I looked into renting from this company. They were late to the first showing and then we couldn't get in because the tenant had changed the locks. That seems like a big red flag in terms of safety and involvedness.

Second, they were very rude on the phone. I was flat out refused when I asked to speak to a manager. Not good.

There are so many places to rent. Don't waste your time with this one.

I have rented from this company for three years. The treatment I have received in the last two months has been hideous! I have been complaining since I moved in here of mice and noises in the walls. After numerous complaints and parental phone calls Ray finally treated the apartment. When the noises started up again(in the walls) my mother called and Ray told her" I have mice in my house all of the time, I guess we have different standards of living".
The noises are only growing worse and now I have been told that it there are squirrels in the walls. I have been trying to resolve this with Ray since I came back for Spring Semester in January. It is now March and they are worse than ever. I am afraid that they will chew the electrical wires and start a fire. This time when my parents called to complain they were told I should just "move out, and break the lease" I graduate in less than two months and that is not an option. Do not rent from this company unless you like rodents!

I lived at 3443 Carnell Pl. #2 that Unique Campus Rentals owned and managed. I really enjoyed living there and the owner Rae was very kind as was his staff. The ladies in the office always were pleasant to talk to and the maintenance men were polite and respectful. Thank you for 3 1/2 wonderful years.

I was looking for a 1 bedroom apartment close to my school and gladly there were a couple of properties to look into and I choose the one that I liked the most. It was an easy fast process with all the help in the world from the ladies.

I don't think I can rave enough about a place where you can wake up at 7:30, roll outta bed, leave at 7:40 and walk to your 8am class!

I've just transferred and I have to say, they are a lot better than the other campus rental I had. Much more involved, answered my calls and questions pretty quickly. Keep up the good work.

First off, I would not even give them 1 star but I have too on here. Ray Ritchie is a scam artist and a liar. I have tried to get out of the lease by subleasing but he is discriminatory to other minorities and would not let the girl lease the apartment due to her race. The apartment of 33 E. Mcmillan is absolutely disgusting, weve had a window fall out twice, the apartment is either freezing or scorching hot and worst of all THEY HAVE BED BUGS! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM, their staff is rude and unprofessional and when the maintenance guys come in (HARDLY EVER) they reek of alcohol and cigarette smoke! the reviews that are 5 star on here are all from him and his staff! RAY IS A CON ARTIST DO NOT RENT FROM UC RENTALS EVR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad it isn't too expensive to live here and my neighbors aren't too loud or rude. Management does a good job keeping things organized.

I love this place. Maintenance requests are always handled same day or the very next morning that I request them. I feel safe in the property they put me in. The staff that works here is great; Raymond, Loren, and Kendra are always SO AWESOME! The neighborhood is great, transportation options abound, and the lose proximity to campus. Before I moved in, the place was kept well and although the building looks old on the outside, my apartment is crazy cool on the inside. The best management in the city hands down.

They rented to me what may have been the best value in Cincinnati for a 1 bedroom. A couple friends even asked me what was wrong with the unit b/c they couldn't believe the low rent. On top of scoring on a great rental, the property management was superb. They were super responsive to all issues that came up including a broken faucet, microwave replacement and a stove issue (the unit was an older one). Kudos all around!

I loved and still love renting from Ray and Unique Campus Rentals. Sure there have been a few problems with my apartment but come on, the buildings are SO OLD! When my roof started to leak someone came out the next day and took care of the problem. I love that Ray is so understanding with paying rent when my student loans come in. AND ALL UTILITEIS are paid. Does it get better! I'm not sure how or why all these bad reviews are up but I would DEF. tell someone to rent From UCREntals!!!!

DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT RENT FROM THIS AWFUL PLACE. First of all the so called "lease" he gives you is NOT a lease, he says he can break it at any point for any reason, so basically you have every chance of getting screwed over in the middle of the year. I haven't even rented from him and THANK GOD it ended up falling through. He let myself and four other roommates sign all of our leases, turn in thousands of dollars for our security deposit, only to tell us two days later that he was getting "bad vibes" from our roommates and the parents. According to the landlord, these were the "bad vibes" he was getting from us:

#1- one of the roommates mother's wanting to see the house before signing his scam of a lease, causing what he would call a delay in her paying the deposit which gave him a bad feeling. oh yeah, not only did he say she took too long, HE DIDN'T SHOW UP FOR THE SHOWING THAT HE SCHEDULED WITH THE MOTHER.

