i Salon: Union Square NYC

I went to this salon to get my brazilian done.
The staff is very nice. They did an excellent job on my hair, and it wasn't easy because I have very dry, wavy, and curly hair. I am so happy with the results; it's amazing the difference!!!! All I can say, is that none of my friends ever had it done right so I just never went to anyone. This is the best job my friends have every seen for a Brazilian treatment, they are all heading to iSalon now; because my hair is so nice, straight and smooth - I Love My New Hair!!!!!! I'm definitely going try out their other services too!

I have naturally wavy hair and iSalon has changed all of that. After years of flat ironing my hair everyday! I finally did something about this, and I was recommend by my friend to isalon. The staff was very down to earth, they really know their stuff; they are true artists of their trade. I am more than happy, and wish that I had found them much sooner. I now have a new appreciation for paying for great work. However at isalon, I received much more than I paid for; I'm definitely coming back. Thanks Again isalon :-)

Receently, I had a full beauty treatment at isalon located in 14th street on 3rd Ave. I had went down to check out this salon because I knew that I can get good professional artists here. I had planned for the longest to get a complete makeover from this salon for my wedding in Nov 2009. I have to tell you that I was very impressed and gladful with the work done by these artists in the salon. I was very satisfied with the service that were provided. It turned out to be the best choice I made and the best I can get. I had a facial treatment with deep cleansing. My nails and eyebrowns were done by Guita. And more impressively, I had a beautiful updo done by Jack and Doris. The total inspiration and effort pulled out by the team in the salon was impressive and superb. If you want to find the best artist for hair, nails and facial treatment, you will definitely get good results here. All my friends and relatives who attended my wedding gave a big thumb up in my final look.

I went here right before Halloween to dye my hair platinum blonde for my costume. My natural hair color is a medium brown, but I had been dying it red for about a year and a half. Doris took care of my hair and gave me a wonderful platinum shade. It was better than what I had hoped for.

She even set me up with the proper shampoo and conditioner to maintain the color and gave me a comp'd deep conditioning.

I went back again about two weeks ago to get my hair cut and Doris continued to impress me. I've never had a hair dresser listen to me as much as she did. She took her time and constantly asked me questions about my style as she cut to make sure I would be happy with the end result.

I told her what my long term goal for my hairstyle was and she gave me a fantastic cut that looks great as is but is growing in beautifully.

My biggest suggestion is bring a picture of what you want. They have style books there that you can look through, but bringing in a picture insures that you'll get what you want.

I'm a student and I'll admit that their prices are a little up there, but it's definitely worth the cost. I've been getting so many complements on the cut, it's ridiculous. Plus, they have student discounts which definitely helps things. Very professional environment. Extremely friendly staff.

I had my second experience at isalon today, and it was just as good as the first. Having grown up in Bensonhurst, I'm used to pushy italian hairdressers who don't listen to what you want done, and then eyeball you until you're guilt-tripped into giving a larger tip than you intended. Doris is my hairstylist at i-salon, and she's the opposite of them. Knowledgeable, attentive, and competent, I don't plan on going to anyone else to have my hair done.

Pros: Doris is awesome!

Cons: hmm...they don't serve alcohol? ;)

Jack is one of the best stylists working there. I had my hair cut there. I left happy with different look. I came to do my highlights and blow dry which were also amazing and the price is not that high for the great job he has done. The salon is also clean and the staff friendly.

I came to Jack Huang at isalon Union Square wanting a new look. I had no idea what exactly I wanted, I just knew that I wanted something very different. I left the decision completely up to him, and he did amazing job. He styled my hair perfectly to go with my face shape. Also everyone at isalon was very warm and welcome, form the time I walked in to the time I left, I felt very comfortable. I highly recommend this place!

I chose this place because they had a great price for highlights and figured I would "get what I paid for" - in my experience, typically if you pay less for hair services, it is obvious that you paid less when you see the finished product. Not the case here at all.
I was told by the receptionist that Doris was great at highlights, and since I had already read the same thing on citysearch about Doris, I made an appointment with her. She did an outstanding job! Not only does my hair look fabulous, but she was incredibly nice, friendly, and attentive.
The place looks a little dingy, but the service I got was the type you would expect from a fancy high end establishment. If you want great, inexpensive highlights that look like they cost $300, make an appointment with Doris.

Pros: Doris is a really talented hairdresser, who should be charging a lot more than she does.

