A few years ago, I had a crack repaired on my J-180 at Buddy's. The crack had since reopened (yes, I kept it properly stored and humidified). I put a mirror inside, and saw that the biscuit was not on the crack. I contacted the repair shop, advised them of my problem, and that I needed the guitar back within a certain time frame. I was told to bring it in under those conditions, and did so. The allotted time had passed, and I had not received a call, as promised, about my guitar. I emailed the shop again: no response. I called the guy at the shop I had dealt with and left a voice mail: no response. Today, I called the shop, was bounced around between extensions, only to be told (and here's the kicker) MY GUITAR ISN'T BEING REPAIRED IN-HOUSE! I was never told, and never authorized my guitar to leave the premises. They gave me the luthier'sluthier's name and number, but I can't get a holda hold of him, either. I have a gig tomorrow, and no guitar. We'll see how this pans out, but I can't imagine anything they could do at this point to change my mind.

UPDATE 5/18/09: Shop manager took responsibility for dropping the ball, and advised I'll have my guitar back, repaired, by Thursday.

UPDATE 5/21/09: 4:30pm - Deadline missed. Repair shop manager gave me a real bad attitude when I impressed upon him my displeasure. Says I "might" have my guitar back in the morning.
