My husband and I were recently married out of town, and we wanted to do pictures with our immediate families in our home town. We made arrangements with Gamble Photographic to take pictures in their studio, which is located in their home. We encountered numerous problems with their services and quality of work. We decided to go with Gamble Photographic after seeing pictures they had done at a friend's wedding. Unfortunately, we did not receive the same quality of service and product that our friend did. Below is a list of problems we experienced with Gamble Photograhic:

1) No matter how many times I told them my first name they addressed me wrong. All correspondence, including the website where the pictures were posted and my credit card slip had the wrong name on it. My family and friends kept asking who Jackie was when they went to view the pictures.

2) The pictures we took were with our immediate families for our wedding. We were charged wedding photography prices but received "family" type photos that included their logo in the bottom right-hand corner. The wedding picture that I had ordered from our friend's wedding did not have their logo on it. I was told that all family photos, not wedding photos, have their logo on them. We asked for "wedding" pictures that did not include their logo to replace the "family" pictures that had their logo on it. They did replace the pictures. However, when we are paying for wedding photography type services we should receive wedding type end products.

3) We paid $350 for our proofs to be put on a CD. We asked that our proofs be the original files at their original resolution. Twice we received a CD of our proofs where the resolution was cut in half for most of the pictures. We sent the first CD back because we noticed the poor resolution on most of the pictures. The pictures on both CDs looked grainy. We were told that the software program that they use automatically cuts the resolution down. Not all the pictures had a lower resolution though.

4) The quality of the pictures printed are no different then the quality you will receive from Dodd Camera or Snapfish, and their prices are twice the amount of any retail store.

5) Their studio is located in their living room inside their home. In many of our pictures, with both big and small groups, one can see the photos they have hanging on their wall or the area beyond the back drop. We could have hired a friend to take pictures in our own home and received the same type of pictures.

There were also times during discussions with the photographer that he tried to make us feel like we did not know what we were talking about, especially with technological capabilities. For example, we were told there was no such thing as a DVD player that can read picture files when in fact we have a DVD player that has that capability.

Gamble Photographic does not use Photoshop, or any comparible software package to manipulate pictures to remove items such as pictures on a wall and spots on individuals from lighting variances. The pictures that are taken are delivered to you as is. My husband is trying to figure out how he ended up with a birth mark like spot on his forehead in half of our pictures.

and still doing a good job. They're very professional, and I can't believe she's still working out of her home. It just gives such a nice feeling and the photos turn out really well done. I'd most highly reccomend her for senior photos as they're a bit cheaper than the other good places in the area, and just as good.