#2- The parents had a few major problems with the lease. The landlord doesn't even say that he will commit to keeping the house up to healthy state regulations or maintain any issues with the house. Isn't this every landlord's responsibility? Apparently not according to him since he thought it was sketchy that we would like to have that added into the lease.

Bottom line, he is a greedy man, trying to take advantage of college students. He wants to make all the money that he can and not do a darn thing to keep the houses up to par for the students. Oh wait I forgot to mention he also tries to charge ungodly amount for utilities which he says is a good deal to "include" in the lease. DO NOT RENT FROM HIM. You will regret it, I PROMISE. He is quite the smooth talker, especially to your parents. We learned the hard way what a joke this company really is.

Pros: NONE-IF I COULD'VE GIVEN 0 STARS I WOULD

Cons: EVERYTHING ABOUT THE PLACE

I am leasing an apartment from UCR and my ENTIRE experience has been anything but professional. On the day that I signed my lease the man behind the front desk was drinking a beer and reading a Victoria's Secret catalog during business hours. The website has an email address as one of the suggested contact methods- my emails are never responded to. My apartment has was entered on an "emergency" basis and the not only was the "emergency" not corrected but I was not called before let alone after the entry. The only communication in reference to this emergency was some chicken scratch written on one of MY WORK DOCUMENTS. I could go on for at least 30 minutes giving future renters reasons why they should choose other rental agencies, but I hope that the reader gets my point. The location is marginally convenient, but the apartment and this company, UNIQUE CAMPUS RENTALS are GARBAGE.

I rented an apartment through UC Rentals about 2 years ago. What a mistake! At first like the other review said the landlord was extremely helpful and kind but after I signed a lease in April I never saw him again. When I toured the apartment in April I only saw 2 problems: 1) a couple posts missing in the balcony and 2) a door in the kitchen that lead to a straight drop (the apartment was on the 2nd floor). I figured I could overlook these because you can't really expect perfection in Clifton. Then I moved in in September. That's when I saw reality. The front door to the house didn't lock and wasn't fixed until January when he began to show the apartment again. The water pressure in the bathroom was very low but the pressure in the kitchen was really high. There was water damage to the outer living room wall and pieces were flaking off into the apartment. The bathroom sink drained very slowly no matter how much Drain-O I used and worst of all there were creepy crawlies (you know the kind I'm talking about)! Yuck! Also, when the apartment was to be shown to new tenants I was given no notice. They would drop off a letter in my mailbox as they were walking in saying they were showing the apartment! He never showed the apartment himself, he'd send someone else that I'd never seen before and they had no proof they even worked for him, how was I supposed to know if they were legit or someone trying to rob me? I called and emailed about the problems but nothing was ever done. Instead he charged me $900 (my security deposit + $300) to have it all fixed after I moved! Only one person I've ever talked to has had a good experience with this company. I even had someone warn me about them before I'd moved in. Wish I had listened. The bottom line is he is scamming UC students because he knows they'll do anything to keep from having to live in the dorms.

Pros: All the apartments are close to UC.

Cons: Pretty much everything else.

★☆☆☆☆

I made the mistake of being tricked into renting from UC rentals by the smooth talking landlord. He will tell you how he will personally check in to make sure there are no problems on a regular basis. We never saw anyone from their office until it was move out day despite us frequently complaining about a leaking faucet as well as other maintenance issues that should have been taken care of before we moved in. The apartment wasn't even ready for us to move in on our assigned day.

When it came time to move out we were charged our deposit plus another $700 for charges that were completely wrong and often lies. Such as we were charged $60 for blinds being cleaned in rooms that have no windows.

The landlord is a liar and will take every cent he can from you. If you rent from here you have made a huge mistake. There are plenty of other reputable rental offices in clifton that you would be better to take your business to.

Pros: Off street parking (for an expense)

Cons: Terrible management, Crime filled locations

★☆☆☆☆

First off the house was not ready for two weeks after the move in date. Even after it was ready it had many problems. These included cockroaches, bad electrical work, bad plumbing, broken appliances, and a balcony that was ready to cave in. All of these things were supposed to be fixed by the move-in date. None of them were ever fixed during the entire time I lived there. The landlord is rude, unhelpful, and uninterested.

Pros: Some offstreet parking.

Cons: Landlord lied about the amount of parking available. Claimed three spots were available, however, there were only two.
