I would have to say that I find this location to be just "ok". About half of the teachers are wonderful, but the other half of them make me feel quite uncomfortable about leaving my child. I am currently looking for another facility, because I am just not comfortable there. My child is always clean, but she is usually not happy. I haven't seen her happy there one time. She is 10 months old. When I've arrived to pick her up, I have witnessed other infants being ignored while crying hysterically. It was so bad that even though I was in a rush, I stopped that time to console the baby. I'm SURE she was hungry-her teacher was less than sympathetic. I've called before and heard my daughter crying in the background, and asked how she was doing. I was told that she was happy and fine. Then I asked if that was her crying, and they admitted it, and made some irrational excuse. After that, they started putting the phone on hold when I call to check on her. I assume this is so they have a chance to console her before I know what's going on, but who knows? I think they have too many infants and not enough teachers. The director seems to have it together, and is very organized and attentive to the administrative details but seems to be annoyed by my concern for my daughter. She is also annoyed when I call to check on her and by visitors who drop by unannounced. This is troubling to me, considering the last daycare I was at emphasized how open they were about calling and stopping in whenever and the importance of having family stop in to say hi to the children. They encouraged the parents to call and stop in unannounced. Unfortunately, financial circumstances changed and I could no longer afford that center. I would say that the cons outweigh the pros, but I also realize that since I'm on a budget I'll probably find the same things at a lot of places. I'm hoping that's not the case, though since I am looking. Self esteem is very important to me in raising my daughter, and I don't feel that they are meeting her needs. They care for the basics, at best.
