This place was my 1st Sushi experience. The staff was very helpful with all of my questions. I tried rolls with cooked fish, as suggested for my 1st time. These rolls were absolutely yummy! I am hooked on their Sushi now, for sure! Can't wait to go back again! It helped that I dined with a seasoned Sushi lover. Now she has a Sushi buddy to dine at Mr. Sushi forever!

I absolutely have to agree that this is the best sushi in town! It's always fresh, and they are so consistent with preparation. It truly is delicious. I would also agree with the only downfall being the tiny space, but, I don't mind because I always manage to get a table. :) I love being greeted upon entering the restaurant and being thanked upon exiting. Will eat at Mr. Sushi until they go out of of business...so, I'll probably be eating there forever. :)

It's just the best sushi in town. The only con that it could have, is that it's too small for its customers.

It's just the best sushi in town. The only con that it could have, is that it's too small for its customers.

Pros: Freshest sashimi, incredible rolls, and authenticity

Cons: Too small for how popular it is, and no Big Ten TV

Mr Sushi is amazing! The staff are wonderful and very knowledgeable and friendly. Usually go there two to three times a month. I like that the staff will give you their honest opinions about the different rolls/ dishes.

You are always greeted upon opening the door, and if your lucky seated right away. I say lucky because the place is hoppin! Not only do they have steady business coming into eat but it looks like they have a thriving clientele. I have ordered take out before and it was just as good as sitting in to eat.

I have been going here for a few years now and have yet to have a bad or even just ok experience. The only con that I have to say is the smaller dinning room, sometimes you have to wait outside.

Highly recommend!

Pros: Service, Selection, Food, Always busy

Cons: Small dinning room

I know it may be small but being new to sushi, I have tried several other places. Huma, Kobe', eastern palace, MR. SUSHI by far is the best place in Columbus area to get sushi. The quality is great, the taste is by far freshest. And the price is reasonable. The wait staff is not very fast but, I can overlook that. I would recommend this to anyone.

Pros: Fresh food, great tasting, excellent quality

Cons: The service is just ok.

I've dined at this restaurant at least a dozen times in the past year, including lunch, dinner, weekdays and weekends. Have always found the sushi consistently fresh and of the highest quality. The rice is cooked to perfection, the portions generous. Mr. Sushi is the best value in Columbus for sushi!

Pros: Fish is fresh, excellent quality - chefs know that they are doing - quick service

Cons: Not a lot of ambience, but I'll trade that for good sushi

The experience of a lifetime. The only time I can remember contemplating leaving a restaurant before the food was served. The service was terrible and the food was mediocre. There is no such thing as the best sushi in town, I rate it as good, average and bad. Good sushi is the right proportions of rice, filling and garnish (roe, sesame, ginger, etc.), and can be found at most sushi restaurants. Average is sushi that is too large or not quite the right proportions of ingredients, and can be found in some sushi restaurants, but not many. Bad sushi is sized wrong, not using fresh ingredients, if it sat too long and the paper is soggy, The rice is over or under cooked and can be found in most grocery stores between the cold cut counter and the organic food island. Mr. Sushi is at the bottom end of the good sushi, typical ingredients and presentation. I believe it would have been good if it had not sat and congealed on the countertop. The service was the problem. What ended up being our food we spotted on the case and watched it for fifteen minuets. We had no re-fills on our drinks after they were delivered, and to top it off we had to ask a waitress for our bill and she had to find our waitress, which took ten dry minuets

You can spend more on sushi in Columbus, and you can even find better dining atmosphere. But you absolutely cannot find better sushi anywhere in the area.

Mr. Sushi may not look like much from the outside - it's a store-front restaurant in the tiny Vista Plaza shopping center in Gahanna. The interior is spare, though comfortable. But the unassuming look hides the freshest, best tasting sushi I have had anywhere.

From rolls (hands down the best spicy tuna ever, with a little added crunch from some tempura mixed in) to the sashimi to the noodle dishes to more Western fare (such as their wonderful teriyaki chicken), Mr. Sushi's food is consistently tasty.

I don't know how they do it or who they know, but they somehow manage to always have amazingly fresh ingredients on hand, and the end results show just how valuable that is.

Because of the small space seating is limited. This has only recently become an issue. Personally, I'm thrilled to see such a wonderful small restaurant succeed that I don't mind waiting on occasion. It seems that this wonderful place has finally been "discovered". If you don't want to wait, come early.

And if you have to wait, do so. You will not be disappointed.
