I will give all of you parents a unique view on this HORRIBLE school. I was once a STUDENT at Excel, so I'm sure you have not heard of experiences from actual children who went here. I am now 17, and I attended this school when I was 4 years old. This was when an Asian lady named Eunice was the owner of the place (I don't know if she still is?) I can vouch for Hillary C. below me who said that the staff leaves children unattended, because they do. I remember once they left me and 3 other kids alone in a dark classroom while the rest were outside playing.
However, the single experience that I ENCOURAGE ALL OF YOU PARENTS TO READ is this one. I don't know if a teacher with blonde hair and glasses is still there and I don't remember her name. But, us children were sitting around a table doing some type of crafts. I got up to get something and was about to sit down when a big, fat kid pulled the chair from under me! I fell flat on the ground and bumped my head really hard on the seat of my chair! This teacher looked DIRECTLY at me with wide eyes. Later, my parents came to pick me up, and I told my mother what had happened. My mom talked to both the owner and the teacher, who LOOKED MY MOM DIRECTLY IN THE EYES AND SAID THAT NOTHING WHATSOEVER HAD HAPPENED AND THAT I WAS LYING! Well, my mom took me to the doctor who confirmed that I indeed had a huge welting, RED BUMP on my head and that I was obviously telling the truth!
So, moral of the story: The staff at this disgusting place will lie in order to protect themselves, and will do anything to cover their asses. My mom did not think twice before pulling me out of this school and sending me to a PROPER PRESCHOOL: St. Rita's School.

My child currently attends Excel Preschool and the school staff goes overboard to make sure each child receive proper care and attends to all their needs Educational and developmentally. By which I mean academic progress

I do not know where to begin. The TEACHING staff is out of this world, every single teacher in this school is absoloutley involved with every single student. I have been sending my child to this school since he was a toddler, didnt like it very much at first, but over the years changed due to better teachers. The director is outstanding , they finally made up there mind and chose a wonderful director who loves the children and is not only there for her pay check. My son is in UPK, the teachers are so sweet and understanding. There are no words to explain what a joy it is to see my child ready and set to go to school. Any problems I confront the teachers and or director and my problems get helped ASAP.

I adore the TEACHING staff but as I do not recommend this school NOW because once again it is changing ! It only lasted One Year of GREATNESS !

The school is great, teachers are great, and the students are always smiling! I never had any bad experinces or issues with any staff members and all of my children learned, played, and had fun each and everyday spent there. Yes the PREVIOUS director was not the nicest person but that is why she is the PREVIOUS director. She was not there for long and the director that took her place is not only good at her job but she is a GREAT person and every child in the school loves her. The teachers work great together and each teacher knows every child in the school whether they have that child in their class or not. I do and have recommended this school to others who enrolled their children and they had just as great of feelings of the school and staff as I did. GREAT SCHOOL!!!!!!

Excel Preschool is an amazing school. My daughter was there for two years and for Pre-K, rather than enrolling my daughter in a school that is 2 blocks away from my home, I took a 20 minute drive everyday to bring her to Excel. I have had a large amount of experience within schools, both public and private, due to the fact that I have a degree in education, and Excel Preschool is by far one of the best. The teachers are great, loving, and caring. They are the definition of what ALL teachers should be. After my daughter's 2 1/2 hour Pre-K class was over she would cry to stay longer, as would other kids in her class. She is in Kindergarten now and still tells me she wants to go back there for school. To address the comments about there being too many teacher changes...being in care of children everyday is not for everyone, wonderful, bright, fun, and intelligent people come into the job assuming that it is easy and as every parent could probably agree with me, it is not always easy. And so when a new teacher comes in (mostly infant/toddler teachers) and the staff sees this person is not right for the job or it is too much for them, yes they have to let them go, it would be wrong for the school to keep a person that comes in and it turns out to be too much for them..that is why sometimes the staff has to be changed and it is only for the best interest of the children. I have been on the inside of other schools and have seen the children neglected and teachers that were there only for a pay check, I have never seen or heard of anything like that at Excel. Do not believe everything you read or hear, go walk in and take a look for yourself, they do have open walk-ins without an appointment necessary, and that is because they have nothing to hide and everything is always great.

