Bridal and Formal is WONDERFUL!! The bridal consultants were very patient and helpful, giving tips on styles, prices, etc. I did not feel pressured into buying a dress, and I was able to take as long as I needed until I found the perfect dress (which I DID!). My consultant, Amy, was AMAZING! There was a GREAT selection of dresses (all price ranges and designers), and Amy always found dresses that were exactly what I was looking for! All the ladies in the store worked together, and I felt like I was getting special attention ?? and I know that??s how they treated all of their brides!! The best part of my experience at Bridal and Formal is when the ladies did my hair/jewelry and placed the veil on, and my sisters could view me on the live webcam from the website. The consultants really understood that I wanted my family to be involved, and Bridal and Formal really knows how to make bridal gown shopping a special experience!!

I read a lot of negative reviews and was very nervous to go but I wanted to go anyway just to check it out. I was shocked at how great they were. I went on a Sunday morning when they opened and I got right it. My consultant was great and was willing to work with me because I had no idea what I wanted when I went to look. She was willing to spend lots of time with me and was able to pull together things that turned out to by my dress.

When I had second thoughts about my dress because we had to change our wedding I went back and first went to see about changing my dress but they were able to come up with a way to fix the dress I got so that it would now work for my new wedding.

My bridesmaids dresses are also from there and I have worked with both Amandas and they are wonderful. One of them knows me by name and has helped me so many times and deals with all the changes I made gladly.

I don't know why people had such bad experiences because they were amazing and I wish I was having multiple weddings so I could keep going back!

When we walked in the door there were three workers present and not one welcomed us or asked what we needed. I had to interupt one of them to find out where to look for the dresses. Then she pointed us where to go and ask a sales person in that area where to find the dresses. The next sales clerk acted like it was a big inconvenience to show us where to go upstairs for the dresses. There were very limited selections of dresses in a size 6. I had a good experience at Bridal and Formal. My consultant, Ashley, was very helpful and listened to my opinions. I explained to her the kind of dress I was looking for and she found several that were the exact type I wanted. She was patient and courteous as well, which made the experience pleasant. The dress I fell in love with was the least expensive of the ones I tried on, and Ashley did not pressure me to go with a more pricey one. When I asked how I could accentuate my waistline in the dress I decided on, she suggested adding a sash - which was a perfect choice and really made the dress "me."

The price I paid for the dress was comparable to what I would have paid elsewhere.

I will be having my dress shipped to me, as I do not live in the Cincinnati area. For brides who do live in the area, just be aware that Bridal and Formal does not do alterations - you will have to find a seamstress on your own, though they do have a list of recommendations. Luckily, shipping is only $65 and I did not have to pay state taxes, which wound up saving me over $100.

I have not had any customer service problems at this point. But, since I have not yet received my dress (it isn't due for a few more months), I will update my review when it comes in, as the ones I have read all noted problems with the ordering process and Bridal and Formal's handling of those issues. I am hopeful that they will come through, as my experience with the store thus far has been good.

I listed all 6 of my bridesmaids (and the groomsmen, for that matter, though I wasn't sure why they were asking for all of that), but told her that only four of the girls would need fittings. The other two were wearing dresses they'd purchased separately. The fitting went well, the girls found dresses they liked, we paid, and they assured us before we left that the dresses would be ready for pickup by mid-June. Approximately two months later, I got a phone call from a B&F employee, informing me that the order for the dresses was never placed "because we are waiting to hear from the other two bridesmaids." I immediately asked to speak to a manager. I explained to Amber -- an extremely rude and combative woman who has no business managing people -- that while I could potentially see where the original confusion began, I was shocked that it had taken two months for them to follow up with me; meanwhile, I had been under the impression that my dresses were on their way. Amber's response: "I can't believe you're having trouble seeing how this is completely your fault." I was eventually able to expedite the delivery of my order (free of charge), but only after arguing with several different people, being repeatedly insulted, and getting hung up on twice. Needless to say, I wish I would have read B&F's dozens of negative reviews prior to doing business with them. I would never recommend Bridal and Formal to anyone. Their somewhat sizable dress collection is completely canceled out by all the hassle and condescension you'll endure as a customer. They really take full advantage of the fact that (theoretically) weddings are a one-shot affair. Save yourself the headache and go someplace where you'll be treated with respect.

Bridal and Formal needs to understand the basic business principles of CUSTOMER SERVICE. There is an apparent lack of it especially with any follow up activities that may be part of ordering your dress AND this is coming from a bridesmaid. Also there is an complete lack of sales staff knowledge when it comes to alternations and timelines to receive obtain your dress. You have to call multiple times in order to obtain a call back. It amazes me that they are actually in business still in this economy and should know that when individuals are buying luxury items there is a different presentation that must be brought across to the customer. It is a complete disappointment to me.

