I really love Cryan Vet Hospital. We moved to Westerville and found Cryan Veterinary Hospital. We have been taking our dogs there for the last 5 years and they realize that our pets are apart of our family. My oldest dog Morgan became very sick and they ran numerous tests and xray on her to figure out what was wrong with her. They recommended OSU for tests to determine if it was cancer or what was making her not eat, becoming very weak and labored breathing. After consulting with Dr. Seese it was my decision that OSU was too expensive. After Dr. Seese consulted with the other vets in her office, it was likely it was cancer, especially all other tests came back fine. We attempted to make her as comfortable as possible and said numerous prayers that she would begin eatting again. Unfortunately that didnt happen. I had to make the roughest decision of my life. I arrived to Cryan Vet Hospital on a Friday to do the best thing for my beloved. Dr. Seese administered the injection and in seconds she was sound asleep on her favorite dog bed and in the position that she normally slept. I wept and bawled and had to keep telling myself it was best for her, especially after the very rough night before. Dr. Seese was on the floor with both of us and crying as much I was crying. Dr. Seese told me that Morgan was the most loving dog and that was so true. Dr. Seese also stated that Morgan was the mascot for the vet hospital during her day and half stay with them. My dog was the best dog in the world. Everyone loved her and having two other dogs at home, she was the most dear because of her being my first and being a rescue. I think of her often and still tear up when I really look intently at her pictures. Cryan Vet Hospital, especially Dr. Seese made us both feel loved by the care they gave my baby girl. Morgan was 10 years old and had the best life she could ever have in our home.

I've been taking all my pets to Cryan Veterinary Hospital for nearly 20 years. I have always received the very best care for them. The staff has always been wonderful. The faces have changed over the years and Dr. Cryan has since retired, but the level of care has never seemed to change. They do a great job of working in appointments when I need them and always make time for illness or emergencies. There are Veterinarians closer to my home, but the peace of mind is well worth the extra drive.

We were affiliated with one of Westerville's "big business" vets for 14 years with our dog and spent thousands of dollars. Each visit required, extra tests, etc. adding up to bigger bills at our check out. All the while they were expanding and remodeling, leaving me to wonder if all of the "extras" were really necessary to my dogs care. The vets and staff were nice enough but strictly business. Our dog passed away and when we adopted a new puppy I decided to try Cryan Vet Hospital partly because they didn't look "high tech" from the outside but rather ordinary. So far it's the best decision I could have made! We have found both the vets and the staff to be very caring. I never feel rushed at a visit and I feel confident that should a crisis occur that they feel requires extensive care they will send us to MedVet or OSU. So for now, I think they are great and I recommend them!

I have been going to Cryan for years. I was always very pleased with the level of care, but a couple of years ago, when it was bought by a new vet, the whole place was even better. When I call for an appointment, I don't even request a specific vet, because I feel they all provide fantastic care. My dog, who used to hate going to the vet, now gets very excited when he sees where we are. He used to never take treats from the staff, but now he goes right to where they are and tries to get into them. We have a dog and three cats, and they have all be cared for very lovingly. Even before the change, it was a wonderful place. We had a dog that had to be put down several years ago and they made it very easy for us.

I highly recommend them as vets. And, like I said, all of the vets who work there are wonderful.

I have used Cryan Veterinary Hospital for years. Most recently I had a Chihuahua puppy who was failing to thrive. She just would not grow and continued to have sugar crashes. I took her to Annhurst for a second opinion and they recommended expensive tests and wanted me to see a specialist at Medvet which would cost thousands. The staff at Cryans know that while we all love our pets there are limits on our wallets that prevent us from spending thousands on a puppy that was more than likely going to die no matter what we did. They treated me with respect and did not take advantage of my emotional attachment to the puppy. Too many vets around Columbus are charging you astronomical amounts of money for things that should not be as costly. Spays that they want you to have laser surgery done. Medications that are actually detrimental to your pets. Cryans never tries to force medication on me and listens to my needs. I fully recommend them.

I had been taking my poodle to the same veterinarian for 6 years, until a move forced us to switch veterinarians. My poodle had been previously diagnosed with a heart murmur where routine blood pressure, xrays and bloodwork were performed to monitor this condition.
Upon coming to Cryan I discussed my pets heart murmur with both the DVM and the technician and never once were any procedures recommended to check the status of my pets health. I returned 6 months later for a routine visit and again mentioned my pets heart murmur and how I would like procedures performed to monitor. I was informed that the murmur "sounded the same" and that these tests were pointless and made me to feel as if I was duped by my previous vet.
No more then 3 weeks later my then 8 year old poodle suddenly collapsed and I had to rush him to MedVet Emergency. There, it was discovered that my beloved pet was in full heart failure and his heart was nearly double the size it had been 18 months prior - when my REAL vet did his yearly Xrays.
I lost my pet 32 hours later, and was fully informed by the great staff at MedVet that daily medication could have prevented this from occuring, had the heart enlargement been noted early.
Needless to say, if you value your pet's life and health DO NOT take it to Cryan!

