Hi! I am currently employed at Wings Model Management. After experiencing a models career in a top notch setting. I feel that i am qualified enough to give proper information regarding our agency as well as the modeling industry as a whole. Hmmmmm.....Where do i start? i would first like to THANK those of you whom have written an extremely nice review or given positive feedback regarding our agency. Secondly, on Jake's behalf, i feel that it is important to inform the public on what type of man he REALLY is. After working for him for several years, i have found that Jake is a ONE OF A KIND! He is not in this industry to make tons of money, he is not out to "take your money". Let's be honest, we are Cincinnati. As if there is just TONS of money to be made anyways! He converses with his models/parents after work hours, on holidays, AND over the weekends. The man does not take a day off. He whole heartedly cares for each model equally. Again, if you give him the appropriate tools to be able to book your child, (meaning: pics, a card, or website) then he will gladly submit you for whatever job is in need of your description. Just like any job- if you are unreliable, make excuses for unattended castings, and are unappreciative of his work. He will more than likely not submit you for a job because he doesn't want to risk looking bad to his client JUST LIKE ANY JOB!
Jake looks at this industry from a spiritual perspective. He feels like it was a part of his calling to help others and guide them in the direction of pursuing their dreams.
As a part of the staff at Wings model management, I would like to hold my own and defend my throne! We are EXTREMELY polite to anyone that calls this agency. Unless you work here, you will never know. People rely on you daily for a booking- please remember, we are not getting paid until you are. Therefore, it is an extremely stressful environment. We try to never steer anyone in the direction of receiving false hope. Please remember We are only submitting your photos and NOT the client booking you for the job. Therefore we cannot physically make the client book you. Jake has daily morning meetings with our staff regarding any appointments that are made for the day and gives us honest feedback on how we should inform them of what we are able to do for them. He always says "please make sure to be honest and let them know that we are a Cincinnati agency and there may not be tons of work for them, but we are always willing to help them with future possibilities". It makes me SICK to think anyone would ever talk badly about Jake or this agency. Just because you had a bad experience with Wings- maybe it just wasn't your time! Maybe- you should be in LA and you are too good for local work. It is AMAZING to me that people actually listen to that saying "if they want you, you will never have to spend money" Just like playing basketball, you NEED to purchase the uniform but you are taking the risk that you may sit the bench. You NEED the beginning initial tools for us to be able to present you to clients. WE NEED PHOTOS. GOOD PHOTOS. PROFESSIONAL PHOTOS. If you have not heard from us WE NEED UPDATED PHOTOS. Just because you spend money on a photo shoot does not mean you have done your deed. WECOME TO THE MODELING INDUSTRY!! This is a RISK. Also, I am so extremely offended by the speaking of "TEST SHOOTS" being a negative. We are booking those for you, out of the goodness of our hearts. We aren't making any money from that. We are just needing better shots of you, for the CHANCE that you will book the job. For any negative reviews-WOW-i know who you are!
you guys are something else writing these fake reviews. "Jake doesn't make money unless you make money" WHAT? He shoots the photos and charges 400 bucks. Do you think he gets a kick back from these Model Expos? Try 1200.00 per person. If he really had connections why wouldn't he just use them to connect you to the agents? Why should you pay to travel to Texas to meet people he already supposedly knows? WAKE UP people it's all a LIE!!
I read all the reviews, better business bureau reviews and ratings. I watched youtube video of his Fashion show from 2012. And finally decided to send my daughters pictures in to him November of 2012. He met with her and liked her and signed her. She's 6 with a VERY outgoing personality. He never made ANY promises. I educated myself about the business before I met him. Read blogs (a good one is yourchildactor.com) Get familiar with how the business works. He told me up front, if your thinking fashion model its not going to happen, wrong body type. He said she was an Olsen twin kind of potential. He was upfront about workshops and flying agents from LA. They skipped the expo this past year, and its just another way for exposure and learning opportunities. That IF an Agent from LA signed me eventually I would probably need to go to LA. That's all on my dime. (which is normal if you read about the business) He only makes money if she makes money. I had a friend that's a photographer take her pics. Jake had final say on her comp cards. I did a total of three work shops. The first one she was getting use to the things worked. She was restless and kind of hard to work with. As a mom I was unprepared and didn't know what to expect. So after the first we went back her behavior was 180 and we got some feed back about her actual acting. I worked with her some more when to a 3rd workshop 1 month after the 2nd and she was signed by a Manager and Agency from LA. This was only 3 1/2 months after we met with Jake. We are now planing trip to LA. Jake has done everything he has said he was going to do. Given his advice with his experience. Be realistic, Cincinnati doesn't have that much work for actors and models. You want a real shot you have to go where the work is. If you go to LA with out representation and good luck getting a REAL audition. No you'll end up at open calls that may or may not be legit. So Jake is giving you opportunity to be directly in front of important people. His job is only to get you auditions and opportunity. You either have what they are looking for or you don't. Also he only makes as much effort as you do. Every time I reach out he has always wrote me back or called with answers or suggestions. I'm single mom trying to fund LA trip. I don't work for Jake like some of the other reviews suggested. He said to try fundraising and that's what I'm doing. Don't be fool, you have to WORK for this if you want it. Jake is there for guidance and connections.