Before you decide on where to go for your wedding or formalwear purchases, please take the time to read this review of my experience with Cincinnati Bridal and Formal. My recommendation to anyone is GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Yes, they have beautiful merchandise, which is displayed in a very inviting fashion. A new bride-to-be would be enticed to enter the store thinking that the buying experience here will be as magical as the merchandise they carry. However, in our experience this store was anything but magical. and the staff and management did not take responsibility for their careless mistakes. They did not display the integrity, trustworthiness and honesty I would expect from any institution I do business with, especially when making the most important purchase for a wedding day, the dress. For our purchase, Cincinnati Bridal and Formal exhibited neither honesty nor integrity, and it is my hunch that this is may be the way they do business in general. At Cincinnati Bridal and Formal, my daughter, who is educated and a successful business woman, tried on the dress of her dreams and proceeded to get measured by one of the sales associates. Based on the measurements taken, she was told that if she orders a petit size, which is three inches shorter, the dress will be the perfect length for her in 2-inch heels. She ordered the dress based on the instructions given by the staff at this store, and later bought her 2-inch shoes accordingly. The gown had intricate lace at the bottom of the dress and a gathered torso. When the gown arrived in Orlando for her destination Disney Fairytale Wedding, it was almost 4 INCHES TOO LONG with shoes! Because of the way the lace is at the bottom of the dress, we consulted the owner of a bridal shop here in Orlando on how to go about shortening the dress. She said that it might be possible to shorten the dress, but that it will take her many hours to do the work. Her initial quote was about $300, but she said it would most likely be much higher. HOWEVER, the issue here is Cincinnati and Formal and the lack of acceptable customer service I received. Having had trouble with the promised delivery date of the dress (it was supposed to get here by 12/28, during the time my daughter was in Orlando for the holidays but arrived January 7th instead), she booked a flight to Orlando to have the dress fitted. This was the first expense we had at the cost of the inefficiency of Cincinnati Bridal and Formal. Then we had the ordeal with the dress length. I decided to call the store manager, Tina, to let her know the problems we were having. Immediately, she was arrogant and on the defensive. After I explained our issue with Tina, she immediately belittled my account of our experience and said that the dress cannot be ordered at custom lengths and their staff informs the customers of this. As I said, my daughter WAS NOT told this, and she would be able to understand if she was told that the dress she ordered would have to be hemmed based on the measurements THEY took! Tina discredited my account of the incident, and basically said, TOO BAD! She did not accept a shred of responsibility, and told me it was what it was. I would avoid this place at all costs, or at least make it your last stop on your search. You get a lovely impression when you first walk in and they show you around, but that is where it ends.

The store is set up with the most expensive gowns up front, and the affordable ones in the back, around a corner. You choose 5-6 to start with your consultant.

First, we were reprimanded for "hanging our gowns too close to another consultants gowns" on a gown-rack. After trying on several dresses and deciding that we wanted to keep looking, we were told that our consultant could look for us, but if we wanted to look we would have to "get in line behind all the other brides." She then proceeded to bring me several $5,000+ dresses when she knew my budget was well below that.

We were yelled at when my friend pulled out a pen to write down a designer name, and also told that we were not allowed to have our cell phones out. When our consultant left the room, another would hover around us as to "keep an eye on us," and when I was discussing with my friend my thoughts on a particular dress, one of the consultants was obviously eavesdropping and quickly went over to my consultant to tell her what I had said. Our consultant said with every dress I liked that she could get a discount "if I bought it today." She also told me "horror stories" about how her brides would wait until the next morning to buy the dress and it would be gone. These "scare tactics" were used throughout my visit, with every dress I tried on.

Long story short- I went across the street and found a beautiful dress for $400 less at European Bridal and had a wonderful experience.

The store is set up with the most expensive gowns up front, and the affordable ones in the back, around a corner. You choose 5-6 to start with your consultant.

First, we were reprimanded for "hanging our gowns too close to another consultants gowns" on a gown-rack. After trying on several dresses and deciding that we wanted to keep looking, we were told that our consultant could look for us, but if we wanted to look we would have to "get in line behind all the other brides." She then proceeded to bring me several $5,000+ dresses when she knew my budget was well below that.

We were yelled at when my friend pulled out a pen to write down a designer name, and also told that we were not allowed to have our cell phones out. When our consultant left the room, another would hover around us as to "keep an eye on us," and when I was discussing with my friend my thoughts on a particular dress, one of the consultants was obviously eavesdropping and quickly went over to my consultant to tell her what I had said. Our consultant said with every dress I liked that she could get a discount "if I bought it today." She also told me "horror stories" about how her brides would wait until the next morning to buy the dress and it would be gone. These "scare tactics" were used throughout my visit, with every dress I tried on.

Long story short- I went across the street and found a beautiful dress for $400 less at European Bridal and had a wonderful experience.

