Homeland credit union is an ok place depending on what you are looking for. If you just want a savings/checking account then they are good for that. If you want a CD (certificate of deposit) then they are good for that too, they have higher interest rates than other places. They offer 11 or 13 month specials too. However if you are looking to get a debit/credit card here I cannot recommend them at all. In fact I must say DON"T DO IT. I opened a visa debit card through Homeland to use while I was out of state at school. Someone hacked into my account and stole $900 from it. Homeland knew that it was happening, but felt no obligation to alert me, they said it wasn't a law for them to do so. Then I couldn't get Visa to refund my money, they said the bank had to do it. The bank didn't even give me back half of what was taken. I had to file a police report, the officers that I talked to said that there were over 20 other Homeland customers that had filed a report in the last 2 weeks. I decided to cancel the card and now have a password on my savings/checking accounts (although this will only protect them if someone walks into the bank to withdraw money).
