I have taken my dogs to Shirls place 15 years or better. I trust her and her staff and they always do a fantastic job at a great price.

Good Value & Cares about my dog. I have been taking my lab mix to Shirl's for about 3 years now. They do a decent job grooming him - which is a challenge because he can be aggressive. He never seems nervous at the salon and is even

A local Clintonville, pet grooming business, I've taken my dogs Spencer and Henry to Shirl's for more than 10 years.

They are affordable, friendly and have treated my dogs with loving care.

It's a small place, so if your dog has a bad

I took my poodle to get groomed there three times.
I was mostly doing it because they were close and cheap, but there were problems every time.
The place stinks, literally. Smells like old dog and cigarettes. I dont want my dog to smell like cigarettes after they have been groomed, sorry.
The staff was rude. There is a really queeny guy, maybe THAT is shirl....hard telling...but he screamed at the dogs that were there while i was in there each time, and i felt the way he took my dog from me was insensitive and rude. Thats a good way to get bit, taking a nervous dog from its owner quickly and without warning..
Also, he never remembered me or my dog and he talked to me in a condescending way when i didnt know what to call how i wanted my dogs hair cut.
Overall bad experience. They wont be getting any more of my money.

Pros: low price

Cons: staff, facilities

My dog, all of 15 pounds can be sensitive around her face and snarl. I have warned them each and every time she has come there and have told them if there is even a question of her stability to call me and not finish the grooming I will come get her immediately. She has been there about 5 times in 5 years. I recently took her there and paid the $35 and prepaid a tip of $10. I called to see how she was and they said she bit the groomer. I asked how bad was the bite and he said " I put some Neosporin on it, don't worry". My mother picked her up and said she was acting funny. Several days later my dog was very docile and not responsive. She kept licking her lip. i saw that her tonuge had a laceration about 1 inch long so I called them and left a message that I would like to discuss exactlty what happened. They never called me back. Shame on them for not communicatiing what happened. i dont think the only thing that happened was my dog biting them. Take careful consideration on a place that will not talk to you after you have paid them.

Pros: Cheap rates and a great tip aren't always the answer

Cons: If something happens you may not know the entire story
