I sought out this fitness and nutrition coach for help with losing weight. I am very much overweight and limping from an injury and I feel that I was taken advantage of. I was told that nutrition was number one and the owner John even said it is 80% of losing weight and getting healthy. I paid for his services with the understanding that he would definitely help me with my nutrition and that training was secondary. He said we would have 2 sessions per week for the first month.

First training session he said we would be doing some weight training, but he started 15-20 minutes late then ended at least 15 minutes early. No communication as to why. He told me to come back on Wednesday for the nutrition appointment.

The nutrition meeting was a total joke: I was given a one piece of paper with 5 options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with no explanation as to size of portions or amount of protein or any real specifics. I was told to sit there and write out a bunch of meal plans based on these limited options that I barely understood the structure of. I was sat down with some incompetent assistant who was to assist me in doing the meal plans but every time I asked her a question she had to keep getting up to go ask him questions. She was obviously a trainee and knew nothing about nutrition. This was to be the most important part of everything and all I got was one piece of paper. Additionally, when I asked why the fee was $300 for the first month John stated that it was because we did nutrition the first month. Obviously a scam.

I was told I would get a binder and no binder was given to me. No contract. No nothing.

The gym itself is ok but there is no hygienic items there to wipe off equipment between different clients using it. The massage table he put me on was falling apart and even when I protested that it did not seem safe, he said Dont worry, I got you.

I told him that I needed someone to work with me in putting together a program for ALL of my fitness resources right away and he keeps saying be patient and that we need to go slow and follow his program. I told him the reason I did not use other personal trainers is because they did not want me to do my other equipment and wanted me to simply train in their gym. His program is 2 - 45 minute sessions a week and he told me to stop all my other activities except for one day water training.

Impatient and somewhat abrasive: I communicated my questions via email and he said he was ok with it. However, when I was there he kept bringing it up. Then he raised his voice several times when addressing my concerns about nutrition to shut me up. Obviously, there is no way to know if you are a good fit with a trainer until you actually work with the trainer and we are not a good fit. I cannot work with someone who is impatient and who raises their voice at me when we are not on the training floor.

I asked for my money back and he flat out refused. He did not give me a contract. I signed something that I believe had to do with liability and nothing else. He did not inform me that I could not get my money back. I saw nothing at all that stated that there are no refunds.

$300 is a lot of money for me to just throw away. I have no desire to go back there and train with this person. He is obviously running a scam to get folks to sign up and then wants to string them along and follow his slow plan and keep getting more $ from them.

John Henry Creel is the by far superior to most personal trainers. His knowledge of how to combine nutrition with resistance training and just the right amount of cardio has produced fantastic results for many of his clients. I am currently doing a 12 week fat burn off challenge with him and in 6 weeks I have lost 5 pounds and decreased my body fat by almost 4%. My problem area is my hips and thighs and he told me I should lay off the cardio (do only 2 days a week after exercise) and focus more on resistance training 5 to 6 days a week. His theory is that I will build muscle that will naturally burn fat on my hips and legs and sustain that fat loss. It worked because I went down a pant size in three weeks.

I've been at this gym for 2 years now. What started out to be clean and great place has gone DOWN HILL!!! There's always broken equipment, the drinking fountain is broken for weeks on end, the waste paper baskets are flowing over onto the floor, the bathrooms are either donning "out of order signs" on the stalls or have no toilet paper in them. Also, BEWARE! they lie to get you to sign up and you'll find there are underlying fees left and right. Unless things make a 360 turnaround, I am looking to join another gym!

Out of all the gyms that I have been to this is my favorite. It is smaller than other gyms but has all the equipment you should need. The personal trainers are very professional and will make sure you get in a good workout!!!!!