Pros: Large selection

Cons: Pushy and rude customer service.

I could tell the girl was having difficulty finding our school. I gave her the information. Meanwhile a lady walked in. The manager stated: "Excuse me, is there anything I can help you with? We close in 15 mins" The girl said 426.00..I was like "No, the girl stated all the gowns on the second floor were $99". The manager walked over and flipped the ticket showing me "No Discount" in red. The manager then stated that she just got this dress in last week and it was a special order and she just put it up stairs. I seen the tag. There was no BUTS or Excepts mentioned. To see the disappointment on my daughter's face. She had found "THE DRESS". There was one other that my daughter had tried on and the rude girl offered to go get it for us. (Not even knowing which one it would be) She was not about to let us go back upstairs...ya know she was getting ready to close. My daughter said no, she didn't want the other one. Shame on them!

It would be a much better idea to go into the store, find the perfect dress, get measured, and then order it through the manufacturer (cheaper AND you don't have an in between company ripping you off). BEWARE...what they WILL NOT tell you when you are buying a dress you are signing a binding contract with them and they will do little to NOTHING about any problems with your order after it has been placed. If they make any mistakes in measurements they will deny it and do not hold themselves responsible, but instead hold you responsible because they can---you signed off on taking the responsibility for any screw ups and are now stuck with a dress that doesn't fit among numerous other ordering problems that they will deny...and you will be stuck thousands deep with no dress you can wear before your wedding.

My sisters, my mother, and I went shopping for my sister's wedding gown today. We made a 3 hour drive to Cincy to look for the perfect dress. Bridal and Formal was wonderful...there were a few things we weren't ready for, but the consultant made up for it all.

I too had a terrible experience at Bridal & Formal. I had a bad experience not just once , but twice. The first time I went in I did not have an appointment, which to their credit did not seem to be a problem.....Great. I took in 3 pictures of 3 different Maggie Sotterro gowns. 2 they immediately told me they did not have a sample of and 1 they said they did have....again great. I went there because they are the only retailer in Cincinnati that has a contrat to carry Maggie gowns. So I patiently wait for them to pull the one that they did have. They seemed to have trouble finding it, so I browsed some other Maggie gowns while I waited. They encouraged me to try on other gowns while I waited, so I tried on one other. After trying on the one I didn't want and informing them I didn't want to try any others, they proceed to tell me they no longer have the dress that I want, because it was just SOLD. So at this point I feel like they knew this all along and was hoping I would find something else. Oh and the lady helping me had a TERRIBLE attitude, as if she didn't want to be there. And I could not believe that the dressing rooms had no curtians....WHAT? This was my first wedding gown try on experience, so I figured I will just shop else where. BUT I am so in love with several Maggie gowns that I decided to give them another try. I called to see if any of ther other dresses had come in from Maggies Fall 2008 collection and the rep informed me that they did get one in, so I made a 7:00pm appt....yes they close at 8:00 and they made sure to remind me of that. So I get there at 6:45pm and guess what.....They can't find the dress!!!! I wait like 40 minutes and the rep keeps asking me if a similar dress is the one im looking for so im like no, no, no that is not it. So she goes online to look at it and im standing at the desk waiting and she asks/tells me to go have a seat while she looks some more. I just left in total disgust. AVOID them if you can. I think you should look elsewhere in Cincinnati, as this store has no clue how to treat a customer. I would never recommend the horrible experience I went through to anyone. Luckily another store down the street helped us out even though we did not work with them directly.

