitely find something you REALLY want. They are a bit pricey, but what do you expect for being on Broadway in the Village?
4You know, there's something called depreciation. You buy something today and years from now, the value of it has gone way down because of use and time you've owned it. Used clothing is the same thing. Everything eventually comes back into fashion, so the best way to look fashionable wearing "new" vintage is to go the source, a good vintage store.
Years ago, the Antique Boutique used to stock decent quality used clothing at reasonable thrift store prices.
I don't know whether they've become intoxicated by their Village store address or inundated with high bills for rent (I'm guessing it's a combination of both) but they are SERIOUSLY FULL OF you know what...Yes, I REALLY want to pay $60+ dollars for a NON-DESIGNER POLYESTER Shirt from the 60's or 70's that I can get for $3-$5 from the Salvation Army or Goodwill Thrift Stores?!? Crazy. The staff is completely oblivious and (laugh) like to sneer when you ask them if the price is a typo. Chi-Chi ways & posturing are a given when you go into some of these boutiques and stores in the Village, but NOT for old used, overpriced clothes.
PROS: Located in NY's East Village
CONS: Extremely Overpriced Marked Up Used Clothing

The window displays here are always so neat. They just draw you in and you just walk through their doors. They have such an eclectic mix of clothes. Lots of club wear, alternative and just plain funky. Occasionally you can find some great buys in the bargain or clearance sections. Prices seem to run a bit high for what you get. Just depends on how you perceive clothing, fashion statement or personal statement.

Antique Boutique is one of those weird stores that probably exist only in New York: a second-hand store where used clothing sometimes costs more than brand new clothes cost anywhere else!
I guess the prices are somewhat justified, since some of the selections are amazing and unique. You never know what you'll find here, so if you have something specific in mind this is not the best place to go - but if you're up for a shopping adventure, you can come away with some amazing stuff. But you have to be prepared to spend a lot more than you'd expect to spend on second-hand clothing: I guess that's the difference between used and vintage...
PROS: Great selection, unique items, great atmosphere
CONS: Some of the items are quite expensive