Cons: The place looks a little scruffy, but it's worth it for the great, cheap services.

I got my hair done at i salon two months ago and loved the service that I received. Not only did my hair come out great, but the staff was very cooperative as to what I wanted and very friendly overall. This was my first time going there and definitely wont be my last. I highly recommend the salon, especially for hair extentions (which is what I had done), because they are very reasonably priced and come out looking great and natural. I loved my experience here and you will too.

I love this place! i felt so at home here. everyone is so nice, and the price is very good compared to other salons in the area. I am extremely picky and I have been very disappointed with other salons in the past, and i don't trust anyone with my hair, but i was completely satisfied! for the first time, i actually feel comfortable with my hair!

I have been here a few times because it is convenient, the last two times I was there...It took more then FOUR HOURS to get my hair done. I KNOW HIGHLIGHTS TAKE LONG...but not THAT long! The stylists were chatting...sitting around..and blasting music...it was a nightmare..I was an an hour late to work, and had to leave with WET HAIR because they would have taken three more hours to dry it.

Cons: Takes too long, and the salon's music is too loud

I have tried many salons in nyc and iSalon is excellent. They have everything you need, from hair to nails. My favorite service is the eyelash extensions. Their staff always takes care of their clients in a professional and personable manor. I highly recommend iSalon!

i have been going to this I salon for long almost 1 one year.The lady boss Doris is the best.she does every thing so gd.i got to knw about eyelashes extension frm Doris.She does the best eyelashes extension.she is so patient n does it so carefully...n the price she charge is gd too.i never go to other hair salon.i get my nails,hair,waxing n every other things at I salon.they r so gd with every thing.service is so gd.every one r so friendly.Doris is so amazing.im there every other week,shes always there.never miss my appointment.she reali takes gd care of all her customers.make sure everybody leave the salon smiling.i recommend every man n women to go there..they have the best things with best price n reali reali gd services n skills.

I saw isalon as I passed it driving by. I called them and was seen the next day. My hair was the worst it could possibly be. i walked in and was greeted as if i was a regular cutomer. the receptionist Elizabeth was very sweet. Perfect for her job. the owner { DORIS } had to be one of the best people for her job. i got a JAPENESE PERM the results were AMAZING. my hair was like silk, unbelieveable DORIS put all her time into getting my hair BEAUTIFUL. I was so pleased with myself and the ISALON , the perm lasted a year almost to the day. I went back for the 2nd time to get the same perm. its styled to perfection and the mannerisiam of the ISALON is the greatest. I enjoyed the time that i was there and would adivse EVERYBODY to at least check it out. they can definately do some HAIR> My husband LOVES it and i LOVE it . so many people have asked me where did i get my hair done. some people cant believe that its my hair. I am 44 yrs.old and all my life wanted my hair like this and finally found the place I SALON i love them all. Thank You DORIS for making me feel better about myself. Gabrielle Menne

I just got a manicure there. They only put one coat of polish on, filed my nails uneven and left them rough -- didn't paint my whole nail and nothing was sanitized or clean. It was horrible.

"Doris at I Salon is the only place I'll ever go to. In college I used to get my hair highlighted and cut by Doris and she always did an outstanding job. It not only looked wonderful after but Doris seriously made me feel like a princess throughout the whole process. After college I moved midtown and made the mistake of going to a salon near my new apartment. They completely destroyed my hair and I looked like complete white trash. I was so mad knowing I could have done a better job myself. I went to Doris to fix the mess they'd made of my hair and she did a wonderful job. After having my hair messed up at another place I would never get my hair highlighted anywhere except at I Salon by Doris where I know I'll always be happy with my hair."

Ive been to so many places in Manhattan,and finally i found the right guy who can cut my hair really good, skills are amazing,the way he grab my hair,,,,,you can tell that he know what he is doing,great cut,good conversation,friendly place clean,and my fiancee love my hair style,im coming back,,,,,,good job Ronie keep up your good work.

I have going to iSalon for about a year and a half, but I think I will be taking my business elsewhere. When I first went there, I got a new style from a very skilled, friendly hairdresser, and when she left, they assigned me to someone new. He was even better, but again, about 9 months later, he was gone. They set me up with some woman who absolutely butchered my hair. I am a guy with a short haircut that is pretty easy to replicate. She was bad news.

That being said, they are prety inexpesive, and you can always get an appointment.
