Monette's is world class, for the price. It is consistently 30% to 60% cheaper than grocery stores. The people who work there are friendly, and the selection is a big positive--they have some Indian and Chinese veggies there that you will usually find only at an Asian or Indian grocery. They have a minimal selection of organic produce. Quality is variable... sometimes they will get a huge shipment of something like apples or oranges or grapefruits and sell them at an amazing price, and they are great the first couple of weeks. But again, the prices... these guys will sell bing cherries for 0.99-1.99/lb when they are 3.99-6.99/lb elsewhere, for example. Like any grocery store produce these days, you need to look at and feel and smell what you are buying to make sure it is good. Great selection of local apples from September to January. Some homegrown strawberries during the season. Amazing selection of fresh flowers and garden veggies at the beginning of gardening season. Deli section has reasonable prices and friendly staff and is unusual in that they sell both Boars Head and Dietz & Watson, in addition to Sara Lee and Troyer, and in spite of having so many brands, the prices are typically $1-2/lb less than what you'd find elsewhere. If you like getting a good deal from local people and seeing a familiar face, rather than paying full price at an impersonal big box store, you will like Monette's. I don't know how they are able to sell things so cheaply and stay in business, but I'm glad they do.

I used to love this place, but their quality has gone down hill tremendously in the last year. The deli is still top notch, but the produce is one of the worst I have seen. Their organic section is small and somewhat non-exsistant. For example, I bought a bag of oranges and two days later they were covered with mold...this is just one of many problems we have had. This is starting to become a common opinion amongst people who shop there. Hopefully they go back to high quality until then I will be produce shopping at Anderson's, I will pay more money for better quality any day...

Monette's is great. I can shop quickly and frequently for really fresh vegetables and fruits, plus they have a deli, and the best olive oil around.

This place rocks! The selection is great and good quality and have yet to find a place like it down south. And to top it off the prices are good!

Monnettes has a great variety of fresh fruits and veggies. They also have a good variety of meats, salad dressings, pasta, limited dairy section, and candies. The staff is friendly and very helpful. They are open year round but also carry seasonal items with beautiful flowers in the summer. The place is always packed yet the line moves quickly. There are bargains to be found there as well!
