This was a terrible hospital experience. I took my boyfriend in after 3 days of intense abdominal pain and vomiting. The E.R. was terrible - we waited for hours and to be later ignored. The nurse even stood in our view for awhile talking on her cell phone. When I tried getting her attention because he was throwing up so violently she just held up a 'hold on finger' and continued her conversation. I eventually got another nurse's attention when he started choking on the vomit. They eventually admitted him. Our new doctor was shocked that so little was done in the E.R. and finally got him some medication. It took another three days for an endoscopy to find out it was a hernia. I had a hell of a time getting information about his case from anyone, not for confidentiality issues, but it's nearly impossible to track anyone down and give you five minutes and even more difficult to find someone with a vague idea of what's going on. Trying to request chicken broth instead of a beef stroganoff is apparently really pushing it there and you can expect to wait a few hours.

Family member was just in there for 3 weeks. Although many of the nurses were very good, the overall the quality of healthcare was not good. Seems the 'Do No Harm' doctor's oath is not taken seriously there. Since 2000 I have taken family to this hospital 4 times but I will never go back.

I 270 and E. Broad St. in Columbus would be a good place for a good hospital. They have a mal-practice haven their now.
My husband had a solitary kidney, a tumor had invaded that kidney and caused total blockage and shut down, they gave him a pain shot and put him in an area by himself. Thank heavens my daughter and I were there to take care of him. Nurse Molly and another duty nurse were too busy fighting over gossip - loudly - to pay any attention to him. Doctor was having a birthday party. They admitted him later and forgot to tell his doctor. Thank God for Cleveland Clinic, Grant and Riverside hospitals. We have had numerous friends walk out of the ER and the hospital due to lack of treatment. This is the worst hospital in Ohio.

My Mother, in her 90's has fallen and been take to the ER several times. She has been misdiagnosed with broken bones and she has been left to lay in her own vomit and urine while in the ER bed. Our names are on all ER contact forms and it sometimes takes they 5 or 6 hours to call us.

I was mistreated by staff on 2nd & 3rd. shift. I had my phone and shoes taken from me. And was closed up in my own bed and when i tried to leave the bed i was restrained by 2 people a women and a man. I ask another young female to let me out of the bed and she said; no! I got more upset and ask her again and she refused so i came out of the small opening at the foot of the bed and i was physically restrained by a young man on my right arm and a lady on my left arm. I ask them to let me go and they refused. So i tried to get free and they restrained me even tighter they was no reason for them to restrain me. They let me go finally and i called my husband to come and get me and i gave them a piece of my mind. The next day i had brusies all over my arms. I have heard from people i know who work there that the people who work on the third floor there are misfits who don't want to work so instead of firing them they put them there to work. There have been two other situtions that have happened there and nothing has been done about it either. I am handicap and have lymphedema. I was having my leg treated for an infection and had to leave at 1:00 am in the morning so i could of lost my leg due to their sick behavior.

My wife Georgia Lawson, passed away, January 14, 2009. She contacted two different infections, before she passed away. I seen other patients pass away with infections. Between the Bone Marrow Transplant at the Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, MT Carmel infections and the Pickerington Nursing and Rehalb., is the reason, she is not here today. And nothing is being done about it. I wouldn't take a dog to either of these places. I wouldn't give you one star. You may use my full name.

I have delivered two babies at Mt. Carmel East Hospital!!! The newly constructed Maternity Wing is truly amazing. Each mother has access to her own private post pardom room that reminds you of home.

The staff is very knowlegeable and friendly and available to you at the push of a button.

My favorite part about this program is the Lacation Consultants that are made available to you while you are in the hospital and after you return home.

At the request of her family doctor, I took my 96-year-old mother to the emergency room in pain with both legs red and inflamed with a skin bacterial infection. I arrived around 7:00 PM and she was not taken in until 3:30 AM. She had to be admitted and when my son left at 6:00 AM to go to work, she was still in the emergency room waiting for a hospital room.

To make the experience more unforgettable, I had to deal with a Nazi nurse that was in a mission to enforce "hospital policies" that did not make any sense to me and she did not have the courtesy to explain. When my mother was checked in I told the nurse that she did not speak English. Immediately, she started dialing a number to call an interpreter. When I told her I was bilingual and could translate, she told me curtly that I could not serve as an interpreter because I was family and this was a hospital policy. She must have been psychic, because she knew I was family without ever asking my name or my relationship to the patient. Ironically, I ended up having to interpret anyway, because my mother could not understand the translator's voice on the speakerphone so I had to repeat her questions. At the other end, the translator did not understand my mother, so I had to coach her to answer in a way the translator would understand. What should have been 5 minutes took 20 and by the end my mother was very flustered and I was mad beyond words. Especially, when the questions she had to answer were the standard ones such as: For what reason you are here today? Are you allergic to any medication? What prescription drugs are you taken?

I have told my family and friends that unless I am unconscious or half dead and Mount Carmel is the closest hospital, I do not want to be taken there.

Why won't you (the Rule Makers) allow your department to have their email's listed? Have you ever left any thing of importance behind after a hospital stay or hotel stay? Getting a return phone call is impossible. For Pete's sake MCE should be more user friendly. Too many of us work for Company's that understand it takes half a working day to get through or to get Insurance cards replaced or one of the office's listed to call back!!!