My daughter has been in the acting and commercial business for 3 years. She has had numerous trips to LA with decent success. We met Jake Lang recently at Wings Model Management before her most recent trip to LA. Because of his connections and introductions she has obtained better management and increased opportunities. Also, while here at home in the Cincinnati area he provided her classes with Hollywood coaches. His guidance and expertise is top notch. Wings brings Hollywood to Ohio.
Jake runs a game at his agency. He likes, and works for a few, but everyone else gets lied to. My friend was requested for a job, and he told them she wan't available. The photographer called her and asked her why she couldn't do the job. This was the end for me. I wasted a year there. Now I'm in NYC doing very well. Jake told me I'd never make it in NYC, so don't even bother. Not a good agent. Full of lies. Don't fall for the good reviews. I know no one who's had a good experience. These are his employees or his own. Even his favorites don't tihnk much of him. Go somewehre else. He'll stab you in the back sooner or later then talk so bad about you to everyone.
My daughter interviewed with Wings a year ago. During the interview, the agent hit on all the promises that I set us up for in the pre-interview questionaire. They offered her a contract and told me how she was going to have lots of jobs and make tons of money. Her stated goal, on the questionaire, was to make money to go to acting camp. We did the comp cards, as instructed. Two weeks later, the agent called inviting her to a free acting class. She proceeded to set ne up for the pitch of the"Expo". I told her that we knew about it, but could not afford it until we banked some money from jobs. We had never heard from them again, until I called about having them do headshots. They asked me who my daughter was, put me on hold, then informed me that the session would be $150 w/o the prints. I have read all about free photo shoots that they give other clients to appease them. After reading some more recent reviews, I called to cancel with a polite verbal expression of dissappointment in services. I was again put on hold, only to quickly be told "okay, well do you still want us to represent her?" Apparently the 2 yr contract means nothing. I get to just write a letter to terminate representation. Which benefits us, but also leaves her feeling disposable.
I completely understand the nature of the beasts, but it breaks my heart that my daughter had to have the lies that Jake told to her like, "I want her to read for the Nickelodeon casting agent in two weeks." An 11 y/o self esteem is fragile enough without agents trying to get to my pockebook through giving her false hope.
AMAZINGGGG !!!!! I dont understand why people are on here talking bad about Jake.. He is absolutely AMAZING! Ive been with him for about 15 years and I am completely satisfied. im 20 years old and ive lived in NYC and im currently living in Los Angeles. Ive done the Expos. AMTC to be exact .. Thats how I got exposed. The award Ceromonies are for us to enjoy ourselves and have a good time. Ive signed with agents in New York And LA through the Expo. its def worth the money. Especially if this is really what you want. I was on the verge of giving up my dream when I got pregnant in high school. Jake stuck with me through thick and thin every step of the way and that is why im in LA now. All these people complaining about having to move to LA and pay rent,bills,ETC.. It's not jakes job to support you. HIS JOB ENDS WHEN YOU GET THE AUDITION.. THE REST IS UP TO YOU. Im forever grateful that I met jake and that he has opened so many doors for me. I would not be here today if it werent for him. Everyone needs to realize this is a hard business to be in and not everyone makes it. Matter of fact, MOST people dont make it. You cant blame jake because your child isnt getting jobs. its up to the casting directors whether or not your child has the right look to come to the audition.
Also jake shouldnt have to pay for your child to get their pictures for their portfolio. If you want this YOU have to be willing to do whatever it takes. He definitely isnt a liar or a scammer if he has so many succesful actors/models. I thank jake as much as i can for everything that he has done for me.
I LOVE YOU JAKE!!! ?

When you sign with a modeling / talent agency, there is no guarantee of work. There is always cost. You can't get work without exposure. You need head shots. You need composition cards (business cards for models). Regardless of the agency, you have to have things things.
Wings owner, Jake Lang wants you to work. If you work, he gets paid. If you don't work, he doesn't. Jake has always been honest and realistic with us about the business.
Wings is by far not i good agency. I know many people who were with him for their first 2 years and only got one job and it was a month before their two years was up. He plays favorties very bad so if you end up being one of his favorites he will get you the job but if not dont plan on it. He will tell you in your firts meeting "Ohh i think youll do great and get all kidns of jobs and after a year go over seas" but you wont see your first job untill about 2 years from then so good luck.

Wings in Cincinnati is a GREAT agency! They have represented my daughter for over 8 years. The owner, Jake Lang, is very good at what he does. He has helped my daughter get modeling assignments all over the world from Milan to Paris, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, Spain, Germany etc. He has also gotten her a lot of local work in the Cincinnati area. I always recommend Jake and Wings to all of my friend who are looking at getting their children involved in the industry. Wings also represents actors and talent. Many of whom you may recognize from hit shows on Nickelodeon and Disney. I am always amazed at the level of talent at Wings! Keep it up!!!