I had to try on a dress that was two size too small in the style I wanted. They measured me and basically guessed from there, After having two children I am not a small girl and most of thier sizes were for smaller sizes. (example 12 and under) They need to get a better selection of bigger sizes. Since I was in between sizes the consultant suggested that I get the smaller size because the style of dress had more than enough fabric to let out to fit me.She said that was better for me to do that than to order the next size up and it be too big on me everywhere else.I ordered that size trusting that she knew what she was talking about and paid for my dress. As you do so they casually ask you to sign on the line so they can order your dress. LADIES BE CAREFUL! DON'T SIGN IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO ORDER THE DRESS! READ EVERYTHING ON THE SHEET! THIS IS A CONTRACT! In the contract it states they will not exchange or refund your money no matter what the circumstances. Even if they in the wrong. This clears them of having to do anything further. When the dress arrived it did not fit me the way I was assured it would.They assured me again that it would fit after the alterations and that they would not have suggested for me to do that if it would not work. At alterations the seamstress said there was not enough fabric and she needed at least seven more inches.She stated that I should have ordered a bigger size. When I called them on the phone from the alterations they disagreed still standing on thier belief that those dresses have enough material to let out. They did not want to listen to me, seem to care what I was saying at all, and when I asked to speak to a manager she said that there was not one available. I went to the store the next day. They did not beleive me and squeezed me into the dress. They were rude, arrogant, & said that it was my opinon that I was instructed to order that size. I asked to speak to the owner and he was worse to talk to than the supervisors. He did not seem to want to accomidate me at all. He stated that I agreed to that size when I signed the contract.They would not own up to the responsiblity that it was thier fault.The owner would not refund my money and at first they would not even order me a bigger size.The owner called the seamstress in thier pink pages a liar! He said it was impossible that I needed that much fabric let out. Then after measuring me again he saw that I needed to go up two sizes. He laughed sarcastically and asked me why I order two sizes two small in the first place. I was hot and I said I did that on the expert advice of your staff. He quickly stated that was my opinion. B & F is such an awesome store -- so helpful. So much to choose from. EVERYONE should go to Bridal & Formal. I was excited to go to Bridal and Formal as they have the largest supply of bridal gowns in the area. However, they mis-ordered my bridal gown that I ordered 8 months early. They said they would send it back and put a rush on the new one. I have called multiple times as they suggested that I do to check in on the status. I have been told the same exact answer every time. "It will be in beginning to mid-May." Well I get married less than one month after that and it is unacceptable, especially noting the fact I purposefuly ordered 8 months in advance on THEIR advice. I have asked what they are going to do as far as compensation for this error and they have sidestepped the question every time, suggesting that I keep contact with my seamstress and figure out a timeline that will work within theirs. They also continue to tell me that they are making calls to the company and they'll see what they can do about rushing it. However, I'm not 100% sure that they haven't made just one call and keep saying that they are calling.

It is annoying because I really liked working with the people who helped get my gown, and bridal stores are always ready to point the blame at you when you put in the wrong orders/measurements (i.e. signing your life away that if you put down the wrong info, you will be financially responsible), but when they made the mistake, I feel as if I am getting brushed off and the "everyone makes mistakes" attitude.

This is not not the kind of customer service I expect for something that is costing me two months rent to purchase.

I drove over an hour to "find the perfect wedding dress at bridal and formal". I went on a Saturday, so I knew it would be crowded. The dressing rooms were communal which I was not expecting. The woman who was helping me was also helping someone else at the same time, so I ended up being there for hours while had to keep waiting for her to come back to me. I gave her my budget, and a few ideas of what I liked. I accidentally tried on a dress that someone hung on our rack that was out of my price range. It was a beautiful dress, but several thousand more than I was hoping to spend. They attempted bargain with me by taking $1000 off the over-inflated ticket price. I explained that it was still over my budget. The next thing I knew the sales person was lecturing me on my entire wedding budget, and how I should take money from the reception and flowers to pay for a more expensive dress (that is none of their business!!). She was negative about all of the dresses that were in my price range. I don't really want the opinion of a sales person anyway, but when it's obvious that they aren't being honest, it is really annoying. She left me for about 45 minutes to ring up the other girl she was helping, so I decided to leave at that moment. If you are planning to buy an expensive dress, they do have a good selection of high end designers, but it is obvious that everyone at the store works on commission. My advice is to stick with the boutiques that don't overwhelm you, or have staff on commission!

I have been in many weddings and all of my friends used Bridal and Formal for their bridesmaid dresses...I never found a problem as the bridesmaid, got my measurements, paid for and picked up my dress...but once I was the bride and of course went to Bridal and Formal for my bridesmaid dresses the experience was just AWFUL!

My mom and I arrived at about 7pm after work to look and pick out the dresses for my girls. Now, I understand they close at 8pm, but for those of us that work fulltime, we could get there no earlier than 7pm, which gave us an hour to shop. We got zero help, even going out and asking for help TWICE! Then at about 7:50pm, we were reminded that they were closing!! Additionally my mom went there to look for mother of the bride dresses and was again getting NO HELP...as before the saleswomen chatted amongst themselves, never offering assistance to my mom and her friend. Not only were they snobby when you did ask for help, but they were rude not to offer help in the first place. I would not recommend Bridal and Formal to anyone unless they are fine with getting rude service from snobby workers!!

Excellent selection. This is a shop where you can find great, great deals and the staff will work with you on the price. However due to the large number of choices I felt overwhelmed at times. And on the weekends it can be so busy that one on one service is harder to achieve than if you go on the weekday.

Bridal and Formal has the largest selection of gowns in the area. They have prices from off-the-rack selections to a wide variety of couture gowns. They are fairly priced, but if you see a dress in a magazine, chances are they have it. You will find the gown of your dreams here!

I don't think I know anyone who has been married in Cincinnati and DIDN'T get their gown at Bridal and Formal! They have an enormous selection, excellent sales staff, and great prices. If you purchase your wedding gown there, you get 20% off your bridesmaids dresses, too. There is little parking except for what you find on the street. Be prepared to get their EARLY and try to avoid going on a weekend!