We had a 6 yr old Pomeranian that had been developing symptoms of Cushing Disease for about a yr. His hair did not grow back after being groomed. Blood work was done, the vet explained that the white cells were elevated but she didn't know why. We had to ask her to test his thyroid, it was extremely low. We told her that he could no longer jump up on the couch, and had difficulty climbing stairs. She said the muscle mass in his hips was very low, but she didn't know why. On Mother's Day, we rushed him to Medvet because he was having seizures. Tests found an enlarged liver, our vet said she wasn't worried about that. The next day he could not move his rear legs. We rushed him to OSU Vet Hosp, where he died 20 minutes later. Diagnosis, Cushings. Our vet had said he was too young for Cushings and never even considered it as a possibility, even though he had a long list of the symptoms.

Our Boston Terrier woke up unable to walk one morning and after a rush to the vet was quickly was diagnosed with bilaterally luxating patella's... requiring surgery. The cost of surgery on two knees was very high where we live outside of Washington DC. We talked to family in Westerville,OH who recommended Cryan. I called the vet the day of her injury and Dr. Ratliff called back within the hour. He took over an hour to listen to our pup's situation and explain in detail over the phone what he would do. I felt so relieved and knew he had our best interests in mind. He talked to us as if our dog was his own. I was so touched with the detail, patience and care he took in spending this time with me, not even a patient yet. We schedule an appointment for just before Christmas. The staff knew exactly who we were and took care of us in the same manner Dr. Ratliff had shown over the phone. Dr. Ratliff took a number of opportunities to call and explain his examination and plan for surgery. While the surgery went on a tech called us with updates. Dr. Ratliff worked well into the late night to make sure she was stable and comfortable before leaving. When we picked her up the staff was so patient and caring with explaining her recovery. I have never felt so much attention and true care as I did with this group of people. I haven't stopped telling people about our wonderful experience. I just wish they were in DC!

I started bringing my dogs to Cryan a couple of years ago. I was not happy with the vet we had been seeing. They were extremely expensive and I couldn't seem to get out of their office without spending a minimum of $100 for even the most basic care. At the recommendation of a friend, I switched our dogs over to Cryan and they have been wonderful. We recently had an emergency situation with our 10 mo old puppy who ate something she should not have eaten. I was in touch with them from the start of the situation and, by the time, I brought her into the office, they had her chart sitting out and took us right back into an exam room. A vet tech came in immediately and took her to a back room while the vet came in to talk to me, telling me what her plan of care would be. They gave my puppy a shot of morphine to make her vomit and since it looked like the stuff had already started to dissolve, she had to stay overnight. They hooked her up to an IV to keep her from getting dehydrated. They also gave her something to drink to help minimize any effects as the bad stuff passed thru her system. The dr herself came in on her day off to check on my puppy and called me at work to reassure me that she was going to be okay. I picked her up later on in the early evening after I got done with work. And the bill was extremely reasonable, well under what I expected. They are a wonderful group of people and I would - and have - recommended them to other people.

We recently moved to Westerville & have a 3 yr old cat & are in the process of fostering &/or adopting a stray kitten. On July 3rd we got the kitten & tried to get an 'emergency' first visit to our current Vet's office before taking the kitten into our house with our current cat (because she'd been outdoors), but they were unwilling/unable to accommodate us. In a panic, we contacted Cryan at the suggestion of a friend who takes her cats there. The Receptionist was so friendly & accommodating to our circumstance & fit the kitten in for a visit that evening. We were so thankful, b/c it ended-up that the kitten was infested with fleas & also had worms. Dr. Seese & all of the techs were so friendly & they treated her right away & kept her overnight for observation & also to be sure the fleas were gone so out current indoor cat would not be affected. We are so grateful to them for their willingness to accommodate us & so encouraged by their gentle care of our frail, little stray that we are anxious to start taking our other cat to them.

I went to Cryan for years and I loved the personable staff there. I didn't realize that they didn't make it a policy to educate their clientele on what options there are for your pet when they are sick. They just decide what is best and that's that. One night in spring my cat ate a leaf from a lily in a bouquet (BTW - LILIES ARE TOXIC!!!). She was sick all night, abnormally sick. I called the clinic the next day and they let me drop her off. I told them that she'd gotten in to a bouquet and that I authorized them to do ANYTHING the vet wanted for her. The vet gave her some fluids but said we could take her home. At no point did anyone offer to run some routine blood work. If this $40 test had been run at that point, we would have been able to save her.Instead, we took her back the following day after a horrible night of watching my cat in agony. The owner of the clinic, Dr. Cryan himself, saw her and again gave her fluids and sent her home. No one offered to run any blood work to find any clue of what was going on. That night we took her to MedVet where they gave us the bad news that in the last 48 hours her kidneys had been destroyed and only 15% was functioning. We were ignorant about lilies, but we trusted our vet to give us all of the options, especially one as routine as blood work. They failed. She died on her 2nd birthday.

I started coming to this vets office with a recommendation from our home builder. Cryan was not able to get us in right away but we were okay with that because it was not urgent. I'm sure there would have been an exception if there was. Their office staff is WONDERFUL. I've never met such a personable group of people. One of my dogs had been diagnosed with mange in Florida and we were in the middle of the move while trying to treat her. Cryan changed her from dips to medicine and it was gone! We were able to then get her spade. They were wonderful through the process and were able to work with us on drop off and pick up time. Being my husband did both I had a ton of questions and had to call back. They had no problem answering all of them. She recovered well. The price was also the most reasonable we could find. I attribute this to people who really care about animals and try to keep their prices as low as possible. With 4 animals, that is a huge plus. I would recommend them to anyone.