My daughter attended Excel for 2 years. I thought the classrooms in the basement were gloomy. (I didnt see it but another parent recently told me she saw mold on the ceilings.) I did witness a teacher changing a baby while her whole class was sitting on the bathroom floor!..and the whole school frquently smelled like dirty diapers.I enrolled her again because I figured the UPK class would be better and it was.The class was bright and cheery, the teachers were nice. However, she obviously did not learn enough. Her Kindergarten teacher assumed she didn't attend pre-school! She couldn't believe that she did and when I told her it was Excel...she shook her head like she understood.

Are we ALL talking about the same Excel Preschool? I find Excel Preschool to be an outstanding school. I enrolled my son almost a year and a half ago, and I extremely satisfied and happy about my decision. I had previously had my son as a student in another preschool. After a bad experience there, I made sure I picked a new school that was right for my son. I looked around many schools before finally choosing Excel. What set Excel apart from the rest were its staff and its safe environment. You can tell that each teacher is there because they genuinely love to teach and care for children. Every member of the staff knows my son by name and always treats him with warmth, care, and respect. Not only is the staff knowledgeable and friendly, they are extremely accommodating and definitely have the students?? best interest at hand. They will stop at no length the make sure the students enjoy their day. Also, unlike many schools, my son actually learns! I love how excited he is to come home and show me his art work and tell me what he has learned. I wish these reviews have a posted date on them because I feel as if some of these reviews are so out dated. From what I hear from neighbors and friends, the new Excel holds a bad reputation because of the way it was run years and years ago. As a current parent I can proudly and confidently say that times have changed! Thank you for reading and I hope this helps parents choose a great preschool for their children to attend ?

Excel Preschool is a wonderful school. I've had my first child there for two years and now my second child is currently attending the school. The staff is extremely accommodating and they do care for the children. The reason why I chose Excel Preschool was because they have lessons, activities, and a schedule they follow everyday. I'd rather have my child learning all day rather than being in a babysitting service like other schools. In regards to the review before this, I have dropped my children off in the morning and have picked them up in the evening and I have never seen the children being left alone. The children are being watched at all times. As a class parent, I have helped out a few times and I must say that the school is kept clean and safe. Also, the backyard is definitely not a hazard. I know that there were a few fundraisers last year and all the parents were invited to see the new playground equipment bought by the fundrasing money. I am a happy parent and comforted knowing my children are at Excel Preschool.

Please heed warning..... do not send your child to this so called school.... it's terrible... they don't have a good safety system in the mornings... children are left in classrooms alone at times.... the rooms are not designed with children in mind... there are times you cannot view all the children.. safety first... the playground is a hazard... always keep your child's safety in mind!!! Unfortunately they do not!!!

I don't know why the school is getting so many bad reviews, my daughter is in the school and I couldn't be happier. The teachers are wonderful! Miss Rose is so helpful and cheerful. Miss Lisa is wonderful as well.
My daughter is learning so much and loves to go to school. The teachers really care about the kids.
As far as the new director, she seems very involved with the kids, very friendly and other parents seem to like her a lot. I've had a few conversations with her and she has been nothing but nice to me.
I would highly recommend this school!

Thanks for the heads up! I was going to apply for a teaching position there. I retired several years ago from the Dept of Ed and was looking for something to fill up part of my day. Took enough abuse from administrators to last a life time. Don't need any more.

The Excel School is great for their teachers. They teach the kids different languages and many cultural enriching subjects to broaden their horizens.

Rose is amazing with the kids and works well with the parents.

The new director is a joke. She wanted to hold my child in the office until I made a payment. She calls people at work and stress them out. This Ann Marie has only been their for a short time but, quickly changed the feelings I had for the school.

I know that my daughter is going to miss the school, the teachers and the knowledge.

May I also note that I had my child in the school since June and I was looking forward to sending my son.

If you can deal with this director then I highly recommend the school. Miss Sharlini, Miss Pam, Miss Lisa and the rest of the staff I respect everything that you do for the kids and you are the best teachers around.

Excel preschool leaves a lot to be desired. It doesn't do justice to the name. Rather than excel the children go through many changes in a daily basis. Most of the staff for the exception of a couple are qualified and really have the children's best interest at heart. It is sad that every time the school has a chance to "excel" the administration fails. I have witness many staff changes in a period of 5 months. Children this young should given consistency. That is one thing you won't find here. There are staff changes frequently, administration seems to change as well. The "Director" always seems disconnected and self absorbed. It is disgraceful. Children walk around confused as if they don't know who their teacher is and new comers take a long time to adjust due to that every day they see someone different. If you want your child's first school years to be positive and full of fund memories this is not the place.
