My husband and I treat ourselves to Angelo's at least once a month even thougth it is a fairly long drive for us from Miami Township. The gyros are the best we've ever had and we've tried them everywhere. We were there this past weekend

I like many others in Finneytown have been going to Angelo's Family Restaurant ever since I was in high school. My parents and I use to come here at least once a week and now that I have a family we still look at Angelo's as our favorite

Angelo's Family Restaurant has been a landmark in Finneytown for as long as I can remember. The restaurant has a great family feel and the prices are amazing for the amount of food that you get!\r

My husband and I had frequently eatten at Angelos. It was a place he could get chilli and cheese conies and I could get get something else. It did seem like lately the quality of food had gone down hill. The last few visits had produced

Lets start inside the restaurant:
It's dated and not very clean, and has this "old" smell I can't describe. Bathrooms are very dirty and not kept up. I went in there to wash my hand and was disgusted.

Service:
Waitress was nice, but

Attended a school reunion in Oct. 2010. The party room in the basement was lovely. The food and service was excellent. We had a sit down dinner. (Had a choice of 3 entrees) The beef was outstanding. There were cloth tablecloths, with china and silverware!. Gus was very helpful. I would recommend this restaruant for a group anytime.

I would like you all to know that the food here sucks mostly, and the owner personally is an inconsiderate ass...He has tormented his neighbors, and shot their dog and THEN tried to take over their yard for HIS personal use. There has been no consideration on his part for HIS errors, so i can only imagine how he treats his employees or the quality of his food..Personally, how you behave in your personal life reflects on you if you own a business...and my opinion is, get out of the business and out of town...

The food was bland and lacked flavor and had an after taste. Angelo doesn't know how to cook and this is shows in dishs that lack flavor, and is just cheap food. How this place stays in business is beyond me. First, I asked for Olive oil in my salad. They put olive oil in, but I can immediately tell it's not olive oil, but pomace oil.. I couldn't believe a self respecting restaurant would use Pomace oil other then deep frying. Pomace is not OLIVE OIL ANGELO. Sald was also poor quality. McDonalds serves better food.

Pros: clean, friendly service

Cons: poor taste, lacks seasoning, bland, greasy

We need an event catered and decided to try Angelo's as a possible candidate. Four of us tried different dishes and shared to compare thoughts. Angelo's serves large portions, possibly to make-up for the lack of taste in the food. There was little discernible difference between the dishes we ate, which wasn't good. The meats had neutral flavors when combined with old grease it didn't settle well. Good reasons exist as to why most of these dinosaurs long ago went out of business. Those reasons include proper preparation, appropriate selections, measured portions, decent seasoning, reduced fat content....... This place sits one rung below fast food, and Sysco sells much better ingredients to the food industry. Do your taste buds a favor and avoid Angelo's at all costs.

Cons: Food, tastes, seasoning, a true relic

riddlers,
I don't know what dulled your taste buds but, IMO, your review of Angelo's Family Restaurant reminded me of one of those restaurant reviewers from the NY Times who love to read the sound of their voice!
My family and I have patronized Angelo's for years and have enjoyed every, single meal. True, the decor is "retro". True, the service is homey. True, the food is homestyle.
But it is GOOD HOME COOKING and the meal is more than "just a meal". It's a throwback to the days when familes sat down for a meal and made it a family event.
The menu is varied but simple.....sandwiches, Greek specialites, entrees, soups, salads, chili. But it's satisfying and well-cooked.
And don't even get me started on the HOMEMADE DESSERTS. The dessert menu varies but I've had excellent Baklava, creme pies, cakes, etc....
So, if you want a good, wholesome, substantial meal, don't listen to "riddlers"....GO TO ANGELO'S
(BTW, they serve beer and wine).
And don't skip the dessert....even if you have to take it home!

I tried this restaurant three times hoping each time that the food would improve and live up to the reputation patrons report, but each time the food fell short.

Upon entering you will find the restaurant to be clean and orderly. The staff seat you and offer water quickly and act very polite. The service tends to be both professional and efficient. However, with the updated seventies motif the restaurant offers little atmosphere.

Atmosphere can be forgiven when one considers good service and good food. The good service always exists, but the food lacks flavor and substance. The food offered meets the quality of lower bar food, foods high in fat and possessing the tastes of fat in every bite. Staff prepare salads in tiny bowls long before being served and obviously out of a pre-made mix. Vegetable arrive mushy and overcooked. French fries abound along with fried sandwiches. With roots in Greek food, one would expect a selection of Greek food available, but only a gyro graces the extensive fast food type menu. The waitress stated that the chef prepares Greek food one day a week.

Now if they could only get the food to coincide with the wait staff, it might live up to the reputation many hold for this long established restaurant.

Pros: Clean, Fast, Friendly

Cons: Terrible food

This is a small family owned rest. and it's wonderful. Initially the prices seem high but the portions are tremendous. They have home made soups daily. Homemade bread is available on the weekends. The staff is wonderfully friendly. It's like going out to eat at home!

Angelo's define the words "family restaurant". The food is top quality with Angelo and son Gus cooking. Every night there are different specials and homemade soups. The menu is large so you can order a full meal, (fried chicken is great) breakfast or your choice of a large variety of sandwiches. On the weekends they have the best prime rib in the city.

The food is well prepared by Angelo or his son Gus. Along with Angelo's wife, Helen, they greet you like family in the true Greek style. The food is tasty and they offer great prices.
